I have installed Clockworkmod. whn i click on RECOVERY BOOT inside CWM, my motorola reboots & after showing up RED moto logo it freezes on a BLANK SCREEN.
If i boot manualy by holding down Power on + UP vol. key.. it shows me deafult boot menu.. But it doesn't show Clockworkmod Boot window.
But how do i install this call_recorder.zip in my Motorola Defy ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994570&highlight=call+recorder
I want a call recorder that will record both sides voice.. and not only incoming voice. Im NOT using Chinese rom.
im using MB525 (Defy) 2.2 Froyo, rooted.
bump.. help please
can any make a Defy app like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806451
i solved this problem.
I just had to SET USB Debugging OFF.
Thank to this > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15976080#post15976080
And what do you have working call recording ?
yes im using audio files from Chinese rom. My phone used to record only incoming voice, but not mine.
Now it records my sound as well without needed to keep phone on speakerphone.
Im using Total Recall to record calls.
Hmmm ... interesting , I'll try it soon .
With or without beeps?

Hi,
Interesting subject indeed.
If I install only the zip from the OP, I will not be able to record; only with that other apk installed - right?
If so, it might be less interesting to have to start an apk (or leave it running) to record calls. That was part of my Chinese stock Froyo dialer: just one button touch for 2-way record...
But I've long left Froyo for CM7.
I will try this with cm7 soon.
Can the recorder be altered to mute the beeps right away without pressing '4' ?
Edit: Tried, but doesnt work due to a wrong Update-Script.
Could anyone try to make a new zip with the ne "Edify" scripting out of this one?
Edit2: i just converted the script myself. Seems to work, just booting.
those libs r from froyo Chinese. Dont if it work in CM7, u shud ask author.
I converted the script but after install i had a bootloop. Perhaps i missed something with the defy's mounts.
is it work on CM7 or MIUI ? i need call recorder, if it don't work on CM7 or MIUI, i will back to froyo
No, not yet. So stay on froyo.
Yes, i would like this on CM7 too, i added it up in the main CM7 thread to the devs but no response, lets post there to get the devs attention.
remove 10 second beep automatically with tasker
hey guys, not sure if someone has posted this already, but
To get rid of the beeps every 10 seconds AUTOMATICALLY, i used the Tasker app to auto press a button after 3seconds.
tasker can detect that the phone has just started a call, and then will execute any action, e.g. press a button or send a keystroke or even start recording audio.
Tasker setup:
Task Context type: Event -> Phone -> Phone Offhook (priority = normal)
Task Actions: Wait (3 secs); Type ( "*" )
this just waits for 3 seconds after (incoming or outgoing) and then presses the asteriks key to stop the beep from happening.
I use total recall to auto record all incoming and outgoing calls.
sometimes this doesnt work, id say 70% reliable
maybe someone can check out tasker and find out a more reliable way of detecting the phone call is ringing and thus send a key press to the dailer app and not just to the currently focused app window.
i'm back to froyo for use call recorder funtion, but i install total recall, it not work, it only recorde 1 way in or out, not 2 way. who can guide me setup total recall for this funtion, thanks

Edited an old cab to remove the version limits. It now works on Wm6.
Install and then dial a number from the standard phone dial pad to test! You should feel a short vibrate when you tap a number button letting you know that it's been tapped.
Add it to your CAB file collection.
Cheerio

What exactly does this do, with Phone Pad? Sounds interesting
It vibrates shortly each time, you press number in dial pad... or I guess, coz it did not work on my TyTN
but mayby is problem with some SPB products, because I have lot of them installed in my TyTN... e.g. phone suite, which can manipulate automatically with sound, vibration and light according to profile settings...
YUP! When you go to the dial screen and tap a number a small vibrate lets you know that a button has been pressed.
I'm also using bunches of SPB programs, but I still get the Vibrate from the standard dial screen.

