Mic issues on miui? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I am running MIUI and the Tiamat kernel and when I go to use tango to make a video call I can view the other person clearly and hear them clearly and they can see me clearly, but the other person can not hear what I am saying at all. I have checked to make sure I have the speaker turned on and checked some other settings in both tango and the phone but I can not figure it out. So is there a known issue with the mic on miui or is there just a setting I'm neglecting to observe? Thanks.

If you have a headset in yes, its a known issue

Same issue here while running CM7, both with and without Tiamat. My first video call the Mic worked but a cell call to the video call recipient(pc) was made first. They hung up their cell when the video got going but mine held(cell) for the duration of the video session. Hopefully with the HTC sense kernel source release better audio will be experienced in aosp kernels. For now I'm not having any issues with RMK's Gingersense.

im running cm7 and i have the exact same issue, i guess is a known issue ive been waiting for a fix too
Put on me on the list as "Waiting for the fix" as well. I'm on CM7...
We have to turn our phones sideways when video calling. It might be a problem with every AOSP rom

Mic doesn't work on phone calls with cm7 and tiamat 1.1

When I call someone they can't hear me. They only hear static. Can anyone help?

If your talking about having headphone in while calling, then this is a known issue. They haven't fixed it in the rom yet. If you talking about normal, you might want to re-wipe everything and re-install cm7 and tiamat.
Yeah I'm talking about normal.... ugh. I don't want to wipe and do everything over again

Jb video calling?

I was using liquidsmooth and qik doesn't show at all or work from Google play... tango and Skype both work but the other party only hears feedback from my end... is there any fix for this or is it just something wrong on my end?

I've been having similar issues with different apps. For example, Electronic Arts' Monopoly is no where to be found in the PlayStore. When I try to install from the backup I made with ROM ToolBox, I get an application incompatibility message. It only happens to me on JB ROMS. I wonder if it is an issue with the JB base roms or if it is that these apps have not being updated to work on JB; thus the incompatibility message.
I also tried searching for QIK and couldn't find it.
I guess people don't video call here.. I'm surprised that no comments either working or not are posted yet....

I'll try Skype when I go home in an hour. Do you mean that you can't hear the other person? I think I've had that issue long back, but I'll try when I get back home

Recent ROMs that depend on DSPManager have terrible audio quality

Has anyone else noticed this? I've tried LiquidSmooth RC8, the latests Paranoid Android, and the newest SlimROM. They all must be based off the same ROM, because audio quality is equally horrendous. I notice that in the Settings > Sound that there is an option to select between MusicFX and DSPManager. However, none of these applications seem to have any affect over the audio, whatsoever. I am surprised that the BASE audio wouldn't be the same as every other ROM. Shouldn't these EQ/DSP add-ons just allow you to modify the stock flat-EQ? Most people would probably want a flat EQ anyways, because their audio ends up on the car stereo, or some other device that already has these controls.
With that said, are you guys noticing the same thing? I absolutely cannot get Pandora or Spotify (haven't tried any others because I don't care,) on these new ROMs. I hope this isn't what the latest CM10 offers, because I am about to flash to that now.
Oh man, I just loaded up the latest CM10 stable and it has the same problem... At least DSPManager can modify the EQ for the entire system, not app-specific. Even still, it sounds nowhere near as good as it did before. While I'm flashing my phone I am playing feeding the same Beacon "The Phoenix" audio cube on my desk with my Transformer TF300T and it is shaking the whole surface with bass, and sounds very full. I played with all the EQ settings, and went manual and got nothing remotely close using my S3 with these ROMs.
Just restored my CM10 11/7/2012 nightly and it has flawless audio over bluetooth--but other issues like missed calls, etc
You silly op you.that's backwards dspmgr is simply part of the general aosp experience and all aosp roms recently developed that bug

I dug through quite a view AOSP-based ROM threads and could not find anything. I don't understand how anyone could possibly use these ROMs with that horrifying bug?
Freeze or uninstall DSPmanager then install a new audio engine (I use team AC!D's), problem solved.
EDIT: I've never had that happen before but I always freeze that app and I've been using AC!D audio mod since the beta for this phone.

