[Q] Over-ear headphones with mic? - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hey guys, does anyone know of any good quality on-ear headphones which also have a microphone built in? I have been trying to look for a set and have been fairly unlucky.

Plenty here to look at: http://reviews.cnet.com/bluetooth-headsets/?filter=500876_14725760_

Was looking at the typical over-ear headphones rather than the bluetooth headsets

I'm pretty sure beat by dre have a set that qualify, but they get crappy reviews.

Saw the PX200-IIi and read reviews on them and seemed to be the best I could find online so I think I might go with them

Got beats solo and they perform great. maybe its just me.
although volume is not that strong. or maybe its just me coming from an in-ear sennheiser headphone.
and volume control doesnt work as well. (tried a lot of apps to get it to work with no success).

Cnet reviews should be fine but do some research before and check some other reviews too, I always try a pair before I decide what I do want. Decided to go with a Sennheiser PX200ii-i

I dont see why they wouldn't, I've been looking at these:
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheise...ivate_headsets_mobile_music_502841?Open&row=2
But ouch at the price, same with those Klipsch ones, wow!
Just done a bit more research and I dont think the Klipsch ones will work with anything not Apple.
Image S4i FAQs
Will the Image S4i work with any cell phone?
The Image S4i is designed to work seamlessly with the iPhone 3GS. It will work with the iPhone 3G and first generation iPhone, but with limited functionality. The S4i’s volume up and down feature will not work on these older products. Because the S4i features an Apple chip, we cannot guarantee what level of functionality it will have with other cell phone brands.
dam thats a real shame, any how those headphones had top reviews and customer ratings. I know its a bit steep but worth a bit more i think.
I'll let you know how I get on with the Sennheiser's on this thread in good time.. anything you find out post here too please... I'm not happy at all with the set that are included so eager to upgrade asap.
guys dont waste money on them,.
Get the NuForce NE-7M
they are awesome headphones and the it has a mic built in
for half of the price, people say best IEMs for under $50 along with the Imetal 590s which you should also look at. as they both sound as good as more expensive headphones
Thankyooooo!
Most important accessory be the handsfree and you've just solved it for me
hope the button to answer calls works.. I dont mind not having volume control
They are good for Bass music so everything apart from classical
for something less bassy get the Maximo IP-HS2.
Another vote for the nuforce - they sound better than the klipsch - well worth it and the button works as does the Mic...

SKs are really quite bad, if your used to cheap headphones then they will be ok sounding but if u heard NE7/NE6 or soundmagic pl50 or maximo im590/hs2 then you would never go back.
I got the (Logitech) Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220vi
They work perfectly as they only have 1 single button:
- Press: Accept/End call or Play/Pause music while playing.
Great bass and an acceptable (sealed) in-ear fit (there are 3 sizes, I needed the largest)

[Q] best headphones for galaxy nexus

Hello xda fellas!
Am looking for the best headphones for the galaxy nexus but first i want to ask is it worth it to buy such headphones on a mere smartphone? Is it gonna make any major difference between it and the stock headphones?
If yes then what do you suggest me to buy??? Ive heard about the sennheiser HD650, what do you think about it???
Oh one more thing, what is external DAC?? Does galaxy nexus support it??is it gonna make any difference in sound quality??
I'm thinking to buy SMS audio
It's worth getting a decent pair of sound isolating headphones. I currently use ultimate ears but also have a pair of Sennheiser's which are great (and cheaper!)

Earphones or headphones?
I have some Sennheiser earphones for my Creative Zen X-Fi so I use them. They make everything sound better and you can pick a pair up for £30-50.

I actually think stock earphones are quite good. Do you have the phone already? If not I would wait and test the stock ones before spending even more money. If you have Nexus already then I'm just curious what you don't like about them?
I like the stock earphones but i wanted to take it to the next level to see if those expensive ear/headphones really worth it or not
What's your budget? I would recommended Sennheiser IE8s to anyone that's willing to listen excellent for the price

I have beats solo's and they dont seem to be no where near as loud as they are on my iPhone.. Pretty gutted about it to be honest
the Galaxy Nexus can drive my AIAIAI TMA-1 headphones brilliantly. The Nexus S wasn't able to push them very well, but the Galaxy Nexus sounds great with these headphones.
For the record, these headphones have 40mm drivers.

