Hi Folks,
Does anyone have recommendations on a wired stereo/binaural headset with boom microphone and 3.5 mm plug for work use with an HTC Sensation 4G?
I've looked at offerings from Plantronics and Sennheiser, but wanted to see if anyone had recommendations outside of these.
They'll be used for work, so clarity, noise reduction, and comfort will be deciding factors. I'd prefer pro or military grade (even with the 3.5 mm plug).
This is my first post on the forums, so if I got this wrong. Oops.
Thanks
I would suggest you to go for sennheiser. They have entry level headphones starting at $22 on amazon. They are generally of amazing quality and inexpensive.

I know there's a lot of wired headsets out there, but they all seem to be for the iphone. Especially the ones with mic and music controls. Looking to replace the crapy headset that came with the phone.
Found the Plantronics Backbeat 216. They say these are for the iphone and other smartphones with a 3.5mm jack. Wondering since the MT4Gs OEM headset has a mic and music controls, would this work? If not, can anyone recommend?
How much are you looking to spend? I'd suggest the Metrofi series by Ultimate ears. It's a top notch brand and they have a good amount with mics.

I've tried out a few wired headsets (5+) all in the 70 and up range and am currently using the Bose in ear set which i think are the best sound if you aren't looking for complete noise cancellation, if you are check out the Klipsch Image S4i Premium Noise-Isolating Headset with 3-Button Control
Dude .. go with skullcandys there cheap and awesome alternative to the stock ...i purchased mine from tmobile for 20 (to anxious to wait for an online order) ...good sound quality and mic works fine with my mt4g
Get thinksounds, they are the best out there. IMO skullcandies are meh.

I've used the Altec Lansing BackBeat plus Mobile that I picked up from my local Apple Store.
Tried most of them in the store but these sound the best for the price ($49.95). They are small earbuds and fit nicely in your ears. I like the cloth cords, they seem very durable and don't stick to my clothes (or each other) when I have them in.
There are bad comments in on the Apple Store for the product reviews, but those are mainly from people who complain about the sound the cloth cables make when they rub together, or from the fact they are not noise canceling like others.
Here's the link if your interested:

I'm sure you can probably pick them up for cheaper from newegg or amazon, but I didn't want to wait for them to be shipped.
Good luck with your search.
I'm currently using the Sennheiser MM 50 iP's and they work wonderfully for the under $40 price tag.
I got a new Sennheiser MM60. The sound and microphone are exceptionally good.
A side note: the button cannot end calls, but you can advance to next track with rapid double press.
Ok am looking for a good bluetooth stereo headset for listening to music while cycling. So the headset must be sweatproof. And the main quality am looking for is the music quality as i dont bother about voice clarity of calls or the styling or anything.
The ones i am considering right now are :
1. Motorola S10-hd
2. Platronics backbeat 903+
3. LG HBS-700
I havent tried out any. So if any of you have. Please suggest which one of these gives best music quality. And also suggest any other which are sweatproof that have good music quality.
I use the HBH-DS220 - they're sold on Amazon at a very low price (22GBP or so) and the earbuds can be replaced for about 4GBP. Sound quality is just ok, but it's great for the gym because the BT receiver is very small. Also, not officially sweat-proof, but my first set is still working and replacements are cheap.
I use nokia BH 103.
Good sound quality
Never had compatibility issues with any of the bluetooth phones.
Amazing battery life. Its around 2 years old now and works great.

i have one MH BTS-P OE BK of Monster,it's really nice for me
maybe you can see this web iamorangeshop.com.they have a lot headphone and the custom service is helpful.
the best thing is good quality and best price
Since you need the headset when sporting, it should be small in size. As for sound quality, I can't really tell, it all sounds similar. Anyway, you can check it here: http://www.dragonext.com/cellphone/bluetooth-device/headset-earphone-handsfree.html
Like you I too am a cyclist and am after a bluetooth stereo headset.
So far the one I am looking at is the Sony MW600.
Here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/features/mw600?cc=gb&lc=en
I've went through a few pairs of "compact" bluetooth headphones. Logitech, Motorola, Monster, you name it.
Honestly, they all turned to be lacking in the sound department. On a whim I bought cheap jWin JBTH710 headphones. They're a bit on the bulky side and you'll look strange wearing them, but for around $30.00 you'll get sound that competes and beats the brand names in the $100 mark. I paired them with a 3.5mm audio bluetooth dongle and with my phones without any problem, the battery will outlast any smartphone too...

