A new color is available for the desire .. white , its simply beautiful , i wonder why htc decided to make the brown color the standard edition , the black and silver editions are awesome too

wish i knew about the black one before purchase
all i ever saw in shops was the brown one (even on the internet - i have seen a few shots of the black one but i thought it was with some cover or something) so i assumed they only come in brown color :F
white one looks like it shows dirt/sweat after 5sec
The black one is exclusive to Orange in the UK, not sure if its available in other countries or not.
The white looks nice but looks like it'll soon look dirty though

I got a silver one. Absolutely love it. Also because it's more rare. Few people have the Silver version.
Silver one just looks cheap, compared to brown one. The high contrast of the Amoled screen just comes out more prominent on the brown one. I was a bit worried when ordering, but i still think the brown one is the prettiest.

I wonder if anyone else notice this. The aluminum trim around the screen on my brown desire change colour depends on sunlight. Sometime it looks like brown, light blue, and dark grey.

Totally agree with all if this. IMHO, all other colours just don't cut it. I love my brownish Desire, wouldn't trade it for any other colour.

I originally went looking all over the place for the silver one, but eventually settled for the brown one as that one was easier to get my hands on a while back. Kind of happy with the decision, in pictures the brown one is horrible to look at, but if you hold it in your hand and/or hold a silver one next to it, the silver one looks like crap. Brown does work, just not in the pictures.
The white one also looks good in the pictures, but I wonder what it'll end up looking like once you actually hold it in your hands and work with it.

Getting very interested by the Xperia Arc and having a hard time deciding which colour to get.
Just wanted to see what everyone else out there plans to get once its released...
I'm currently leaning towards the silver cos its a bit more unique.

I like the look of the black more; I would prefer white but I never really liked silver as the main color, only in highlights or accents.

I am about to replace my E10i need better battery life and bigger screen.
One things is for sure it will be a silver colored one. Just don't know if I want an Arc, a Neo, the Pro, yet... Or if I gonna buy it this spring or wait till the summer.
Was quite clear for a while that the Arc was to big and I would be better of with a more pocket friendly phone and a 7"-10"screen tablet.
Maybe the Arc might can be a half way house, and getting me (at least a taste of) both worlds in one device.
I'm really tempted for silver version, seeing it looked great in previews, but the black version is a tried out color that works for just about anything, so I think I'll go with that.
Misty silver looks really nice...but I know Ill end up regretting it later. I usually like black the best. So, im gonna go with black just to be on the safe side.
Now, its just a waiting game of when I can pick one up here in Canada....eh! lol

Its just a difference of color..but one thing I can think of is that white may show more obvious blemishes over time where as black is less noticeable.

One is darker than the other
The white has a glossy back. With that you can install ghost armor on it to protect it from getting blemishes.

There are no pros or cons. It is just a color and a personal preference. I doubt anybody here has both to tell you both sides so pick your favorite color.

Someone traded me there black galaxy s2 and $200 for my white one last week. I guess the colors are a big deal to some people. I thought they were crazy but i'm not stupid. I took that deal.

Wow, that's a come up right there. They must of really want the white one. I want one too, but I wouldn't give more than $50 and only because mine is a month older.

That's incorrect. I'm holding my white handset right now and the back is smooth plastic. It isn't rubberized like, for example, the G2x.
The advantage is that stuff won't stick to it, the disadvantage is that it tends to feel slippery.
Some observations people might be interested in - it's a pearl white color with the silver accents (including the earpiece grill and camera lens) The backlight from the touch sensitive buttons tends to bleed which cheapens the look ever so slightly but then again, I have then turned off using the Screenfilter widget. Still though, it's a sharp looking handset and I've received positive comments from co-workers.
I have both and for some reason the white model has like a yellow tint to the screen. I hate it. My vote is black. Although I think the black one would look neat with the chrome bezel the white one has.

I had the Black one and now I have the White and the one thing I notice is that if you look at the top of the Black phone, on the bezzel, theres a sticker there that says Qualcomm 3G and on the White one it says Qualcomm 4G. Not sure exactly why they did that..
Other then that, the White one feels more responsive and smoother. Maybe they fixed all the bugs from the black ones.
The vibrent screen with the White back drop looks stunning.
The bezzel on the White one has a polished aluminum look which I personally think looks better then the Chrome. But thats just me... To much chrome can look bad sometimes.
I personally think white looks more feminine. But that is just me, and not that it is bad. Same goes with the white sunglasses that I have seen.

The only difference I can think of would be an effect on the camera, kinda like the problem the i-apple had

Advantages:
1) NO Verizon branding on my phone anymore! Take that Big Red!
2) Two colors, and the oh so coveted red!!!
Disadvantages:
1) As seen in picture 2, there is NO hole for the Front facing camera! I didn't notice this while assembly, else I could have scrapped off the paint a little. I still can do it by simply opening the back and removing the mother board, but I fear I may damage the digitizer or at the least it will look ugly. Plus, I hardly (if never) use it, so I should at least be happy for a working phone again! That looks rad in its new colors!!!
Bottom line: I am loving it!
Question:
Do you prefer me to keep it like this in 2 tones, (battery cover is black, while front is red) or make it red all the way!? If so, I have a spare, unused black battery cover that I will be willing to trade with someone for either cash or a spare red battery cover. Hmm... :fingers-crossed:

