[Q/S] People/Contact-app crash - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time I start the program (or search in it), the program will be interrupted: "The application People (process com.android.htccontacts) har stopped Unexpectedly. Please try again".
I've tried everything (I think): Hard reset wipes, uninstall / install (Titanium) with / without data. What more can I do to get People to work again? (Can I possibly just install a new contacts-app? And if, where I get it?)
Found the solution:
Go settings>>applications>>manage applications, find people in the all tab, clear all data, then find contact storage and clear all data again, then reboot and try people app again
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to AndroHero

htc.launcher constantly crashes = phone useless

HTC desire, rooted, rom: payes 2.1 sense rom. used it for 5-6 months now with success.
previous to reboot: updated 4 apps (ES task mng, ES file exp, google transl, keepasdroid). network(edge) stopped working properly, so I though maybe a reboot would fix it.
after reboot:
"The application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try agin [button: Force close]"
only thing I can do is click force close, which just brings the message up again.. essentially I can't do a thing.
I can boot into recovery. I know how to use some adb commands (no expert, but can read write-ups and do it).
Help!! what to do?
edit:
* I can access power off (so taking battery is not nessesary - event though I'v done that too)
* after updating the apps above, I used the phone many hours. so networking hang hasn't anything to do with that I think. but those updates might be causing problems at boot??
* I'v tried taking out memory card - but same result
ok, should have done a search before I posted.
found a solution at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723218
"If you are locked up in a loop where HTC Sense acts up and starts to force close, use the search key and type the first few letters for "Applications". You should be able to access the Applications settings menu. Go into "Manage applications". Go into "HTC Sense" and tap "Clear data". This will erase all your Scenes but it's better than doing a hard reset."

[Q] Standard rom - Can't find or download any app from android market

Hi all,
I have a standard HTC desire on which I lately have problems with the android market app.
Yesterday I could not download any updates from installed apps - I got the "download failed, try again" message.
I tried to empty the cache from the market app, tried to restart the phone and I also found a suggestion to empty the android_secure folder on the sd-card. That didn't work either.
Then someone suggested I'd reset my phone to factory settings, but unfortunately without succes. Since doing that (both before and after restoring my backup'ed apps and data) I get the same message again. I am not able to update any app I have on my phone at this stage - they are displayed in the market app but downloading fails.
(I was at first able to select apps I already had installed on my phone from the market-website via my laptop browser and have them delivered to my phone, but that stopped working also - it weren't the updates anyway.)
Now every time I start the market app it crashes the first time I start it and then after restarting it displays the message "Application not found" for any app I select (either to be updated or new apps).
Anyone who can help me on this one?
Apparently the problem solved itself. I had the feeling the phone performed much slower though and did another reset to factory settings and since that everything works fine again!
Problem solved...

[Q] Market doesn't show my apps

I've got a problem with the Android Market whereby it will work as normal, allowing me to search for and download apps, but shows the error message "the server is not available..." whenever I select my apps. So, I can't see my apps at all.
I'm running AceSmod ROM and have cleared the market data but to no avail.
I found this in the logcat. Not sure if it helps...
"[24] BaseAction.run(): ApiException: com.android.vending.api.ApiException: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.AssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR
I/vending (16292): [1] BaseAction.displayErrorUi(): Server error in com.android.vending.MyDownloadsActivity$MyDownloadsLoader: com.android.vending.api.ApiException: Error from backend. Request=com.android.vending.model.AssetRequest, Response=INTERNAL_SERVICE_ERROR"
Any help would be appreciated.

android.process.media error even after factory reset and clear cache partition

I am running into android.process.media error even after factory reset and clear cache partition using recovery manager.
I followed all, possibly, the steps and procedures spread across the web like -
Clear the Data from Google Play Store, Google Service Framework, Download Manager, Media Storage.
Disable and Enable (after restart) Google Sync and Download Manager.
I also reset the phone multiple times and clear cache partition using recovery manager. But still I get the android.process.media error as soon as I try to download any app from the Google Play store.
Key observations -
1. In Media Storage app, Disable button is always grayed out even after reset and clear cache partition. Therefore I am not able to Enable/Disable the Media Storage app.
2. Once I disable the Download Manager, the error goes away. But starts appearing as soon as the Download Manager is enabled.
Phone Details -
Model - HTC One M8
Android Version - 6.0
Note: I am not using any SD card.
Please guys help me out to get rid of the problem :crying: :crying: :crying:
Thanks in advance
If your version has an RUU, that might solve your issue.
Do a fastboot getvar all, if you know how, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting)
