Is there any way to increase the font size of the incoming call ID?
Meaning that for instance, when in car and the phone rings, it's difficult to read the number is the caller is unknown or the name of the caller without bringing the phone to a close distance. A friend of mine, owner of an Iphone, has much bigger font fot incoming calls that it's more convenient. I want to change only the incoming call ID font size, not the overall font size of the phone via spareparts.
Is there such a possibility ?
Device Info : Desire HD Rooted.
You could either edit the voicedialer file yourself or simply use a third party app. I prefer you to use the 2nd method.

Which third part app would you recommend? I had searched the Market, but could not find any suitable.
I'm not (never) using one but I can recommend you the Fullscreen Caller ID. The interface can be fully customized especially the font size.

its a windows mobile app, but replaces the stock dailer and contacts..
i loved it because you can have a full screen incoming call wallpaper...
i would like to know if there is something similar for the Android...

yeah with the samsung dialer ,if you lose the screen during conversation, its hard to hang up. I need to open up another dialer and call new number then end call.
You can end a call from the status bar. Just pull it down when a call is in progress

If you have a blank screen press the on-off button to restore screen... works for me.

Yes I miss iconsoft as well. I had it on my touch HD and loved it. The stock dialer on samsung is like a joke. Its pretty amateurish.
For full screen caller id search it in the market. There is an app which does that. I use it and like it a lot. Its a paid app by the way ~3.99$
It ´d be a good ideia if we could port HTC Dialer...
if i assign a pic from the photoalbum it has a lower resolution than if i edit a contact and choose from the album. same pic and crop, of course. why? you can see the difference in the contacts widget. how to get hi res in first case?

I was wondering why no one has asked this. I have the same issue... so photo caller ID also looks horrible. I found when I assign a photo to a contact, it stays high-res for a bit and then becomes low-res. Anyone has a solution for this?
This is because when you sync your contacts to Google, it automatically reduces the resolution. Read http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4147 . Solution I found were to either stop contacts sync completely or to create an additional contact in phone memory, add a high quality photo and then link your Google contact with that new phone contact.

Is it possible to resize the photo when you make a call?
Is that I find that the size of the picture when a call is very small and there was enough room for larger.
When I had the HTC Magic, made a modification of contacts.apk making the picture was bigger.
Does anyone know it?

Hey, there a application on the market called fullscreen callerid which makes that image fullscreen which could be what your looking for.

I'm have an HTC desire with oxygen 2.1.1 (android 2.3). I always change my dencity from 240 to 200, but unlike most 3td party apps, android apps does not fit its size to the current dencity. For an exemple the dialer pad. So I installed another dialer that does, but the phone still uses the stock dialer pad during calls.
Is there a way to fix or replace the stock phone.apk and contact.apk So that I have a working dialer pad during calls also?

The wife has a problem reading her contacts on her htc wildfire s. All attempts to increase the font size have failed. Although apps exist to increase the size of the sms text or browser text none seem to enlarge the font size in the contacts page.
When looking for a replacement mobile there appears little information regarding the font size in contacts.
Can anyone suggest a solution.

If your rooted, you can try apps like absolute system root tools to change the system font to something easier to read. But without root. You can't touch system files
