alright, so i was in the middle of writing a text message a few minutes ago and the phone randomly shut off. only now, i can't get it back on. battery pulled multiple times and the weird thing is that it was on the charger when it turned off. when i try to turn it back on, the led just blinks red. can't boot into CWM either.
Did the phone overheat possibly? I'd give it some time and make sure the battery has a charge then try it again.

Last night I got woken up at 4:04 (I lol'd when I saw it) by my phone that was vibrating and wouldn't stop. When I pressed the power button on top of the device, the screen showed my wallpaper for less than a second, and then turned off. I can't get it on again, when it's plugged into the charger, the LED stays off. It doesn't seem to respond to anything.
So is there anything I could try before sending it off to the insurance company?
[edit]
When I plug it in now, the orange LED comes on, meaning it's charging. When I press the power button the LED goes off as if it is preparing to boot, then the LED comes on again and charges again.

Seems to be working again. Charged it for a few minutes and now it's back on again and has loaded Android. The constant vibrating was odd. I guess the charger wasn't properly connected or something and it was shutting down while also receiving a notification.
The thing I was most scared of was getting a new one from the insurance company and it being an SLCD version.
I know there are other posts about this but my battery won't charge. I rooted it and it completely died. Now when i plug in the stock charger, it turns on, boots up, then dies, and repeats. I plugged it into my computer, and the orange light is dim. After about 20min, I got a message from fff saying: "Battery is too low to power on, wait a few minutes and try again." or something like that. After that it just stays dim and when i press the power button nothing happens. This has happened to me before, but i rebooted the system(with TWRP) and then i got the same message, but it charged fine. Please help.(BTW i am using it USB right now, because Stock charger still wont charge it.) Please help!!!
EDIT: Right now it goes to the Screen indicating that it needs to be charged and then it continues charging. After awhile, it will turn on to that same screen(charging screen) and i realized the backlight was lit after the indicator turned off and i cannot turn it off!!! Ive done the 20sec. hard reset but still it stays on. Help needed!!!(BTW it is the FFF bootloader i think)

Maybe try booting into twrp and then when its fully charged boot it again to system. Can you boot into twrp or does it instantly just go to that screen again? I dont want to start speculating about the condition of your bootloader or anything else based on the info you have given. All I know for sure is theres an indication that it needs to charge. I would try quicky plugging it into the wall charger from a powered off state. I would hold the power button for 20 seconds to verify that it is indeed powered off. Most of these are likely gestures of futility. I can only say what I would do myself. Lastly I would remove the back and unplug the battery then after 5 mins or so plug it back in or plug it in via usb without the battery in and if it booted correct carefully reconnect the battery but Im not recommending you take this approach. Give it time charging via usb hopefully it will somehow break from this cycle that what the bootloader is supposed to do in the event the battery has been drained to below 4%.
Whether it is stuck like that I cannot tell you.
ok so earlier today my s3 ran out of battery and shut off. I attempted to charge it, but noticed the red indicator light wasn't on. I tried to turn the device on, but all it did was vibrate and show the battery level logo with the circle in the middle as if its computing the battery level, then shuts back off. most of the time it will just vibrate and loop the samsung logo and then shut off again. sometimes it also shows that my battery is nearly fully charged after i left it on the charger while i was in class, but then shuts off. the farthest it has showed anything on start up was the at&t logo with the white background, then it shuts back off. i've tried to boot the phone connected to the charger and took the battery out, that didn't work. tried to take the battery out and leave it for 10 mins and put it back in, that didn't work. although it would vibrate everytime i put the battery in. i also tried to boot the phone in recovery mode. it would say recovery mode booting in blue letters, then it would go to the samsung and galaxy s3 logos, but then shut off again. also tried the download mode boot up, but i just saw the OS warning screen for a second, then it shut off.. i've ran out of ideas on what to do. hoping anyone could provide anymore advice for me. thanks in advance!
My phone was completely drained of its battery last night, and I tried plugging my phone into a charger to turn it back on. Didn't turn on right away so I thought it was a completely dead battery. Tried again this morning and the same thing. It'll vibrate but the backlight won't ever turn on. Under direct sunlight I can see the LG logo on the bootup but it never leaves that. I managed to get into recovery and somehow maneuvered to do a data wipe. If I reboot into recovery after that, the backlight will start working again. This only seems to be a temporary fix, because with 5-30 minutes, it'll go back to it's original state.
So my HTC One M9, Verizon, for the record. Stock ROM, stock everything-- no root, was working fine up until the other day. These two things might be unrelated, but I had a weird vignette on my screen, along with white lines only on the edge of my screen. I turned it off and when I woke up it was gone. However, I started having issues with charging. It wouldn't charge, recognize on my computer, when on. I let the battery die to do a calibration, and strangely enough, ONLY WHEN the phone hit 0%, would it start to charge again, this is when the phone was off. I charged it to 100% and turned it on. If I tried go past the lockscreen and do anything funky, it would stop working (disconnect and reconnect a couple times before stock working completely). If I stayed at the lockscreen and kept it off it would remain charging at 100%. Disconnect it and take some pictures, it won't work.
I've gone to 0% two times, and that seems to be the only way to get it to charge, offline or off.
What's going on here?
Alright, so I shut it off at 95%, and it's currently off. I plugged the charging cable in, and went I went to check it later the LED indicator was flashing orange. Now, if I plug it back in it will flash "charging for a second" then go back to the orange blinking.
EDIT: I did it again and now it showed the charging symbol and is charging like normally, and indicating 92%. The charging LED is now a solid orange.
EDIT EDIT: "The led flashes orange as a warning that the device is overheating." Is that why it works when off and completely cool and when I try to do anything that "heats it up" it stops working? I've also read; "Battery level is very low." Weird.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: Leave the screen off/sleep mode it starts to charge.