It works on my Hermes but you have to long-press the key. Press for at least a half second to get the vibrate motor spinning.
Also, be sure to set either "short" or "long" tones in the phone options. It won't do anything if set to "none."
Hey thanks for converting to WM6 I had been missing it for awhile now!
Any chance this will work in WM5? Please and thanks.
Yeah this is soooooooooooo useful tip man, thanks a lot !!^^
Uninstall Issues...
I liked the idea, just didn't like the fact that you have to push the button for so long to get hte vibrate to react, just a fraction longer and it turns into a speed dial. So let's talk about the uninstall....
I unstalled the app, everything went normal. Now I have no keypadd tones at all.
hshortt, can you provide a fix or provide the registry keys that this install/uninstall modified?
EDIT: Nevermind, fixed on my own...
Works with the HTC Touch / Vouge. Just had to do a soft reset twice. For some reason after the first time, the touch screen stopped responding.
I'd like to know what you did to get your keyapd tones back, this program sucks!!!

guys i have tried the solution in the above link, it didnt work out.
if i exported the registry files from a non screwd device, and exported to my mine... will it work out?
This program is not very effective, cause when I tap out a phone number naturally I tap it quickly, and you have to hold for at least 300ms (I reckon) for it to even do a little vibrate.
it somehow needs to be much more sensitive, lower ms or something. Maybe its a limitation of the whole vibrate mechanism in the phone anyway.
Oh well.
Lost All Sounds
after installing i lost all sound output from my back speaker
no music, no ringtones, nothing
it only made my phone pad vibrate but screwed up all other sound output
tried to uninstall & still no fix
also hard reset & gflashing ROM again didnt fix
did it screw up my device completely !!!!!!!!!!
any fix please???
Vibrate dial pad
Thank you ! This is just what I was looking for
Sorry.Didn't find how to delete message
Hi pretty neat program, until I found a better one TouchResponse... This one allows you to even select the vibration time, and it vibrates on every tap on your touch screen. Well the problem is I un-installed Phone Pad Vibrate and now the the sound is gone when I press a phone number. The link for the fix isn't working, so how do I fix it so I can get the sound back???
Did the link for removal instructions get moved/removed for this?
The link from above is still broken. Anyone have instructions on how to remove this app?
could someone upload it on rapidshare, because i can´t load it, thank you
When i'm in the car i want to get my spvM650 automaticly on speaker when i answer calls... is that possible?
...sort of...
I have a prog installed called Teksoft Speakerphone. This allows a button to be allocated to turn the speaker on.
You can even activate it without a call in progress so that it will answer on speaker. I use it all the time in the car.
It also comes with a today screen button type plugin - but as far as I can tell its completely and utterley useless....but the prog itself rules!!!
I have attached the cab - let me know how you get on....I know it works on my Orbit....

thats the only flaw I can find......it turns itself off once you have ended your phone call.
During a call you have to turn it off using the button in call status.
Its good for turning the speaker on - just not for turning it off again....you soon get used to it!!
Incoming Call Ringtone Flip to Mute and Hold to Silence
My friend has been showing me the so called Flip to Mute and Hold to Silence features of his New HTC phone which he has purchased recently. He was quite exaggerating on the fact that his phone had those features while my Galaxy S lacked them. So, I started working on a port for the same and finally managed to integrate them into the stock Dialer.
Flip to Mute
When you are receving a call, you could simply MUTE the call Ringtone by flipping the phone with the screen facing the table surface.
Hold to Silence
When you receive a call, if you hold the phone in your hand with the screen angled towards your face, the Ringtone volume decreases until you lift the call.
Note: I have configured the sensor settings to be effective only when the phone is resting on a flat surface with the screen upwards. I have found that this type of configuration is required to prevent issues with phone going mute accidentally when its in your pocket and you receive a call. Unfortunately, I don't receive many calls to practically test it for accuracy. Hope it serves the purpose.
Installation Instructions
Download the attached file and flash with CWM3.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!
This is just a MOD which is intended to work properly, but there might be chances of the MOD misbehaving. I am totally not responsible if a girl next door calls you up and you get a Force close on the Phone app. There might be some issues, hence install it only if you know how to rollback in case of any issues. Post them in the forum so that I could look into them. A logcat would be usefull.