I do a 50 mile ride a few times a week and love these. I sweat profusely and haven't broken them yet. You do have to mess around with the different ear pieces to get the right fit.
I have had good luck so far with a jawbone earpiece used the same one for 3 years and still no problems it has great noise canceling and good sound.

Among items you listed above, I would like to go with the Motorola S10-hd. Design is truly awesome, and it's also sweat proof. But you have to wear over your head.(I don't like that. ) You also can compare and review other a little simpler handsets here, http://www.shopsimple.com/ks-sweatproof-bluetooth-stereo-headset.html I got a S85 over there. Pretty nice.
motorola S9HD's
I found them better and a tad more comfortable than the S10's I tried
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982227
try Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800.
best ones i used so far after Motorola S9 and Motorola HT820s and some plantronics which broke in 3 months.
I'm looking for earphones to use with my N5 and I can't decide between LG Quadbeat 2 and a-JAYS One+
I prefer a-JAYS design and judging by their look they seem to be more durable than LG. From what I've read they're also more "bassy" than Quadbeat 2. However LG earphones are cheaper and have volume buttons which One+ lacks (yeah, I know the JAYS app solves that since you can use one button for everything, but still), they also have angled nozzles which supposedly are more comfortable if earphones are worn for a long time.
Does anyone have a comparison or has an experience with any of those two? I'd like to read your opinion on them. Or maybe you could recommend some other earphones?

Of the two you've chosen I'd go with the Quadbeat 2s. Sound good and they were designed to work with the chipset in the N5.
As an audiophile, I'm going to tell you to just go to head fi and do some research over there :silly:
There are some earphones that perform better without a portable amp as they are and some that absolutely require an amp to drive the sound.
Your selection will heavily be influenced by if you wish to drag around a portable amp or just earphones as they are.
I would recommend you get one of those earphones on a list over there that is commonly cited and recommended. Your ears will thank you.
Most of the suggestions here are not from people who actually tested or listened to a large selection of earphones.
I don't mean to knock on any members here but most suggestions are just from people who have had one good experience or one good buy with an earphone but don't have alot of listening experience in comparing the quality of an earphone with another selection of earphones.
One thing that I forgot to mention in OP is that I need the earphones to have built in in-line mic.
After some head fi lecture I think I'll go with QuadBeat 2, since they got some really good reviews, however I'll probably end up with a-JAYS too as a backup earphones since I have a giftcard to the store with cellphone accessories where they are available (wish they had QuadBeat 2 as well but they only have JAYS).
I can tell you now that you will prefer the jays sound. Its more clinical without excessive bass etc. Had and tested all sorts of in ear headphones and these are absolutely amazing

While I agree with everything the1onewolf said, I've also learned that many people aren't interested/willing to go to the full extent of research. For that reason, I keep a good mental list running on earphones for most needs based on a combination of my own experience and reviews from people I trust (having heard other earphones they've reviewed for comparison).
This one appears to largely come down to functionality: 1 button or 3?

Some additional info re: Quadbeat 2
LG has a newer version dubbed the G2 Quadbeat 2 which I purchased via an eBay seller in Korea (could not find for sale from anyone in the USA).
The G2 sounds very fine BUT i have button issues (Nexus 4 KitKat). The diags in "HeadSet Button Controller Trial" show the center button works but neither side button. Thoughts welcome.

