I know, such a question is asked every day but since the froyo OTA was released many roms changed completly and many new roms were created, too.
Unfortunally I dont have the time to test all of them, so I just wanted to ask for your suggestions
Which froyo-sense-rom do you use and is it worth flashing?
I have to say that I really haven't used any other custom ROM, but I've stuck with LeeDroid too. I'm currently using 1.6a as it has been perfectly stable with lots of nice apps not included in other ROM's. I love it also because it's updated almost daily. I'm still using 1.6a since 1.7 is based on the official HTC Froyo ROM and it's not as stable yet. I'm waiting until it's as flawless as 1.6a and upgrading then
on stock froyo 2.2 rooted (hboot .80) cause I can't be flashing custom roms for fixes daily. Need a stable (doesn't have be super speedy) rom with froyo and rooted for everyday use!

Exactly the same for me atm - would like to have a daily useable rom which is built from the ota. Maybe I will give 1.7b a try
From the beginning I've only wanted root access with the stock HTC ROMs as my daily use. I rarely flash additions and whatever I do is for long term use. I don't have time for problems and fussing around with new variables, bugs and shortcomings. Stock MFG ROM releases generally have excellency in stability, consistency, integrity and reliability which is exactly what I'm after. So I'm using the rooted HTC 2.2 ROM. Every mod or hack I needed is working on it. Battery life is still excellent. I couldn't be happier.

im using nextsence, i usually prefer stock roms over custom roms but this one is sweet, its like the stock rom but with a cool theme
I'm currently using the LeeDroid 1.7 Froyo ROM. Its working a treat for me at the moment, not crashes or stability issues, my only concern is that when having to reflash ROM's all the time that I will keep losing my apps. Though i'm told this is not the case if you use A2SD/A2SD+
I tried flashing 1.7b, but got no APN and couldnt add them manually. So i switched back to 1.6a

I used to have CM on my g1 too for long time...
I really love the sense widgets - and I can't find good replacements for them in the market
Only one choice imo if you want a stable & fast Froyo Sense. Neophyte 1.6.
Seriously - I've tried nearly every Rom including LeeDroid and this one is so much better than all of them.
atm I'm using Leedroid 1.8.
Really stable Rom - didnt see any bugs yet...
Hi I'm coming from this roms:
1) stock latest: incredibly slow but stable;
2) leedroid froyo latest: a bit fast than stock but not so stable;
3) CM7.0.2.1 latest build 57: fast, I like it but I have two bugs: popup on virtual keyboard sometimes don't appear and I need to reboot to partially solve; the second bug is that in call some times I speak but other don't hear me ! Not at start of conversation, but during !
4) devnull 1.0.2: fastest absoutely ! but I need data/app2ext and italian language and more customization;
5) oxygen I have tried only 2.0.0: I'm not sure of this, it seams fast as devnull and more stable of CM7, but is less customizable than this;
And so: please I need an help to choose a rom that is stable like stock (1) without loosing basic function of phone, like bugs in CM7, and fastest as devnull.
If I need to install froyo 2.2.1 for stability I can install it, I neeed a rom that have data/app2ext and stable as stock.
So.........tell me ?
Can always try miui I've been using for months and best imho
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have RCMix S v09 installed and going to get V1.0 when A2SD is released of V1.0. It's fast and has lots of the new stuff, also from HTC Sense 3.0
fast,smooth and stable rom
redux rom ftw, if u need more memory flash dalvik cache 2 sd in the other downloads section.
RCMix S i the best
tnx all
InsertCoin forever ;-). Very fast and realy stable with a lot of stuff from sense 3.0.