The Phone.apk is based on JVQ release and it is based on the stock APK. There are no additional mods like disable increasing ringtone or fixing the FC with this app after a phone call.
Versions for the other firmwares will be released soon.
Sensor Usage
You might notice some Sensor Usage for Phone app. This is quite normal because the Sensors are used to check the Orientation of the phone. This would last only for the duration of the Call Ring. I have checked to see if the sensors are being stopped and It seems to work fine. Let me know if there are any issues, because if there is any issue with the sensors, it might lead to a battery drain.

Does it happen for all the calls? I have rechecked with a call and everything seems to be find on my device. I am unable to replicate any such FC.
It happened once, after I called one of my friends. I'll keep you informed if anything like this happens again.
To avoid FC, please, use Phone.apk from 2.3.3 ROM, not from 2.3.4
great concept! amazing one!

Wonderfull ! Great work dhiru !
Can this be used on JVP deox ROMs?
Hey Dhiru,
I noticed the sources only hold 2 smali files. Is it enough to just replace them in a decompiled phone.apk ?
Yes, 2 files are enough.
Super great. I love it. I just replaced the phone.apk with root explorer, done.
works great also as a tri-mod with landscape and non increasing ringtone mod =) no problems whatsoever

Glad to hear that
Superb just what I was looking for, had the mute feature on my omnia surprised it wasn't included on the galaxy as stock.well done has anybody tried this on deodexed jvp yet?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If i leave the phone upside down after turning when i get a phonecall, does it stay silent ?
Otherwise i need to pick it up again and turn it again when someone calls me again.
This mod mutes the Ringer volume. It doesn't switch the phone to Silent mode. So, even if it is upside down, it rings. You need to place the phone on a surface with the screen facing the top.
I could mod it in such a way that it always stays silent when its turned upside down. I thought of this already, but I need to keep the sensors active all the while which would drain battery.
could it deactivate sensor right after you flip the phone to make first call silent and activate it on next call to check if it is still upside down?
The title says it all, is there any way to disable the call log from popping up after a call with the stock ICS dialer? I'd rather just have the phone go back to where it was or even just to the home screen. It's rather annoying when receiving a call when using navigation and having to switch back after ending a call, in many places (such as where I live) I would have to pull over to the side of the road and switch back in order to avoid a hefty fine. Also, I'd rather not have whomever I'm with see my call log if I have my phone mounted on my dash.
If there is no way with the stock ROM are there any custom ROMs that allow this?
Thanks.
not call log
I used to use an app called not call log, but I'm not sure if its compatible with ics.
Well... if you're just looking to go to the homescreen after a call... go to call log --> settings --> Exit To Home on End Call (Checked). Sorry, I don't know if this works on stock or on particular roms, but I'm running AOKP b25 and it has this feature.
Also, after your call ends and you are now seeing the call log, just press back and it takes you back to whatever you were doing prior. The activity stack stays in tact, it just adds call log to the top of it.

Since proximity sensor on F3 is fairly useless/non stable on calls I compiled the [A11/A12] AOSP dialer with proximity checkbox. Install via Magisk.
Set dialer as default phone app (reboot) and check proximity ON (so proximity doesn't work anymore...)
In call :
you can either use your powerbutton or double tap on statusbar to dim screen.
or you can use a small macro add-on I made - Call_AutoScreen_On-Off_(F3) - which auto dims screen when call is started and auto lights up the screen when call is ended. How to :
install MacroDroid
import the unzipped macro
give permissions where needed (reboot/don't forget to nuke proximity in dialer ofc).
thx @anuppoudel for testing as well
Added A12 AOSP Dialer
Thank you @raystef66 for providing such a useful solution, most needed
Since I got the F3, I've gotten used to just manually locking the screen before I put the phone to my ear. So, what advantage do I get from using your modified app?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your work! I'm just curious...

