Wow! The camera is now working for the new sense.
The new official versions of those new sense roms will come out very soon (Robociks RCMixHD and Desire Z Port).
Now, I am confused :
To rotate or not to rotate?
Anyone can help me decide?
Personally I don't like the look of it in Landscape so I'll say HD
Not followed the camera progress for a while so if it's working I'll be rooting again soon
I was going to ask the same question!. I can live without 720p for the time being - seems a minor fix compared to actually getting the camera working in these ROM's.
I am currently running Teppics ROM and i do like it but i am very tempted to try another!
Can i just ask what is the rotating part you are talking about? - I have not kept up with the ports until the camera issue was resolved?

The HTC Sense can be viewed in a landscape mode in the Z ROM.

to be honest, the rotating kind of annoys me, so i'm a HD rom man.
the MT4G rom is also interesting and worth a look if you want to try something a bit different. really fast too.
Hmmm....it seems rotation is not to everyone liking..
720p is also a minor problem for me as long as I have the camera working because I need the camera for emergency use when I don't have my Panasonic FZ38 with me.
Is there a speed difference between Z and HD?
My Mistake, ignore this reply
*This*
Never use 720p as it's terrible on the Desire so it doesn't bother me - just a working camera will do the job!!
All flashed and working fine
aaa said:
If I am not mistaken, MT4G is a non-Sense ROM.
I have tried Cynogen about two weeks ago, I like the speed but I got the impression that I was not holding an HTC Desire on my hand because the Sense was missing and Sense is a kind of a birth mark on every normal HTC Desire.
That is why I use Leedroid instead

I wanna have everything functioning but again as said, it is only a minor problem, something I can live with.
Yup, very bad...the recording quality is pathetic.

Have you find any issues or bugs (the laggy 720p is already known)? Notification LED?
According to forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818392 : "Rom is cleaned of bloatware."
Do you know :
What are/ is the bloatware/s? or what is missing or removed?
One of my fav mod now is the DSP manager and I am currently using Leedroid 2.2f, does the DSP thing works on that ROM?

the bloatware was all the t-mobile junk and game demos/apps etc
DSP manager isn't working on this rom at the moment
(but the dev is very helpful and will probably try to fix it if you ask him nicely )
In my opinion the rom kernel isn't the best, I've tried quite a few over the weeks and coutts99 kernel remix is the best so far (now with audiomod to boost the sound)
there is a promised new release version later on tonight so if you're thinking of flashing this rom hang on for a few hours...!

I will definitely wait.
I want the new sense badly
It doesn't have to be the same DSP manager as I use at the moment as long as I can adjust the audio quality as I please.
I have tried the HD Rom 3 weeks ago, but switched back to Leedroid because of the camera was not working.
Now the camera is working, I can live with the 720p problem.Although, I am still hoping that the 720p problem will also be fixed soon.
This is a port of the leaked ROM from the HTC Sensation (new Sense 3.0 device), for the G2/DZ. I have to emphasize, this ROM is far from usable and is largely intended for consumption by other developers. The reason is that the Sensation is a qHD device (960x540 resolution), where our G2/DZs are WVGA. All the alignment is off to the point where key UI elements are frequently off the screen.
Notes about the changes:
- Full wipe of data is REQUIRED prior installing the ROM.
- /system/app relocated to /data/system.app and symlinked back (to make it fit).
- Uses select libs/bins from the Gingerbread leak for G2/DZ (2.30.405.1)
- Kernel 2.6.35.10 from the Gingerbread leak for G2/DZ.
- Added my modded Superuser.
- Removed HTC's Lockscreen (you simply cannot unlock with it in place).
Again, substantial work will be required to make this usable. Please do not download it unless you intend to: a) just tinker with it for fun, b) to start working on adjusting the images and layout for our resolution.
Download Here
(MD5: 94f21ac4d4f90360c914559c18322748)
Reserved for future use.
Although this is highly unusable I love that you have ported it to the G2! Best of luck fixing issues!
this looks fun to play with **Clicks thanks button**
They have it (alpha) on the Desire HD ... I posted the link in the Sensation Dev thread.
If that is WVGA, isn't there a way to pull their resolution and use it for the Vision?

