I searched, with no luck, I looked through my phone and tried EVERY single folder.. Well almost all folders.. Dropping the icon I want in and then going to custom icons and it only shows me camera stuff..
So where do I put the file/icon so when I click custom Icon it will direct me to that?
THANKS!

I'm not sure I know what you are asking or what the issue is, but I keep all of my icons in my dropbox account and they are always available in my gallery when I make changes to LPP. Also, it makes it easy to grab new icons on my pc and have them on my EVO dropbox.
Hope that helps.

Same here, I keep a folder called lo icon in my dropbox, it always show up in gallery when I pick customs icon.
Hey... I think this thing makes phone calls too!
I have had a problem with custom icons being resized (too small) when using them in the dock. If you replace the native launcherpro icons within the apk they look much better imo. The icons are in res/drawable-hdpi.
Just rename the icon you want to use to one of the built in icons in launcherpro and it will show up in the native launchepro icon list.
OK I have 10 custom icons.. I hold down a button in the dock and click change icon, then custom icon.. it shows me locations for my pictures.. how do I point it to where the icons are which are on the scard

Just point it to the new icon, the same way you would select a new wallpaper.

That's not working.. it does not let me.. it lets me choose pictures for the icons, not the real icons... there has to be a way

Do you see the icons at all? The icons should show up just like the pictures. Do you see the icons when you just go into the gallery? You may need to use something like sdmount to scan the sdcard again.

That fixed it.. thanks

great - glad I could help
Hello,
Is there a possibility to mod the HTC Sense so that it can accommodate more icons on the homescreen?
For example, ADW Launcher allows you to put as many icons as you can reasonably put on the homescreen, or other screens for that matter.
Is there anyone out there tweaking the HTC native sense?
Thanks.
Have you tried multicon widget...search in the market I'm poetry sure that's the name you can put 4ever icons in the space where one would go...don't know if that helps, if it does then your welcome

Thanks,
that has done great.
I prefer Elixir. Less messy than Multicon.
These both look messy. SiMi Folder is an elegant option... try it!

Have you really tried Elixir before saying that? It's so wrong that I really doubt you did.
There's nothing messy with Elixir icons. You can create as many separate widgets as you like so you can allocate icons by thematic widget if you wish.
If you meant "putting icons instead of folders makes homescreens messy" that's a different thing but I still don't agree with the "messy" term.
I am trying to figure out how to install my friendstream, messages, and calendar widgets while running ads launcher. Is this possible or are their framework issues?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA Premium App
Assuming you mead adw launcher, you cannot run htc widgets, as adw isn't technically a sense launcher. I believe you can get some widgets off the market that will work though.
Yeah adw* and I figured it wasn't sense based and also I have the .apks in my app folder, I just don't have the option of setting the widget. Anyway to add them in the list of widgets for adw through astro?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA Premium App
I suppose it's possible, but I still don't think they will work on ADW. I don't use Astro, so I don't know if adding them is possible.
I have been using 7zip to replace icons for my docked apps. The only one that has eluded me so far is the phone icon. I found the stock green phone icon in res\drawable and replaced it but it did not change on the app or dock. Usually the icon for others was in res\drawable-hdpi. Soooo my question is where the heck is the one I need to change. Thanks.
I believe its in dialertabactivity.apk
Thats where it takes the icon from

Now, any idea where that default apps icon is stored? The white 16 square rectangle that Zeam, launcher and LP use? Is it in Framework-res? I can't find it in Zeam so think it is in the system somewhere. Thanks.

What launcher are you using? It is in the laucher. I use adwex, one of its features is the ability to change the icons....I change them all the time.

Zeam. It's not in the drawable-hdpi where I found all my other icons for apps.
The way I do it sometimes it just open the apk with 7zip, the take the res folder and drag it to the desktop, or whatever, open it in windows, and change the view to large icons, then you can look at all the images in the apk and find what you want.

Yeah, that is what I have been doing, but Zeam has so many drawables... I guess I have no choice but to look at them all. Really though the apps icon was a system default a lot of launchers used.
Got it! Had a wierd name action_apps_grid or something like that. Thanks for the help. I have made my phone my own now...
I find myself spending considerable time "re-organizaing" my phone after flashing. Is there a way to keep the folders I created, and better yet, the layout of my homescreen, widgets, etc. when flashing new roms?

Most custom launchers support this. I've used go launcher ex, adw launcher, and launcher pro and they all will backup your configurations.

Miui backup saves homescreen layout and apps, but only for MIUI

I personally don't back up my layout because I think its fun setting it all back up again.

Thanks jwiner for asking this question. I assumed the answer was no, so was glad to see that I could back up using ADW settings. I am on CM7 currently but hadn't paid much attention the ADW settings until now.
Does that back up the widgets too? After restoring with TiBu I always get a "cannot open widget" or something like that. LPP says it's an Android thing that can't backup widget configurations

Widgets will be saved in the spot you set em. However, you will need to delete & reset each one.
That's been my experience as well. Thanks

There is no way with stock HTC sense to save the layout.
Custom roms with alternative launchers do have so options however you still need to reinstall the appropriate applications for the widgets to function correctly.
Same here
I'm using ADW and as far as I can tell, you can backup only the current layout, but I want a way to save each of my layouts and be able to go back and choose one of them again like you can in the Sense layouts. It takes me several days to get everything set up, custom icons made, and tweaking until it's just right. So it sucks that you can't go back and reuse all of them when you want.

Do you use Titanium?
I thought launchers with backup/restore only restored settings and actual apps on the screen. Every time I used them they never restore widgets, I always have to remove the gray block and re-add the widgets.
If you use a folder tool like folder organizer Titanium will backup those folders and apps inside of them.
