that's just stock rooted EC05... i'm looking for something more like EC05 plus which isn't around anymore. nothing crazy just a little smoother. all the roms i go on that have been EXT have tended to start acting up on me after a few weeks. and the new GB leaks are just too buggy.
let me see if I still have ec05 plus on my hdd
I have it still....where can I upload it real quick?
errr **** sorry that was EF02 plus
appreciate that... is there a reason its not available anymore? i know the guy moved on to EF02plus but i know a bunch of people wanted the froyo one
I have Epic_Experience_v2.0.08 if you want. I think that is what you are looking for. I don't think Chris pulled ec05 plus I will look.

My epic 4g seems to miss words as i type fast. I have to like take my time and then type to make sure all the words come out correctly. This is rather annoying. Im useing the new gingerbread leak eg20 or something like that, do they have a fix for this keyboard problem?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Nope we need gingerbread source to implement that fix. Stick wth frozen 1.2 if that is a big issue for you it has the fix baked in.

Is there a way to get the keyboard patch without using a custom kernel or rom? I dont care about OC or UV.......most roms end up going haywire on me in a matter of days after i was tricked into thinking they were stable for me lol.......and eg22 i learned my lesson by bricking my phone completley and having to order a replacement.........now that i got my epic back all i want to do is a simple root to remove certain apps and add certain apps as well as fix the annoying keyboard problem........any help?

That post keeps getting brought up as the one to use but it says this in the post
"Remember, this is EC05 Android 2.2 ONLY. And you must have a compatible kernel. Just flash it through clockwork!"
EDIT: i just flashed the speed demon patch on stock ec05 rooted and it appears to have done absolutley nothing , lol.

you need a compatible kernel for it to work, try a custom rom like sfr 1.2 or midnight 5.5.
im on midnightrom 5.5 and can vouch for stability and patch works great on it.
Hey guys, I have a sprint samsung epic 4g, I was running the stock froyo on it, and tried to update it to gingerbread through odin3, During the process my micro usb cable became unplugged and I can now only see a picture of a phone with an exclamation point in the middle of a yellow triangle and then a computer. I can get it to flash into clockwork recovery mod, but nothing seems to work there.... Can anyone give me any information on what that picture means? I think it is a softbrick, but since I am a noob I am unsure... Any help at all is appreciated. I would love to pay you guys for useful information that unbricks my phone.

Just Thought id share. The skyrocket roms work on our phone too. Just flashed the Alien ROM just to see. Everything worked fine, granted there was some att crap in wifi settings that is useless to us, but at least we know we can use their stuff too. I also flashed jugs kernel with the rom as Im sure the kernel is different, but maybe not. Anyway, just wanted to let you know. Oh, they just got an ota to 2.3.6 yesterday, ill post the system dump here in a few. Hopefully the devs will move to that base.
*I thought I'd throw a zip similar to what they have together. I think this zip will do the trick. Give it a shot and let me know if auto rotate is still borked. I dont think it will be but I have CM7 setup and working audio so I dont want to ruin that Let me know and Ill fix issues if there is any.
Conversion
*NOTE: This is for Samsung ROMS only. Do not try it on CM7 or anything aosp.
ooooo this is interesting.....hopefully they get some good devs

By the way, the Alien ROM for the skyrocket kicks ass on our phone. I flashed it with whatever kernel it comes with and I've noticed a reduction in the stutter.
It does have a an issue with our accelerometer it seems though.

Does this Alien rom have anything special that our rooms don't have? Kind of what to try it out, but not sure if it's worth it. Any other bugs besides the ones stated?

I tried but its just perfectly reversed.
The Alien Rom is excellent as far as I'm concerned, if we could figure the orientation issue out, it would be just about perfect.

Hey guys and gals-
Just thought I'd share with you something I'm really excited about. I've been flashing pretty much everything that has come out over recent weeks, and even months. I just was on CM9 build 3.1, which was incredible, but unfinished. I thought it could be my daily, but it started to go into airplane mode and lose mobile data randomly, so I had to restore. After doing so, I feel the need to share with you a setup that I am blown away by. It is:
Gingerbread (Android 2.3.6)
FB 21 Modem (Steady's newest release)
EL29 Kernel (I know some might be upset it's not the newest available, but go with me here)
Everything is just SO ridiculously snappy, I can't believe what I have been missing. Since the "about phone" only has Gingerbread.EL29 in it and not the rom's developer, I can't be certain about the specific ROM I used but I'm fairly certain it's Blazer.
Anyway, enough of the rant. I suggest those who need a break from flashing all the newest things give this combo a try and let me know if you have a similarly enjoyable experience!
Out of curiosity, how long have you been on this setup?
Surely one of the [email protected] here will chime and tell you of a better way to be certain who's kernel you're using? I could be wrong...
Ill check it out now. If nothing else it will take my mind off the fact that I'm jones'n so hard for CM9 Alpha 4, so why not.
Any particular flash order? ...flash this combo all in one CWM session, or reboot in-between? ...etc. Any additional details you can provide would be helpful. I'm bored atm anyway.
Thanks for the info.

Just about six hours now with about 1.5 hours total of voice calling and consistent texts. Hasn't slowed down, but if there are any major (out of the ordinary) changes I'll be sure to report.

Unfortunately like I said, this was a restore which ended up keeping my FB21 Modem with EL29 Kernel. So I don't know the recommended way to flash, but if I were to do it on my own I would probably say format all, blazer EL29 ROM (with kernel), and then this morning is when I actually ODIN'd the FB21 modem, so probably boot up, turn off, enter ODIN download mode, and do that last.

I can confirm my blazer 4.0 setup on stock EL29 kernel with FB21 modem is insanely fast, super long battery and no problems. I highly recommend it!

Another good sign. I think I need to stop typing and start flashing.
So to be clear FB modems work fine with Gingerbread ROMs? No issues flashing? I was kinda on the fence about it. Im waiting for a stable ICS ROM.
Nevermind flashed it anyway on Blend 2.6.2 ROM. No problems.
Edit, weird LOS issues moved back to EL29.

Yes, no issues. A great improvement, actually.
For reference, here is a screenshot of my home screen. Note the status bar....can't recall exactly which ROM this is from but it's pretty distinguishable. My favorite thus far.
