Okay, so I searched as much as I could on the xda app for this answer, or the old market and couldn't find anything. Here's my problem, I am using the new market and none of my apps seem to be updating or even showing they need updated, when I go search an app I have installed and open it in market it says it needs an update. I'm not really diggin this new market, how would one go about getting the old market back? I searched in themes & app for the old one and could only find impalied darkness, trid to get it to install and wouldn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless you deleted your old one you should be able to just uninstall the new one and get back the older ones.

I didn't delete anything I uinstalled market from settings/applications and the new one was still there

I already got rid of that kind of stuff but I cannot find these particular files. I'm rooted running Virtuous.

I believe they are in /system/apps
Try using root explorer or a similar app and deleting them or download titanium backup and just freeze them usually I can find any apparently to freeze or uninstall with that
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
I tried looking there with no luck. I ended up just freezing them. :-\

After trying to download a theme. I deleted Facebook. When I went to reinstall Facebook from market I get the following error, "package file not signed correctly". So I can't upgrade Facebook from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1. Help please. I tried to clear cache. Still says the same error. Thanks.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Delete the themed version
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
How do I do that?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You use root explorer to go to
System >app> find face book delete it
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Or you can use, SDX Stock app removal, root explorer never seemed to delete system apps for me, even tho i had it on r/w. SDX is also nice cause it backs it up!
I hardly ever use root explorer just sometimes to save apps for backup off the market..
I completely forgot about that
I'm too used to pushing everything by root explorer
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
There is no need to upgrade to 1.5.1 there was very minor changes that you won't even notice. That's why I haven't themed it and kept 1.5 in my theme
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I used root uninstaller to delete Facebook. I then downloaded it again. But it downloads 1.5 instead of the newer version. But then the newer version will not install.
Even though I may not need 1.5.1. What id there is a major update in the near future and I cannot update it.
I guess I can wait until the new bonsai comes out.
Thanks everyone.

I can't find the movie section in the market. I have unrooted my phone and downloaded the market again but it still isn't showing in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wipe data for the market and any updates. Then let it re-update
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I tried doing that and it still won't show up. I also went back to an earlier version and no dice.

Fixed my issue with the market. Had to change my screen density back to stock and then clear data and uninstall updates for the market. Works fine now with hacked google videos.

I accidentally uninstalled play store and when I downloaded apk and opened it up it force closed. Can't get to open up. Can somebody help me with this problem. I was messing with it because I couldn't update apps. It would say waiting for network and didn't do anything. I had 4g signal very good and strong.

wait so do you still have the play store app? if so just in app management delete the cache and reset the app.
you need to elaborate a bit more on that post as in i'm not really following everything your saying.
if you are not on a stock rom, i.e. using an AOSP AOKP or CM rom, then just flash the gapps file again. I'd post a link but since I don't know which rom you're on I am not sure which one you need. There is a separate one for GB or ICS.... if you are on a stock rooted rom then just open the zip file for the rom you downloaded and copy the .apk from it to your rom. should be located in the folder /system/app/.
Hope that helps, good luck.
Not on any rom just plain stock. And I don't have play store app period on my phone except for when I googled an apk to download. It doesn't give me an option to clear cache. Just uninstall and force close.

You don't have anything like this under app managements
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
that is rather strange. I'd almost recommend uninstalling. where did you get the apk from?
No I do not have that under app management.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
I got the apk from a website I can't recall and it was from media share.

so clear this for me, you DON'T have google play store at all in app management? or if you do and just cant do anything with it at all.
If you DON'T have the Google Play Store here you go
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28367656&postcount=12
install that.
I downloaded the apk from link you gave me and I opened it and it let me in but when I went to update one of my apps it stopped working unexpectedly force close. Same thing its been doing since I first installed the play store.

don't just try to install the apk, but make sure you copy it to the system/ apps folder. After that you should probably also reboot to recovery and wipe cache and the dalvik cache , then google play will be hopefully working when you reboot.
Because you don't have the play store , you can dance install the amazon app store from the amazon web page on your phone to work around getting a file manager.
Try using a free app like es file explorer.

an important question, is your phone rooted? If not go to you wherever you said you were able to get to uninstall the place store before. Uninstall it cross your fingers, and reboot.

I installed adfree. To my phone ...
Then hours later 4 new apps showed up.
There not in play store so I can uninstall them... there not in settings app to uninstall
And I even went as far as to look in root explorer... nothing there either. On the net it says there real apps but I DID NOT PUT THEM THERE! I don't know if adblock is the root cause or what to do I really don't want to do a fresh install.. but it looks like I may have to.... here a pic the apps at the top just appeared ... lookout detected nothing....
Edit: its hard to see but there all like catch a chearter... GPS a cheater... extra.

Adfree altered my host file.... I could try titanium but would that pull out the root changes and unhost the changes in the file?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Wipe Data, Format SD Card, Reflash Rom, do not reinstall apps from Titanium Bakcup, do fresh installs.
The only way to be sure that the malware/spyware is gone.
I have been running adfree for months now and this has not happened to me. There is no way you got this from adfree. You either got it from web browsing on your phone or there is another application you installed that put them there.

That is caused by a already installed app. Uninstall the app before you started to get these ads and they will not show again

For a solid YouTube downloader, try Tubemate. You can't get it from the Play Store but you can get it in the Amazon Market or the app's website I believe. No adds or spam, the only problem is it can only download videos for which there are mobile versions. About one in 10 videos doesn't have a mobile version, in my experience.
