Crackel - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

So I just downloaded an app called crackel and it worked on my inc2. I wanted to share it. For those who don't know it is a free movie and tv streaming app.
I am not responsible in anyway for this app. It is just something I came across. Mods if I'm in the wrong please delete. The link I'm posting is to download the apk.

If you are having trouble getting it to play I had to try it twice. (watched all of Bad Boys) also I am rooted and running Ginger Sense r1.

Cool thanks!

there's another one similiar to it called Movie Stream
Movie Stream 1.3
it has 2 search options, one where it pretty much just searches megavideo.com and steams them through the htc streaming media player, and another one that scans different websites for movie streams.

Two things!
a) This should've been posted in the Applications subforum.
b) If you'd searched these forums you'd have found that someone had already posted about this in the Applications subforum.

True it's an app, but for many people out there, it's basic functionality. I know that just like missing tasks and reminders as well as the lack of full Outlook synchronisation in Android, this lack of functionality has been a huge bone of contention for many who have taken the leap to Android only to find that they have been left up the creek without a paddle. For all it's hyped up "amazingness" how on earth can anybody release an OS with so many gaping holes, the lack of basic functionality which other OS's have as standard??
Anyway, I'm trying to spread the word. Especially because I see many people/admins have this strange idea of trying to censor this news (because it's a closed beta. - Who cares?).
Strange how there were some cryptic messages by a sysadmin on the Coreplayer forums about people keeping to the forum rules when there were no posts showing which appeared to have broken any rules! Check out pages five and six here http: // forum.corecodec .com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2885
We're here to help each other are we not?
What happens on other forums is immaterial! There are subforums here for a reason, and this news has already been posted there, which leads me to rule 1 of the XDA rules:
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

And I can understand why some might want to censor this "news" because it borders on warez! Yes, I'm being hypocritical because I've downloaded and installed this player, but the moment it gets onto the market I will buy it.

Dave

At the risk of repeating myself, I, and I am certain many others out there, consider AVI playback to be basic functionality, it's not just "another app" to do some silly thing which the world managed perfectly well without before it came along. Therefore I posted it in the general subforum and pointed to another subforum which had decent info.
As to the goings on on other forums, I was referring to a good number here on XDA too! As you said, search.
And I will buy it too!! This program ROCKS!
Well I for one am glad you posted this here, cos now there is an unwatermarked version available and I didn't know that.
Thanks OP, and thanks anonymous Dev for letting it slip
Will happily buy this from the market when the code is tightened
well, this thread is the 1st i heard of it and i just played an ep of tds perfectly.
is this a divx product? or someone elses?
agreed with others.. we shouldnt be told we are not allowed to know that ROCKPlayer exists. im fine with the link/attached file being removed.. but the WHOLE thread being deleted... ?
Thanks for posting it. The app is very buggy yet, certainly not fit for anything past Alpha. It does not even play 3GP and MP4 vids that the stock player does with ease. Not even what the phone itself records. Massive frame drops, stuttering and audio out of sync on even 600Kbps vids. It does play low bitrate DivX AVIs successfully though. I'll try MKVs and XviD soon. Currently, the latest Yxplayer is far ahead, yet.

Huh?
I am using it for playing AVI Xvid files of TV episodes etc (from you know where) and it plays them all without a hitch.
No bugs, no nothing. It just works!
Perhaps they could allow it to remember the last folder you opened though!
BTW, does anybody know why it needs access rights to the internet when all it does is play video files?

Agreed i was confused aswell. I've played standard HDTV avis fine with ROCK, and if i used YXPLAYER it would play with lots of stuttering
I happy for ROCK to only play DIVX i dont mind it cant do MP4s has i only ever use DIVX.
It plays flv files perfectly too.. I tested it with a bunch of stuff I ripped from xvideos with downloadhelper for firefox
It also plays Xvid just the same as divX.. I've not tried mkv yet
If you want to play mp4/3gp then use the stock player you strange person <rolleyes>
Thanks op for posting this. I say that because when I get home of an evening I have about half an hour to check my emails, news, and about 3 or 4 forums including this one. A post in the apps forum may well have got missed. My fault entirely I hasten to add. The fact remains though I would have missed it.

So you've only tested XviD AVIs?
What bitrate, resolution, FPS, ratio, audio format are those files using?
Stock ROM?
To be really honest, you'd need to post more details on the files you've played. That's why I mentioned the vid properties. That's exactly how it is with any +650Kbps vid that has action/movement on mine after comparing it to how they play in Act 1.

Hi I am using a stock Orange Rom.
Video properties:
624 x 352
Bit rate 124kbs
Audio MPEG Layer-3
23 fps
Data 1127kbs
Video sample size 12 bit
video compression FFDS
I have tested several .avis which I get from you know where. 350MB Tv shows. They all worked flawlessly.
Thanks fellas.
I can confirm two aspects of what they are saying. It plays ~640*270 ~1,100Kbps XviD and DivX movies using the AVI container, with MP3 and PCM audio, flawlessly. I've just finished two full movies, one of which is 1.7GB, no problem at all. I haven't tried bigger, better resolutions and bitrates yet.
It can also play low bitrate/resolution MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and WMV vids properly.
However, it cannot run H.264 vids above ~400Kbps at such resolutions and greater without the earlier mentioned problems.
Test these .MP4 and .3GP container H.264 and MPEG-4 vids for yourself. Thanks goes to those who have uploaded them, only one is my own.
Run them on your choice of vid apps, the stock app and the Rock player. Do they play and sound perfect on the Rock player? Do they run at the correct frame rates?
Vid 1: http://db.tt/gWzJ5I
Vid 2: http://db.tt/CRx6pb
Vid 3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JSXE2BTR
One is a 720p vid shot by the Desire itself. All of them play flawlessly on Meridian, Act 1, etc, but not so in this app. It's missing H.264 acceleration by the looks of it.