Thanks! Though shattering my Dinc2's screen was a bad thing, it led to a lot more beautiful phone!! But I don't recommend others break their screen as well! :silly:
I went to full red when I rebuilt mine, but my black battery cover was not in good shape. My sister has a white dinc2 and thinks we should trade battery covers at christmas time so we have candy cane colored phones lol
Most of my "minor" issues after replacing the digitizer is due to the issues/defects of the digitizer. The digitizer panel has no slot for FFC and the symbols above the capacitive buttons are cut out, rather than being transparent. So, when I rotate the phone, the buttons don't rotate as those symbols are etched onto the digitizer, while that area is left transparent/translucent in the case of the original digitizer... That means that in all our ICS ROMs that have issues with capacitive button back lights, I will not have this problem of course, I will not be able to rotate the buttons either, which is not the biggest feature, honestly.
So, there you have it, no FFC (I can test the FFC works by shining a torch at that area, that causes the camera output to be a red glow on the screen! lame!) and no rotating buttons!
Haha, when they sent me my Dinc2 they said all they had was red with a black back. When I got the phone it was a fully assembled red phone, back and all, and they also had a black back cover in the Verizon packaging. Just.seen the other day its still sitting in my drawer with a sticker for 19.99 lol

Does it look "cooler" in full red, or cooler in red and black. I kinda feel full red is cooler and but it may be because my black back cover is very worn. I have an unused black battery cover that VZW sent in along with the phone, which already came with a black cover, much like your red phone... it is easier and cheaper for me to put that new black cover than splurge on a new red cover. soooo, what's better?

I still think the raw black is kind of sexy. But then again, the dinc 2 is a really sexy phone to begin with (at least it is from the front)

I love my phones naked! Lol... Actually both the phones I had so far (Droid X2 and Dinc2) are sturdy and hence I never needed a cover to help grip it better and they don't break on falling once... or twice or thrice. Mine suffered a lot of abuse on concrete and finally gave up! I commend it and I in return it treated me by upgrading to this new sexy avatar!!! Nice.

My sister got her white phone from cowboom. I got mine on ebay and it was black, but I bought the red parts from ebay. They are verizon branded so I assume at some point they were available from Verizon.
You can buy white, red, or black battery covers on ebay.
Yeah, I got my red one directly from Verizon as a replacement for a terrible X2. I like the red...

easy, u better choose dark gray, bcos if u choose white, ur phone will ge dirty very soon bcos its not made of plastic its made of poly-carbonate. more over white it self get dirty soon.

one x better for me in deffernt ways, build quality, performance, display and HTC SENSE.
Get the White one with the official HTC case. It looks better than the dark Grey & the case will protect it from getting dirty, while keeping its great looks.

I got the white cause it was the cheapest. Did you know there is a black one as well? That's what I wanted but it was €100 more expensive.
I Just got a black silicon case for €5, it looks good and gives it better grip cause it can be a bit slippy

I wanted buy a white version but it was out of stock and I wanted to get HOX as fast as possible so I chose grey. A few weeks ago I had a chance to check white one and I can say that I was lucky by taking grey device.
I do not like white version cause it looks so plastic and it also reminds me a bit white iPhone. Grey version is really neutral and if you do not wanna be extravagant or something like this, go for grey.
White looks way better to me. Doesnt look cheap at all. It doesnt get dirty very easy, even if it does its very easy to clean. I saw many people who bought grey hox later changed the case to white because it really does look better. Althouth it's a personal choice.
If you come from an older phone you won't notice lag. Like I used desire for sometime and then moved to hox.
Sgs3 is a good phone. But sense is way ahead of touchwiz even if it may be slower a bit, but jellybean should change that. Get hox, you won't regret

Yeah white is the best one mate definately, people saying it gets dirty are wrong, mine is still gleaming and looks amazing. Too many black phones I like to be different so I also got white.

4 - If it does get dirty (which it doesnt) I know lots of people from XDA who simply get some Cif, dab it on a bit of cloth, rub it and voila clean !
I went for the grey one at first, but ended up having the phone replaced because it was faulty. So when they ordered me a new one I asked for the white one instad of the grey. The white one is so much nicer. If you go for the grey - you'll wish you had the white lol. But that's my opinion.

I never tried cif, but I wouldn't go using it on a €400 - €500 mobile. It is an abrasive cleaner and might leave an uneven finish.
I would first use soapy water, and if that fails, 70% alcohol.
Mine is white and after 8 month still clean. Also I have almost zero scratches, tough I used it Hardcore

My HOX used to be grey but I had to replace the back and sim tray because the white back+simtray was much cheaper than the grey version I got the white one and since then quite a few people commented on my phone on how beautiful is looked and if I got a new one. I initially chose grey because I was concerned the white bezel would distract from the screen but I can reassure you it doesn't.

Grey was 130€ cheaper when I bought it, so I went for grey.
Always thought about chasing the housing
Now that I cracked the grey housing while opening it the 3rd time to fix Wi-Fi I guess I'll order a white housing + SIM Tray for it

Hi... I recommend the black one + with 64GB / 2100mAh battery / Tegra 3 1.7Ghz (after owning a grey HOX 6 months)
I don't know were you live, and if is avaliable in your country allready... if you can't buy it now, of if you just want the one x instead one x+, so I recommend grey... but i also ear that white is more flawless.
And yes if you want a MALE smartphone don't even compare with sammy's3
Jellybean in my One X+ works just fine, and i'm sure it will work great in One X too
I've been using white for 6 months now with no case and there is no dirt on it...
In the other hand people are complaining about fingerprints on the back of grey variant.
P.s.- This phone is not a samsung and it's too beautiful to use a case