They're in the same boat right now. If it gets fixed on any device, we can pull the changes over easily.
First off...Dude thanks for jumping on this so soon....I think the Sensation is the only thing in the market out or coming out, that would make me even consider dropping my G2. It seems like a sweet piece of hardware, and that Sense ROM looks awesome! (and I am not a big sense fan, yet!)

Wold LCD Density have anything to do with this....LCD Density is akin to resolution on a reg monitor, so could you modify LCD to get more "surface area"?

Hi all.
I had the Cool Sensation v6 in my Desire, but now I switched to MIUI, 1.7.22 dev release.
My only complaining is that the MIUI automatic brightness really sucks, while the Cool Sensation version is too much better.
So, do you know how to pick automatic brightness values from cool sensation and put them to MIUI? It would be very great!
Plz help me
I would like to know this also. I want to use auto brightness in MIUI but dont like how it changes.

If you are talking about the latest build, Android Revolution 7.0.0 is using that that if I am correct.
PKMN rom. stock base but with so many tweaks and different ways to theme the rom like change the color of the icons in status bar like clock and so on and stick wallpaper on the notification bar menu and etc.
or try one of the many AOSP roms my friend
Pkmon
try some
i really like revolution hd 7.0.0. (7.1.0 beta, soon. )
why don't you try a few and then decide for yourself?
once you're unlocked, rooted and with recovery, it's easy and fast to switch. and you better choose the right one early so you don't have to make extensive backups... unless that is what you like.

Yeah, waiting for ARHD 7.1.0 too, it is said that it will bring some cool stuff with it. It's a matter of trial and error to discover which ROM is the most suited.

I've tried just about all of them and was not an HTC/Sense guy before my HOX (Pure ICS in my previous Skyrocket.)
My $0.02: InsertCoin - best mix of speed, just enough Sense and good battery life. ARHD is a close 2nd but is a bit slower and not as good on battery.
InsertCoin has a similar 'Options' app that lets you make changes on the fly without having to reflash and go through Aroma just to add/change/remove options.
Either way...flash a bunch & give 'em a shot.
Try the repacked kernels for each too...you'll be happy with what you find.

Different how? All the other Sense ones are "different", but we don't know what you want, or dislike about Viper.
You could try the faux kernel with the gaming governor thing that hamdir won't shut up about

Hello I am looking for a stable ROM with ICS or any android 4.0+ version because I need a T9 dialer in hebrew which is built in any android 4.0+ version.
And why do I need it stable?
well... the phone is going to be belong to my sister and I am going to have the HOX+(maybe not quite sure yet) and she is not going to play with ROMs flash them during the night and look for the best for her and update the ROM every week so thats why I need it stable...
and guys dont worry our HTC is kind of old but still good but my sister is walking around with Samsung 514!!!
I really want her to be impressed with android (although it does not matter what UI he have as long its not AOKP because i didnt love it )
thank you for you help time, thinking and for reading this despite my bad english(i can wait 2 weeks tops)'
ho one last thing i know there are 3rd party apps at the store the provide the T9 dialer but its still 3rd party abit laggy and slow
Stable 4.0+ ha you must be new here.

All ICS+ ROMs are in a alpha / beta stage for the Desire... they can never be as stable as you would like them to be because of inherent device driver and resource limitations in our phone. Having said that, I use Sandvold http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355660. It is a decent daily driver for me, but has a major bug once in a while. You would need to debug for your sister on such occasions.

You are contradicting yourself. Stop recommending something as stable when it's clearly not.
People will never learn there are no but's when something is stable.

PS: I edited my earlier post to remove the word stable
what about the miui he is in beta level but he is there because it gets updated almost every week can any one recommend on that?
and do you guys think that even in 2 weeks no stable roms will appear?

OK, there's the thing. If you are looking for a stable ics+ or ics+ with sense, your out of luck. The htc desire will not be able to support it with help from htc's own engineers/developers. However, if you are willing to use a fairly buggy rom, just pick any and see how you like it. In short, stop asking and just do it. Enjoy flashing.

If you want her to be impressed with Android, don't flash any ICS/JB as they are filled with various problems that noobs keep on making threads about them. You don't want your sister to have that impression that Android is a crappy OS don't you?
Stable? Go with AOSP CyanogenMod7 or Oxygen roms or at least anything that is based on those roms. Yeah it's Gingerbread but it's a fully working OS. They aren't eye candy but you'll have little to no complaints coming from your sister about this or that not working.
