Does anyone know how the Dock App works in the DINC 2? I want to purchase a dock, but I can't find any info on it. I can't find the app in on the phone, but I have seen it in my running apps before. A screen shot or two would be a nice bonus

You can access the dock mode by going to the home screen then hitting the search key searching for dock and the application will be at the top of the list in bold letters.

THANX SHOOT ME WORKED without ROOT even though it said ROOT required but landscape doesnt work im using the launcher 2(nexus one 2.1),i guess ROOT enables it or jus another special setting.thanks
You can also try Helix launcher from the market. It works in landscape without root and has a nice permanent dock bar at the bottom for your most used apps. Pretty convenient despite being a derivative of the iphone. It still feels like Android
Cool ill give it a shot on the helix launcher

One of the things I miss most from winmo is that, on WinMo, you always can access your 'all programs' drawer from the notification bar/start menu. You could use your phone heavily all day and only see the Home screen once.
I've searched high and low for an Android equivalent, but find nothing. Anyone know of anything?
Closest I've found is multitask manager, it attaches to search button, and let's you put preferred apps in it, but you can't put 'launcher' or 'rosie' in it.
Anyone know what I'm trying to describe? Or have any suggestions ?
Thanks
Also, I just realized this is probably in wrong subforum, toast or MOD, feel free to move it. Thanks. Sorry.

i am not sure the question here. are you saying you want it so that you have to go to the home screen to launch the app draw or are yous aying you dont want to have to go to the home screen to launch the app draw?
I am not sure what you are using but i dont have to go to the home screen to launch app draw. also you may try playing with launcher pro you can set up the dock to have apps on it. i use a combination of app organizer and launcher pro. I have the favorites group mapped to my dock and then i can favorite apps and get to them from that dock button. Works well for me.
I think you can set up the Power Strip app to show your app drawer.

He means he wants a universal way to access the app drawer from anywhere. In WinMo, the start icon / app drawer is always on the status bar.
Yeah, awardtour, you nailed it. Thanks. I see i accidentally used a double negative in my OP, making it confusing.
Yeah, i want to be able to launch my app drawer from the notification bar, or search button (any 'button' that is always present).
I use adw EX and LPP a lot, but have never found a way, within android, to acheive this functionality. If anyone knows, please share. Thank you.

I'm not sure of the name, but I'm pretty sure there's a gesture based app launcher on the market (or maybe here) somewhere that allows you to program a gesture to a app launcher so no matter what you're doing you can swipe the gesture and have an app menu come up. I'll see if I can find it for u.....

Zeam launcher has something like that, but you'll have to be on one of your homescreens though...

Alright, this is what I was thinking of. Create a list of apps, call up via gestures from anywhere.

It actually looks pretty cool. I think I'm gonna buy it. I'll report back and give my opinion

Hey, I tried wave launcher, its free on getjar right now. Its EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! !!! Thanks for the suggestions. You can launch the wave no matter where you are (i.e. browser, messaging, app, etc) and and can have the app drawer button on the wave.
Hell, without even using the wave aspect, if you just hold the hotspot for a sec (to launch wave) it'll automagically open app drawer! !!!! Pure awesomeness. Just thought I'd share and thank.

Hey folks,
I've been wondering what was the purpose behind the hidden dock bar really? I haven't been able to find a use for such a feature. In most case I'd something like FileCrypt...
Wanted to know what you guys thought?...
It's an extra dock bar where you can add more app shortcuts and not clutter up your home screen

Yeah I get that part also... But I have way to many apps I access on a regular basis so... no real usefulness.
Different strokes for different folks.

That doesn't mean it's not useful to someone else.
Hidden doc
I used it to keep my desktop clean looking. No apps in the main doc and kept my apps on the hidden doc. That way I could have a really niche desktop pic with maybe a clock on it and one or two other information widgets and no other icons. I could just swipe and there's my doc.
I'm looking to download the previous version any ideas?
I searched but didn't see anything on this.
There is a blue pull tab thing on the left hand side of my screen. I want it gone, but can't find out how to get rid of it.
Thanks!
There's a ton of threads already on this. ..

It allows you to access the multi-window feature of the NII, for accessing 2 apps at the same time.
To be fair its not a particularly well advertised feature and with little to no instruction a lot of people won't know what it is for.
But it is for split screen mode.
You can drag apps to the top of bottom part of the screen from that bar to run two apps side by side.
I'm absolutely loving my S III, but there is one major thing that is annoying the hell out of me, and I can't figure out how to resolve the issue:
whenever I plug my S III into the charging dock, a light blue screen saver comes up with a calendar, weather, and four icons at the bottom that seem to be unchangeable. I have looked all through the settings, and whenever I thought I found the setting to disable it, it still comes up. I tried looking for a file using root explorer and Titanium Backup that I could freeze or disable it, but I can't find it. :banghead:
Can someone please help me get rid of this damn screen? I would certainly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for any help!

It's part of the main TW clock app, in case you want to freeze it.

Thanks for the swift reply! TW clock? I did a search through Titanium Backup and that doesn't come up in my searches. Is there another name for it? Sorry to be so dense!
EDIT: I found it; it was called clock 1.0. I froze it and now it doesn't come up, but TuneIn Radio does! I'll fish around and sort this one out on my own, though.
Problem solved!
Thanks, Swiftks!