I just bought power amp and all of my songs are extremely low quality. This doesn't seem to be a problem on aokp for my cousins s2. Wonder if its an s3 only deal.

Its terrible...I cant even use any of these ROMS because of this!
I don't have issues over wire, but Bluetooth is borked in aosp. Due to the transition to 4.2 don't expect quick fixes so.... I moved to a tw rom mainly because of bt and ril related battery drain.......
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Is this supposed to be a 'feature?' If so? They should remove DSPManager and let us decide. I would always prefer some flat EQ so that I can process it elsewhere.
I have 2 sg3's one Jelly Bombed and one CM10 based. Side by side TW BT sounds better. 1 fix for CM10 is after starting BT audio go to your phone and make a call (I just dial 123) then hang up as soon as it connects. Viola, bass is back and audio is tolerable... hope this helps you out

Skype and Nexus 4

Hey guys, so I was wondering who else is having problems with Skype on their N4. I know I am because when I use Skype, after about 4-5 minutes into a conversation, my side gets cut off, the conversation becomes choppy, and my friends always complain why they cannot hear me. Our simple fix so far is just reestablishing the call, but that gets annoying (especially since we are usually on a game and chatting). Anyone else suffering problems with Skype?
Kind of a stupid question, but is it hardware failure (like my mic just randomly gives out on Skype) or is it just the app itself?

Try Google Hangout. If you still have the problem, it's likely a system issue. In all likelihood it's a Skype issue. Maybe un install and reinstall?
No issues with Skype here except for high battery usage.
I use Skype for about an hour every day it consumes about 30-40% of the battery.

I have tried that, but still does not work for me. Still get that problem. I am already starting to think it could be a hardware issue because of the person who posted below (Who I am quoting also).

Weird. Are you still using stock ROM or a custom ROM? If a custom ROM, which one? I am currently running on Android 4.2.1 (Stock ROM). I am even attempting to reflash the stock ROM to see if it would be resolved.
I use MoDaCo custom rom and no issues with Skype, both in 3G and Wi-Fi

Sorry, this is a stupid question, but what's RMA?
Also, I'm sure it's not an earpiece defect because it's the mic that acts up while I use Skype. Whenever I talk with them, I'm always using headphones. So I think I should be more worried about the mic.

I'm not going to lie, I had this issue as well on 2 calls with Skype in the past week, but I thought it was an issue with my Internet connection. Now I'm wondering what's going on exactly. Is there any way to test something like this? A faulty mic? How would one go about testing that if it's not a consistent sort of thing?

The same cut off probleme for me.
I use the CM10 nightly.
i ll try the stock to see.
I'm on stock ROM and have no trouble with Skype. I've used it for about 30 minutes on video calling, but it wore my battery down as well as used a lot of data. No doubt, the video and sound quality were both excellent.
Using CM10.1 made video call yesterday okay.

Yep this happened to me a few times before. Im guessing its the app ..
when the skype voice call goes into someone's voice mail nexus hangs
Hi everyone, I have a strange problem with skype on my nexus4; I have a nexus 4 running the stock 4.2.1 running and everytime i call someone if they pick up the phone everything's okay, but if they don't pick the phone and it goes to voice mail, my nexus 4 hangs and it does not become responsive unless i power the phone off and back on, and all this while the voice mail keeps going on. Similarly if the other party does not hang the phone the call just stays on and phone hangs again, i know this is a really weird one, please do let me know if anyone has seen this or something similar before.
I am stock 4.2.2 (no root) and have only used it once (short audio call). Worked OK except bluetooth is broken with old headset (phone audio profile), which works great on Nexus S using Skype and Nexus 4 with the native SIP client.
Skype has been a hit and miss with the various versions over the past few years and much more unstable since Microsoft got their hands on it.
