Do you think it'd be safe to plug my atrix into a samsung galaxy tab adapter in my car?
If the plug fits, wear it ! Well almost the right saying. I use the adapter I was using for my old cell ( that and an adapter to go from the mini usb the old phone needed to a micro required for the Atrix ). I had that set-up working fine for my old Galaxy and it works just fine for the Atrix.
I use the car charger for the Palm Pre. Charges like a wall charger (not USB) and works great with the Moto car dock.

Does anyone know of a good, working airline charger that I could buy that would plug into the armrest on an airline so that I can charge my A101IT?
I'd prefer one that hooks from the armrest directly to the A101IT without the need to attach and/or buy 1 or more cables to the initial airline adapter to get the A101IT to charge.
Basically, like this but without the car adapter part.
Looking to spend no more than $20 USD.
You could also get this - http://www.newmp3technology.com/mc101.htm which will work with the other part.
But don't most planes have USB ports these days so you could use this - http://www.newmp3technology.com/adc101.htm
I don't know if planes these days have USB ports in the armrest because it's been a while since I've been on one but I did happen to already buy the 2nd cable with the usb part so I could charge it through my laptop.
As far as the 1st one, I already have the car adapter for my vehicle and do not want to buy another adapter or continue to take it in and out of my vehicle to then take it on a plane and return it back to my vehicle once I'm back. So again, I am looking for one that goes directly from the Airline Adapter part in the armrest directly to the A101IT WITHOUT connecting more cables like the car adapter to it. Just 1-to-1.... if it something like that exists for airlines?
Like so: http://www.newmp3technology.com/airlineadapter-a101.htm
(without the car adapter part, just have the 3.5mm barrel connector on the other side of the airline adapter).
Ive since moved on from the atrix but kept the lapdock to see if i can use it for a hdmi monitor and charger. I now have the galaxy nexus and wanted try and use the lapdock with it. Im going to order the MHL adapter for the galaxy nexus to connect to the lapdock's hdmi with a female micro hdmi adapter. Ive read that the lapdock can receive HDMI input from other sources besides the atrix but will the lapdock accept HDMI source from a MHL adapter. Another problem is that in order for the Samsung MHL adapter to work it needs to be plugged in to a micro usb power source. I need to be able to use the micro usb from the lapdock if i want this set up to be portable.
i bought a micro usb extension and tried that but it doesnt charge galaxy nexus or Optimus P500. Unfortunately i sold my atrix before i got the cable so i cant test it with that but the micro usb extension charges all my phones fine when plugged into an AC adapter. So is it possible to mod the lapdock or micro hdmi cable to charge my other phones?
I can't speak for different phones made by different manufacturers (samsung, etc), but the atrix lapdock can be modified to work with other motorola weptop enabled phones. I am typing this on an atrix lapdock plugged into my Droid 4. I had to modify it when i bought it in order for it to work, but it was a simple 10 min job and it has been working well!
All I had to do was unscrew the cover of the hdmi/microusb ports, and flip over the connectors that were upside down for my use, and put it back together. A bit of shaving the plastic in the corners was necessary, but was not difficult. I am a happy user since this keyboard is a bit larger than the lapdock 100, and it was cheaper on craigslist than a lapdock 100.
Now I just need to see if anybody has managed to find any happy ways to hack/modify the atrix lapdock for greater functionality, like multitouch or scroll areas. If you have happened to see someone getting this to work, please do tell!

no need to mod!!! there are two powered usb ports on the back of the unit. when it senses hdmi, it turns on the usb ports and you can charge or power your usb device assuming 500ma is enough. not sure what it outputs, but it does charge a phone.
Where i can buy the lapdock charger?

So I just bought the GSM galaxy nexus from the play store (waiting to be shipped). I am seeing all of these car dock issues not having the POGO ect. My Epic 4G touch car dock uses the USB for music and charging (AUX and chargers plugs in back). Does anyone know if the usb with these types of docks will plug into other phones like this one and still get sound and power from the Dock? If so it might be worth looking into a mod? Just curious if this has already been discussed?
im sure it would work just fine if you managed to mod it precisely. personally i felt like the dock caused some wear on the usb port which is y i loved the idea of the pogo pins.
I am looking for a Car Charger that will fit for the Galaxy 10.1.
any recommendations?
Thanks!
Hello.
I picked up this charger (EZOPower 6ft 2-in-1 Samsung Tablet Data Charging Cable plus AC & Car Charger Power Adapter for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1) from Amazon and it works just fine. You also get an extra long cable with it. Hope this helps.
Cheers!
I bought (Samsung Galaxy Tab Detachable Car Charger with USB to 30 Pin Data Cable) from Amazon for 13 bucks. You basically get a car charger with a usb slot that comes with the data cable for the Tab/Note. So you can use the charger for your phone or other USB devices if you just swap out the cable.
Hi all,
Have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 running stock Android 4.4.2 I have used an OEM Samsung charger and cable always. But recently had to replace the charging port with an OEM charging port because it completely stopped recognizing the cable.
The install went well and the port works fine.
But I recently plugged in an OEM Samsung MHL HDMI adapter to watch movies on the tablet on my TV. Adapter works great!
The problem arises when I disconnect the HDMI adapter an then plug in the regular charging cable. The cable is not recognized. And it does not charge the tablet.
The tablet will ONLY charge if I use the HDMI adapter plugged in to the OEM Samsung wall charger. I have several OEM Samsung wall chargers and OEM charging cables, but the tablet will now ONLY charge with one specific cable attached to one specific charger and connected through the OEM Samsung HDMI adapter.
I used the adapter once on my Note 3 phone, and it has no troubles connecting to any other charger. But I amit, I am hesitant to attempt to try it again with the phone. I have lost the portability of my tablet now, since it will not accept my portable battery charger either.
Any ideas? Is there some sort of setting I have to change before disconnecting the HDMI adapter? I thought it was hot swappable, although I do not try removing it while it is sending. I turn off the tablet then remove it. Am I looking at doing another charging port install? Is this common with the Note 8?
Thanks for any help.

I had that happen as well not too long ago. Took the blasted thing apart and found that the MHL adapter's usb plugin to be cheap. Had broken internally. So I bought a cheap o replacement. Fortunately the replacment had a good quality usb port, so that said, should not have the same issue.
Think I have discovered part of my issue. The MHL HDMI adapter connector is considerably longer than the standard micro USB connector. This new Port is quite snug. Didn't think much of it after initial installation, just figured that old port was worn out. I think the snug fit may have allowed some shift of the port internally, even though it is screwed in. This small shift is just enough to prevent the micro USB from making proper contact.
I was able to utilize my portable battery pack when in the field with the tablet. Just connected the pack via the hdmi dongle. It worked.
Thank you for your insight.
