I just picked up 2 droid incredible 2's (for $29 at costco). Both are running froyo. I was going to root, and was wondering if anyone had a link for plain old gingerbread with root?
I do know that the ota can not be rooted, and I have refused the upgrade, just looking for GB that is stock and rooted.
Thank you.

This is the rooted OTA for GB Sense. I think RMK did remove some of the bloatware but this is essentially the rooted OTA file, as I understand it:

you wont be able to update just the sense part of your 2.3.4. you will need to download a custom ROM that has sense 3.0 or higher already built into it.
then will i have to re-root? Do you know of such a rom?

+1 on this. It is a beautiful rom that is just getting better with each update. You can find it here.

(my girlfriend) recently updated her software to 2.3.4, the phone has never been rooted b4, just to be sure, there is currently no way to root? if so how? i recently followed the same steps i did on my own phone a few months back (unrevoked3) but was unsuccessful.
So I'm currently using rmk's 2.3.3 debloated stock ROM, and would like exactly the same thing for 2.3.4, which his Virtuous ROM doesn't appear to be. I am also seeing no downloads on the Virtuous website for just a debloated stock 2.3.4.
Anything like that exist yet? Apparently the OTA update will remove root.
Also waiting for a debloated stock 2.3.4

If there is a stock rooted 2.3.4, you can install that and manually debloat it yourself

I saw this thread, but it doesn't appear to be a whole ROM. Not sure exactly what to do with the files there.
I found RMK's thread on rootzwiki where he's updating the ROM I am using right now. Bookmarked it, now just have to wait
URL for anyone else looking: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php...l*-3.02.605.1-(Rooted-Deodexed-Debloat)/page3

I have done a search so save me the bull**** about doing a search is there an update for the HTC EVO 4G I am rooted running mik ROM 3.0 and haven't had a notification about an update but I have heard rumors about an update. If there is what android version is it and will it mess my root up?? Also is there a ROM that gives me the option to lock my phone and the only way to unlock it is by voice?? Just a few questions thanx for any help

Are you looking for the latest stock rooted rom? If so I'm pretty sure u can find it in the development section. Or are you trying to unroot and go back to stock? And if your running mikg I'm pretty sure you won't receive update notifications for the evo from sprint. Not sure what your trying to accomplish man.

Also nah I haven't heard of rom that allows you to unlock by voice.

Dont worry about updates from Sprint. As soon as anything would come out, Devs work them into their ROMS. There should not be anymore for us.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Yea, if you are running a custom rom, you won't get update notifications from sprint, as you arent running a sprint rom. Just check your rom's thread for any updates.

Correct. If you were on a sprint sense rom and took an OTA, there's a minimal chance you could lose root [I've seen it happen], so as said, check the thread of your rom for updates/patches.
