help needed

Hi i have tried to install a new rom using rom manager and cyanogen 6,
i am now stuck with a desire which starts to load ok, white background htc sign then a lovely multi coloured screen which makes a x sign but it just continues to make the x sign and the phone is stuck!
Thanks for any help guys!
Have you updated the Radio for your new rom?? if you can get it into bootloader then drop a radio update (rename to update.zip) onto onto the Root of your SD, then after then and you can get into bootloader again, download the ROM you want (rename to update.zip) and drop that on the root of the SD and do the same again, should be fine after that

You need to make a goldcard to bypass this issue. If you only have 1 card then make sure you format the card after installing your rom. I have the same issue when installing stock roms. Apparently this goldcard method works better.

[Q]Problems w/ Installing Sense 3.5 CM7/r2 Roms

This is with regard to the problem discussed in the following thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1291755.html
Did someone solve this issue?
I am currently facing the same issue.
Thanks

Steps followed to flash ROMs,
1. Backup current nandroid
2. Delete cache, delete user data, delete dalvik cache
3. Reboot
4. Install ROM
5. Install the rom converter.zip
6. Reboot
I tried the following ROMs and each had there own issues,
1. Cool3D-AceS-v6-bravo - After flashing HTC logo, it shows "Quitely Brilliant" text and device reboots. This repeats endless times unless its brutally switched off by removing battery.
2. Cool3D-Runny-v5-bravo - After flashing HTC logo, it shows "Quitely Brilliant" text and also shows beat animation. By time I felt everything is gonna be alright, screen goes blank and remains dead. Again this needs brutal switch.
3. Blink v1.0 - After reboot, screen hangs showing HTC logo.
For all the above ROMs, i waited patiently for about 45mins only to see HTC logo...
Currently I am using Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 for recovery.
Lastly and sadly I have restore "Android 2.3 Upgrade" (Gingerbread) to get my device back in shape.
Folks anybody can help me on this............
Thanks in advance,
SMK
Did you create an ext partition on your SD card?
The essential requirement for all these ROMs is a sdcard partitioned to xx FAT32 + 1gb Ext4.
If there is no Ext4 partition, it won't work.
Thanks Guys, It worked....
Had to wipe cache and flash stock_hboot later..........

Can i try to downgrade HBOOT and flash Stock Froyo RUU?
Update on this issue
Hi,
I tried to S-OFF using revolutionary 0.4pre4 windows, but the phone is not recognised in fastboot usb mode and i get the message "waiting for device...."
Is this phone bricked?
Thanks and regards,
Aravindan
depends on rom. maybe you have to partion your sd 1. partiton fat32 and 2. partition ext3 or ext4 (ca 1,5 GB; min 1GB max 2GB) for dalvik cache to sd
Check this guide if you haven't seen this yet.

Thanks stankyou.
Yes, i tried my options based on that post.
My Phone had stock rom Gingerbread 2.3.3 with S-ON.
I tried flashing the Stock ROM and it went through fine no errors throughout the process.
But once the phone rebooted after flashing, it was still boot looping.
My phone is recognized on my laptop at HBOOT menu but when it goes into fastboot it is not recognized.
Refridgerator trick?
Going to try Refridgerator trick (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134062&page=2) today.
Keeping my fingers crossed X
Update: It did not work :-(