My advice: With the Nexus 5 I would suggest going with the Yuin PK3 (earbud) or Yuin OK3 (in-ears). The Yuins pop apart pretty easy and if I have a 15w soldering iron, it's easy to solder in a cord with a mic.
The Nexus 5 has a really good built-in amp, however it's not even putting out anywhere near it's potential. So make sure you get lower impedance phones, otherwise you may end up with something that doesn't have the volume you're looking for. (mid impedance in-ears are plenty loud however)
Anyone know if the remote buttons work on the Quadbeat2 for volume control with the Nexu5?
Have you considered the a-JAYS Five (3 button for Android)?
Having come from several low end IEM Shures over the years and currently owning a pair of Jaybird bluebuds X I would now like to try out a pair of headphones as opposed to IEMs. I've never owned a quality pair of headphones and can't afford the mid to high end stuff. Music currently is stored on a smartphone (Sony Xperia Z Ultra) and finding wired a pain I would really like to get bluetooth headphones which need to be portable as will be wearing them out and about.
I have to admit to periodically experiencing discomfort with the IEMs and the problem of achieving a good comfortable fit. But the major PITA with IEMs is the fact if I want to hear a PA / stranger in a public place quickly I have to yank out the IEMs. Clean the wax off them and hope the person trying to talk to me hasn't spotted it and then spend the next half minute in contortions trying to get the damn things back in to get that nice isolation back.
So can anyone recommend a pair of BT headphones with good isolation (no noise cancelling please) with the best bang for buck. I have seen the Bluedio R+ NFC Bluetooth been mentioned on other forums which seemed to have got good reviews on Amazon but a mixed reception elsewhere. I expect not to get the same levels of isolation as the IEMs. Am I right?
Alternatives and words of wisdom much appreciated
Guys, I bought the US HTC 10, so it came with no headphones.
Which ones do you recommend? I'm really interested in the Sennheiser CX 5.00 but I'm not sure if they're going to take advantage of the DAC. WHat other recommendatios do you have?
Thanks in advance.
I got the HTC "hi-res" earphones as I'm in Europe. They're very good for a bundled pair and I thought they were too bassy but then I set up a audio profile for them listening to frequencies and they sound fine. That function actually works!
I haven't listened to the cx 5.00 for a while but as far as direct experience on the HTC 10, I'm pleased with
-Sony EX650ap, same price range, quite a nice, refined sound.
-Sennheiser HD25 i-ii, sounds just lovely, get deafeningly loud but twice the price and not an iem...
-UE 700 really takes advantage of the dac, so maybe another dual driver like the Xiaomi Hybrid or One More?
This phone is even able to drive my HD600s to acceptable levels. I'm tempted to hang on to my Tidal hi-fi account after the trial ends.
Original ones...
Sent from quite brutal hTc 10 ..
The original earphones are very good for a bundled earphone but aren't really anything special in the grand scheme of things. Those Sennheisers will probably be a decent upgrade. Otherwise, there are plenty of options available online; the HifiMan RE-400 was just on sale for $60, the Shozy Zero can commonly be found for the same price and offers a bassier alternative. The Xiaomi Pistons earphones are also very good and extremely cheap, the Pistons 3 go for around $15 whilst the triple driver hybrid "pro" model is around $25, both are an absolute steal.
I've got some Bose Soundlink over ear headphones and the sound is immense...
Shure SE215
Klipsch X10
Too bad we didn't get aptx HD for those times when I can't use wired cans.
Sony MDR7506 with 24 bit flac of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.
I'm using the B&O H7, which sound great too me. Was using the Beats Studio 2 before that. The sound quality was decent but it was lacking deep bass.
HTC has always seem to nail it in the audio department.
Sennheiser m2
Wired. No Bluetooth.
Still have to finish burn in with the original htc in ear but I already don't like them, too bassy! I do really love the Zero Audio carbo tenore, they are worth a lot more than the price they're asking for!
AF45m By Audiofly with Vyper4Android FX... Sound Is Very Very Good
Just paid $20 for Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro. Triple drivers and they sound great!
I use Westone W40. All cool)
I'm using my old HTC8 Harmon Kardon ear buds for mobile use and Sennheiser Momentum 2 over the ear, corded headphones for home use. Both sound nice with this phone but the Sennheisers are my favorite. Being a decent set of over the ear headphones with a lower impedance, means this phone has more than enough power to get them sounding nice without a stand alone amp. I listen to a wide variety of music but they do a good job. Real comfortable and nice build quailty

They're definitely becoming renowned for it, which is great because I think most manufacturers see it as an afterthought. The bundled Hi-Res earphones are so freakin' good.
is here someone from Taiwan, who may be interested in helping me to buy the HTC Hi-Res Audio Earphones in the HTC store?
if so please contact me priv.
thx in advance
Using a pair of Audiotechnica ATH M50X with it. Its awesome!!!
to big to me, I like small earphones, and those original form HTC are very good to me, but can't bay it anywhere.