Ok, thanks...
1. The screen is locked with the app, but I have to manually dim the screen by pressing the power button? Hmm...
2. When the call starts I have to switch loudspeaker on and off again before I actually can hear the one who's calling (or the one I am calling resp.) over the earpiece (is there any solution for this bug out there? or has it even been solved and I'm still doing it out of habit? ).
Unfortunately, it seems that this mod would make the whole dumb workaround procedure even more frustrating (for me)

Point of this all is to nuke proximity sensor (more stability during calls) and let the macro do the job of auto dimming the screen when call gets active and waking it up when call's done. No more no less. So no more pressing the powerbutton or whatever.
Even with the macro running during call you can easily dt2w or press power button to wake screen. Dim it again by pressing the powerbutton again (or double tap statusbar). But how many times does that happen? Not much for me.
For you it does apparently because you have to press loudspeaker. Well you can as you did before on the other dialer you had. Only thing now is that proximity is disabled as well. So more stability.
In the past even with just pressing the power button I had wake-ups during calls. Proximity is unstable so therefore diabling it is the logic solution (for me).
As mentioned above, it's up to others to use it or not.
PS : in macro you can easily add some time to it before screen auto-dims so you have time enough to tap your loudspeaker. Or even add a speakerphone task. Up to you.

Unfortunately, the problem with the proximity sensor is extremely unsatisfactory - a feature that always worked reliably since my first smartphone was mightily screwed up by Xiaomi. I guess everyone who makes several calls per day is annoyed by the behavior and is looking for solutions. Therefore, it is of course highly gratifying if among the annoyed users there are also a few developers who can program solutions.
My frustration with the proximity sensor was not meant to blame the dev for not bringing a solution that works for me - the criticism is solely for Xiaomi. As I said, I appreciate the developer's work! Therefore, sorry if my post came across with a bad mood... I'm glad that the workaround app offered by the dev helps many users
@raystef66
Thank you for your answer! Earlier I was still unsure, now I know: the loudspeaker on/off "game" isn't over on my device - I just tested it. For an outgoing call, I have to deactivate the loudspeaker only after the ring tone, otherwise the earpiece remains silent. Unfortunately, this ring tone sometimes starts after 1 second, sometimes after 5 seconds - and sometimes without waiting time the call starts immediately. So, I don't think it's possible to create a universal solution with a macro.
The thing that works for me, on the other hand, is that the phone stays locked until I unlock it (lucky me! ). Initially, this accidently wake-up also happened to me, because I came to the fingerprint sensor with the index finger or thumb - but here I have now also re-educated myself
Anyway, thanks for not resigning yourself to the status quo and continuing to look for solutions!

Apologies if this is off topic but this thread will likely attract the right eyes.. Dialing hasnt been my big problem yet..
How do you deal with pocket wake up ?? Face unlock (maybe tap to wake ??) the position of the fingerprint reader mean this thing is constantly awake and pin lock failing in my pockets.. Driving me crazy.
EDIT :::
Testing it (pixel experience plus) my phone never senses, in any orientation.. Others report some form of sensing.
Upright.. hand to phone.. hand over phone.. I am not getting anything.
It wakes on movement.. It wakes to attempt face unlock (I guess).. It wakes on screen touch,, it never overrides that despite there being an option to prevent accidental wake up (which has no noticeable effect). I dont see what combo of settings may be correct here.
Its currently flat out unusable.. Its a mobile phone which you cannot put in your pocket and which wakes as you carry it. People cant be just accepting this...

I second this. I like having call recording when I call automated robot calls than I don't need to pay a attention and if I miss something I can relisten to it without a problem or with headphones if it was to quiet. It also works to set people up but in my state it's illegal to record someone who doesn't know their being recorder. So you would just be getting yourself in trouble to.