You can't get wrong with IE8. Been using one since last year & the quality is the best that I've ever come across.
skull candy ,,,,,,,,,the sound from them pure quality,
I can recommend this one.
Sennheiser HD25-1 II
They are very clear and exact. They give you out what you put in. So nothing for low quality files.
Sure from a design point of few they are not awesome but the sound is very good.
The good thing about them is that they have a very good isolation so if you're using the public transport a lot you will love them.
Another good point is that you can easily replace every single piece and they are very adjustable so it fits nice to your head.
I just got bob Marley ear buds from stapes for 40 bucks and they sound awesome I have skull candies but they always fall out of my ears

Don't buy headphones with mic or handsfree... the device will reject it with an "accesory not supported" error. Sony Ericsson doesn't allow to use external handsfree headphones by hardware.

Motorola S9-HD. Love these on my Play. Everything works exactly as expected. Music pauses for calls, wireless, deep bass (for earphones) and clean, crisp stereo sound. I'm in love with these, and I've had them longer than I've had my Play.

Actually if you can stretch to 8.99GBP (from John Lewis, it's probably similarly cheap in other countries), Philips SHE-3590 go in-ear and are better still. :good: There's a thread on head fi about them (or 3580s, which are supposed to be basically the same). Overall nice bass, clear details and lots of blocking out of outside sound. I keep losing this type of earphone, so I have tried lots of the cheapies, including Gumy and Marshmallow.
I have a Sony XB-500 that is quite fun for the Play. The bass is deliberately overpowering and makes the earcups vibrate. It's not everyone's cup of tea for accurate representation of music, but it's fun and intense when things explode on Asphalt or Giga Wing... "Come on!!!" It's not a bad attempt to get an arcade experience on a phone.
My favourite overall headphone to my tastes is the Sennheiser HD25-1, but I'm parted from that now Really nice monitoring headphone that is good at being punchy and lively as well when it needs to be. It clamps the ears quite tight as its sold to DJs who don't want it to fall off their heads, but it eventually gets more comfy with use. The aforementioned Audio-Technica M50 is good too.
Bang & Olufsen A8 headphones.
Great sound for their size! Much better than this beats headphones that can only produce bass and nothing more.

That is your opinion, I've compared beats to skull candy side by side and personally for the price and the customer support I get from skullcandy I would take them over beats any day. Now to your comment on them buying knock off headphones and putting their logo on it, do you have any proof of this? If you have only used there 20$ head phones yes, they are cheap, built cheap, and not meant to last 10 years. I personally got the SkullCandy Titans and adore them. The speakers can handle any type of music I push through them and, being that the buds are made of metal they last a very long time. The best part is, if anything happens to them, like one side stops working, skullcandy will replace your headset for free. It is a very easy process to get them replaced too.

Dude you compare skullcandy to beats both of which are overpriced and not nearly as good as other brands. I'm sorry but I am an audiophile, have been for years. I have extensive audio systems at home and in my car, so I know what I am talking about.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/470384/skullcandy
This is THE forum for sound quality, so if they say they suck then they suck. Sorry man, but it's great that you are pleased by their headphones, keep buying them. Also I have owned a set of Titans, I friend gave them to me last year and they are terrible. One of the headphones has lower volume than the other and compared to even my low end set of Sony's they are trash.
With Beats and Skullcandy you are paying for the name and nothing more. Anyone who knows anything about audio will not buy either of these brands. I personally have studio grado headphones and they trounce anything else I have tried. Sure they might not look as good as the others, but they sound immensely better.
I'm sorry but you shouldn't have to replace your headphones. The only time I have ever had my earbuds break is when I tear the cord, the brands I buy have never had one of them go out. That is a sign of shoddy construction.

Shures are great for sound quality but not for bass, so if that is what you are looking for then you might want to try Sennheiser or Ultimate Ears (though they are owned by Logitech now and may not be built as well) or Sony. FIIO amps are good, but be careful where you buy it from because there are crummy knockoffs out there being sold as the real deal.
Klipsch is good too, just check out the Head-fi forums and look for what you want in the sound. Many headphones sound good, but don't have enough bass for people's taste.

How much are you willing to spend? If you want a pair of budget IEMs then I would suggest the Xiaomi Piston 3. They can be had for less than 20 and are some of the best in the price bracket, assuming you don't get a fake pair. They also have an inline mic which play/pause and volume buttons that work with the HTC 10