personal taste
i'm giving RCMixS a swing as I would like to check out what's new in the latest Sense UI but I must say that MIUI (use XJ data2sd-xpart version) is the best ever. It's packed with features you can't imagine and it's beautiful in appearance department plus customizable. a large community that is ever growing too, makes this rom something to watch in the future.
one proviso, i'm finding that trying to run data2sd on a class2 sdcard is a nightmare after a few hours. the system becomes slow slow slower than bloatstock so just makes sure you have a class4 or higher sdcard and all will be as bright as miui apples
MIUI shiny apples >>> [ROM][MIUI] 1.4.29 +OTA GB2.3/2.2 [Multi Lang] XJ-D2EXT X-Part, A2SD/+, D2W + Add-ons
I am using InsertCoin 2.0.1 Data2Ext and it is stable, fast, smooth, and relatively bug-free (not important: over 2200 points in Quadrant).
I have tried DeFrost, RCmixHD, LeeDroid, etc....InsertCoin is so far the best I have tried. I haven't flashed any other ROM ever since.
MIUIs are a big NO for me...they are iPhone-ish..
Now I am waiting the maturity of the Android 2.3 new-Sense ROMs ...after that...it is flashing time again!...
Well, you said the most stable... Then RCMIX S, InertcoinS and all the GB/Sense ROMs are stable, but not as stable as the Froyo (HD ROM Ports) ones.
Try Gingervillain (if you don't need sense). It's fast, stable and customizible(I didn't have any problems with it since 0.7).
dj droid good rom
Oxygen 2.0.3 (which i got, now is 2.1.1.) but as you mentioned...depends what do you want to customize and how much =) (but its stable, fast, with great batt life and without sense and unuseful apps) choose wisely
[Q] Which Sense 3.0/3.5 ROM is fastest & Most Stable with Stock HBoot & A2SD++
Which Sense 3.0 or 3.5 ROM is the fastest and Most Stable with Stock HBoot & A2SD+
Please also post the link to the thread and if possible a step by step guide of what zips need to be flashed for the rom to work properly with my setup which is Stock HBoot with A2SD+ and a 1gb Ext3 SD Card Partition.
Im currently Using RevolutioN v2.0 A2SD+ By TamirDa
Ive tried using RevolutioN 3D By TamirDa and while it was everything i wanted from a sense 3.5 rom as pretty much almost everything worked yet main problem was it was LAGGING! I want a 3D spinning Homescreen Sense ROM with Photogrid Widget thats fast and stable. Thanks
I love how people post here and expect everyone else to do the leg work for them. Talk about McDonalds society!!
Let me tell you now, you are about to get suggestions of about four or five different ROMs, with each person vowing their suggestion is the best and everyone else is wrong. Where that will leave you, is still stuck at square one and needing to get off your butt and go try a few different ROMs and do some RESEARCH for yourself.
Sorry to sound harsh, but there are two or three threads just like this one posted every day. It's really not so hard to go looking to work out what works best for your own needs and wants in a ROM. Everyone has a different opinion on what is best, it is much simpler (and more educational) to just work through it yourself...
I think in this moment it doesn't exist Sense 3.0/3.5 ROM which is bug free AND smooth as Sense 2.1 ROMs.
What about Runnymede 5.0?? does it have any bugs? I'm planning on flashing it
Please share ur experiences.
It has a few standard bugs, as any other 3.5 ROM in this moment.
I HAVE tried other roms the point was to see other people's experiences its Nt that I'm lazy just to test some roms u have to be using one for a couple of days and with like almost 8-10 sense 3.0 / 3.5 roms out there it can take weeks of testing and re-configuring your homescreen etc
It will become very frustrating so trying to get as much information as possible before going crazy with flashing seemed like a good choice
IMHO it is the best to wait a little bit longer that developers polish those 3.0/3.5 ROMs.

