Hi there,
I am searching for a Thread with Dockbar? Taskbaricons like Battery, 3G, etc. because the Stock Icons are only white and ugly.
We can use this Thread where everyone can post his Icons and put a link on it where to become....
THX!
This is the only link you will need http://uot.dakra.lt/
I just whipped up a theme on that website not a complete fail but not flawless either

Mhhhh takes too long and if every User here post his Icons with thumbnails and the flashable zip Files its much easier!

Most of the zips people have will be created with uot. Physically creating your own by modding framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk and then creating a flashable zip is far more time consuming

I dont know if this is possible to make custom skins that we could choose with the skin chooser? Im thinking no but its worth a shot to ask right

Yeah, i was wondering about that too. As all themes this as well could be created. Question is, where you need to put the file. Guess it must be stored in an accessible dir somewhere. Injecting a new theme there should work i guess.

The ones from the above thread?
They work apparently (thread title).
Just install the .apk you downloaded.
You need flashing for the framework mod, rooted device, it tells in the instructions, if i read it right

I stand corrected. I thought he meant the skins for Sense thing.
You could install the frameworks without root though, by using wpthis.ko
(I think it's .ko)
Just run it, then adb push the framework to /system/framework.
You may need temp-root for this.
But of course, temp-root ain't perm-root
I figured it out. You have to add the framework into a flashable .zip - if anyone would like any of the status bars, let me know and ill upload the .zip's

The frameworks don't change the colour of the statusbar background, just the icon colours and what they look like.

You can check out the link posted earlier in the thread to download the .apk's containing skins. In order to get different status bar icons, you'll need to flash a new framework file via .zip in recovery. The frameworks can be applied to any skin you wish.
I'm currently using the Froyo status bar and am loving it. The best part is having the actual battery percentage overlaying the battery icon. I've uploaded the flashable .zip for this one if you'd like to give it a try. Just install via recovery (dont forget to make a backup if you want to restore to default).

Nice looking theme, but as it's for CM7, it'd be easier if you made it as an apk.

Easier for users to install, I mean. And if they don't like it, they can just uninstall it, unlike with the .zip file, where they'd have to restore a Nandroid backup.

Think your missing the signature of the apk, best to copy the classes.dex, reaources.arsc and the res folder over from the compiled apk to the original SystemUI.apk that you have

There are no tutorials for Sprint toggles specifically as the tutorials for the other devices work fine just need to port it. If I had the time I would take you step by step.
Next best thing I can suggest is download the stock MA7. Download my rom as well.
Download winmerge.
Decompile stock SystemUI.apk now rename it SystemUI.apkstock rename it in the projects folder as well.
Decompile my SystemUI.apk now rename that SystemUI.apkwhomp in projects folder as well.
Now follow the tutorial step by step carefully but instead of using notepad++ use winmerge with the stocksystemui file your editing on one side and the whompasaurus file on the other.
You will see the differences between the tutorial my version and stock. You will see how some of the register values change. I would still do some reading on smali and dalvik opcodes though if I were you the mods dont get any easier only harder. Toggles are relatively easy depending on your experience of course.
If you have questions while you are doing it. You know my gtalk.

Yeah I know you are anxious to get this going and out there for your ROM.
I forgot to mention when in winmerge you may see a ton of differences but just pay attention to the ones that the tutorial mentions and lets make sure the 23 toggles are 100% working before you move on to other mods.

How to extract Wallpapers out of a ROM
I did this a while ago while trying to help someone out. It was a really good exercise in learning some basics about apks and such.
First off, read through this thread. In my last post, post #7, I show where I found some wallpapers in the Freeza's stock Rom. I would assume that they would be in the same locations for a different Rom.
The procedure in pulling wallpapers out of a rom is outlined in this post.
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, my current Rom (Liquidsmooth) didn't come with any "built-in" wallpapers, so I can't show you how to do it through there, but that methodology should work for you.

Isn't it interesting how apks work? I found it quite amazing how simple everything was inside. It makes the idea of modding an app (by changing the various images in the apk) less daunting... Although, I know some apks need to be signed, and that can (sometimes) be an issue. I obviously haven't looked too much into it, but I had a good time searching through the apks when I did that exercise.
There are also wallpapers in /system/framework/framework-res.apk, probably never the current one, but wallpapers that come built in as well. That's how I extracted one from the S4 dump and set it as my wallpaper on my shift (see attached screenie)
@topherk - it's actually really simple to preserve the signature (when modifying an app that's not yours) once you know how to do it. What you do is, let's say you modified the apk by inserting your own modified images. To preserve the signature, you get a copy of the original apk (let's say framework-res.apk) and then open it in an archive viewer like 7Zip, then you compile the apk with your modified images and also open it as an archive next to the original. Then you copy the "res" folder from the modified apk into the "res" folder of the original, and BAM. Modified apk with the manufacturers signature