tried 2 and still too slow...
we will have 2 wait.
Yeah, they are usable but often sluggish and also there are some irritating bugs too. But I am sure in shorter time developers will fix that.
Recently I have tried Runny 5.0, Runnymode007 and Revolution 1.5 with sens 3.0.
The ROMs with sense 3.5 I found a bug with the usb connection, everytime I pull down the notification menu the connection restarts. : (. Otherwise Runny 5.0 and Runnymode007 v3 are very fast. Noticed that Runnymode007 v3 has highest read/write speed (about 10MB/s) on sd card, if you have high class card of course. Also both of them have camera lag on video recording.
Revolution 1.5 with sens 3.0 is most stable and fast but doesn't have RCTweaks and u can't turn off CRT animations or something else u don't like.
I'm currently running Runnymode007 v3 mostly because the high speed of sd card.
Currently using Runnymede 5.0 cm7r2 ad2sdx. So far really quick, smooth and stable.
There is a new stock version too. I would recommend taking a look.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
3.5 is very laggy.
Sebs Runny Mede 4.0.3 SE - use C7/R2 Boot and set EXT4 to 1024 MB + and use AD2SDX. Super fast and stable. Revolution 2.0 was good but battery life could be better.
Revolution 3.0. But make sure you use the kernel in my signature!
Hello ppl, i recently got a desire for uhh, 100 bucks
and now i see that this device has lot of ROMs.
(i'm now doing the roots and installing the recoverys)
I was looking for something simple, because this is for my brother and he is not such a geek, i just want a rom that does not have freezes or reboots, that works smooth
Does the ICS ROMs already stable or i should go for GB?
thanks ppl!
CM7 no questions asked.
Make sure to S-OFF and flash cm7 hboot to get the most space for apps
used CM7 a long time, but the ROM i used the longest is InsertCoin v1.1.4 on Stock HBOOT.
It's fast and stable, just had one issue in over 6 months which could be resolved by flashing a kernel without two way call recording.
Cyanogenmod, or Oxygen which is more barebones. Or stock Sense ROMs should be stable also. Personally I dont care for sense that much.
ICS is not stable, there are still some issues that need to be ironed out.
Stick to GB, I would recommend any of Roalex's roms, they're fantastic, even his ICS rom, which from my experience is the Best ICS rom on the desire at the moment.
Thank you everybody, now i gonna try your suggestions!
I really also liked Roalex's updated Oxygen, but it has one problem, if you move an app to sd, you can't move it back to the phone. This is using the standard apps to sd function of android. Roalexe's Cyanogen based GB rom has this issue also. I also had to restore apn's from a backup to get 3g working on the CM version. So they might not be as rock solid as original cm or oxygen.
I'm used MildWild V-4.0 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 for about 2 to 3 months, I didnt faced single issue. This was my best ROM I have used..
Hi, I would tend to say Mildwild based on oxygen too. It is very stable. Mildwild CM is also nice but last version has bugs.
First, I would say, that it's ur choice.
Everybody says Oxygen is quiet good, but in my opinion, it's very ugly.
So CM will be nice, too. But u have to choose by ur self which rom is better 4 u.
The Gingerbread (Android 2.3.7) version of MIUI_Au (v. 2.1.13, which you will have to google as newcomers are stupidly barred from posting outside links) is also very stable, fast, and quite aesthetically pleasing, so you might want to give it a go.
Dont want to seem like a broken record but this is my post on another thread.
I know it's still in beta but Im using ICS .10.1 by Sandvold, very stable, no issues with the mass of apps I have installed and battery is great, better than stock I find. The ROM is fast and responsive again better than stock. Tried a few GB roms and sense roms but this is the best so far.
For various reasons I have gone back to these ICS roms, battery life, BSOD's and FC's. I've tried Runny roms and MUIU though still have serious issues on my phone. Running the current rom I could pretty much not update or change it and would be happy with it. Very stable, smooth and no BSOD's since latest update. Worth considering IMO.
Insetcoin is great, I'm on that ROM very long and its smooth and stable.
People claiming ICS ROM's at the moment are the most stable are seriously brain damaged..
3 biggest issues with all of them = broken video recording, no usb tethering, sluggish (unless you use only few apps and dont need a dalvik 2 ext scripts)
Also the "Full HWA" is still a hack.
I'm not saying they are bad, but they cannot be considered as "most stable" by any means.
The most stable ROM's by now, are the AOSP ones based on Gingerbread. (CM7, Oxygen etc.)
Ok maybe they are not "eye candy" out of the box, but if you spend some time to theme it then you'll be surprised, and you actually dont need Sense or ICS ROM's to achieve it.
Some examples. http://mycolorscreen.com/popular/
Hi,
I've been using mildwild V4.0 oxygen since it is out and I'm very pleased with it.
It is stable and fast. Sometimes I miss some sense functions like rolling numbers when setting the alarm clock. But when i use a sense rom, i realize how fast mildwild really is
The best is to try some Roms. Everybody has his own preferences.
I suggest mildwild v4.0 oxygen too
Runnymede AIO V6.0.4.3 Special Edition or MildWild CM 4.8
If you want ICS, BCM 3.7U0 but of course it's not the most stable ROM but I'm telling you this ROM is great although it says your sd-ext must be less than 1.5Gb but I'm using it with 2Gb sd-ext 4 on a class 4, 16 Gb sd card with no problem at all. Trust me on these if not the most stable only because of the usb tethering and 15fps video recording, this ROM is the most performance sucker I ever had my benchmark on quadrant advance is 1708 with this ROM and I didn't even overclock my cpu but on a stable gb ROM my benchmark was 998 with the same app.let me point out that I have 132 apps installed on the ICS but I only had 87 apps on the gb ROM.
And with mods I have made it too look like this:
I might be a new XDA-Developers user but it doesn't mean that I'm new to using its stuff, it only means that I have been dumb enough to just use and never comment!!
Hope I could Help

i ussed RSK 7.4.3 is pretty stable and guick...
MildWild V4, based on Oxygen
I need my DHD for work, I have currently the prime Sabsa Rom 8.5 and I've tried a few and I can not find one that is stable, without restarts and without stay frozen, from time to time. I have bad luck or may not have an updated rom without these problems?
Any advice?
1. wrong thread!? how can you miss that lol.
2.something that you are doing is making the rom reboot or its a bug, post the problem to the thread. maybe they can help you
Wrong thread. But if you need stable rom you should try any GB based rom e.g. Energy, RevolutionHD,LeeDroid and so on. Do not install ICS based rom 'cause they are not stable enough for daily use or have some minor bugs which can drive crazy.
The only stable, fully working sense roms are the sense 3.x roms.
Affinity
Android Revolution
etc.
All the ICS roms except Icecoldsandwich have major or minor bugs like camera issues, dialer issues or non working headset buttons.
So, if you want a stable rom I'd personally recommend a sense 3.5 rom.
Try aospx by existz. I found it very stable. Ran it for weeks now issues. Now I have moved on to jelly time.
Sent from my Inspire 4G
try official cm7 or official HTC roms.
and move this thread some1.
the most stable ics rom I find is Existz AOSP. it's located in the inspire development :good:
In the end I did was to format the SD card, hacele one full Wipe, install the rom 8.0 and then the 8.5 and after a week I work very well.
Thanks for your interest.
Jellytime is very stable ive only had one reboot since i started to use it..