New to Android - Why can't I play MPG videos?

So I love the EVO, and so far I love Android, except I can't seem to figure out how to play videos on it. Sure I can view Youtube, youporn etc , but I can't seem to find a player that will play simple MPEGs. I have downloaded and tried at least 5 different video/media players from the Market, and none of them will play MPEGs correctly. Some of them will give me sound, but none will give me video. I have tried a couple of different video files that I know work on my desktop.
Am I doing something wrong? I am coming from Windows Mobile with Windows Media Player that played just about anything I threw at it. I can't imagine such a wonderful piece of hardware coupled with what seems to be an awesome OS can't do MPG/AVI.
Note: I am currently rooted+nand+bugless beast 0.3 Although I was having this trouble before I had the custom rom or NAND unlocked.

Curious, have you tried Meridian? I don't really play a lot of videos on my phone, but Meridian has come through on everything so far for me. YMMV
Rock player is the best video player I have ever used on Android. I can play all my divx format movies without conversion and always get 25-30 fps.
The player is in private beta now and should be released soon.

Considering that the Evo has hardware-accelerated H.264 decoding, why bother playing other formats that will destroy your CPU and battery?

It's just that I received an e-mail MPG of my nephew riding his bike without training wheels and would like to see it that's all. Not sure what H.264 decoding is or if it has my nephew riding his bike without training wheels or not. I should go search for that thanks.
I just figure I should be able to view most any file attachment that comes into me these days.
H.264 is the video encoder for MP4's. Basically, if you used a program to convert your videos to MP4 videos, you would be able to play them without a problem. The phone has hardware acceleration for H.264, so it doesn't use as much processor/battery to play vs. other formats that have to be software decoded. Handbrake works good for me, though I can't remember what file types you can put into it.

The reason why you cannot play those mpg files is simple. Android doesn't support them out of the box. You need to turn to third-party video players which can do it.
Rock Demo Player is one (only one?) such video player.
You can try to use the third-party video player, I read an article is about the top 5 video player apps in Android Market. Maybe it is helpful to you.

That looks very smooth, I want to use it along with PS3 controller to play ShodowGun.
From the video, it looks like the Media Link can only handle mirroring but not streaming. Consider this cost almost the same as the Apple TV which does have both mirroring and streaming capability, I don't think I'll buy it at the current retail price.
P.S. Mirroring means both screen shows the same content. Streaming means you can play video from your device to the TV while do something else on your phone like web browsing.

Some HTC Staff person have played to ShadowGun and they said me it's amazing! It's looks like a PS3!!!

I have asked to know if I can use it with my DHD and they are not sure because of compatibility with Sense ;(
Was thinking about getting one of these but this video confirms what i thought the experience would be like, i think for the most part it's going to be useless, the guy in the video spent 90% of it looking at the screen on the phone to see where he is poking the touch screen
streaming works, i seen it work at a demo. Here
@shan The guy, it's me
It's true for games it's not a miracle but when you are lot of people to see a movie or other things (documents, pictures...) it could be so greatful
PS: I have added a new video :

Hey, ive got one question. This HTC Media thing, ist it connected via Ad Hoc Wifi or is it (or MUST it) be built in into your home wifi?
Why this question?
Because my Wifi Signal is very weak at home and therefore the Signals are weak as well. But with an Ad Hoc Connection only between the HTC Phone and the HTC Media thing (that connects to the TV..) you can get a good connection. BUT when your connect to the ad hoc WiFi (to your HTC Media Thing) are you able to surf via Wlan? Or do you have to use 3G?

Just to inform everyone so you don't make the same mistake that I did. The HTC Media LINK and the HTC Media Link HD are very different. The mirroring will NOT work on the HTC Media Link....is works ONLY on the HTC Media Link HD.
It's very ambiguous in all posting and documentation but again I am speaking from experience. The standard HTC Media Link will not mirror the One X. it can only act as a DNLA device.

Music and video

what's the best music and video (PAID & FREE) application for our beloved HTC ONE X?
also what type of video can we put on our X? any frame size limit? and the format as well...
I personally am satisfied with MixZing music player(bought their premium version too). But most popular one is PowerAmp and they said It's the best but they got paid version only though they offer free trial for 1 week or so I think.
For videos, I'm using BS player lite, they got hw acceleration feature also.

I love WinAmp. I love the retro feel.
I've been using the unofficial VLC beta, it's been okay for the most part.
ubermusic. skinnable so you can make it look great - way better than poweramp.
Happy with the stock apps
I purchased PowerAMP a while ago Ehen I has the X10 and Arc, but no need for it on the HOX

Beats is available to every 3rd party app.
And no you don't need to convert movies, except if it results in you getting a file with smaller size and you want that to save mbs.
As for music player, poweramp is definitely the best Imo. Although it didn't look that good but it's features kept me to it. Now with the ics skin, which someone posted on xda, it's definitely the coolest music player.
You might also give Apollo player a try. It will continue to improve. Still not in market I think, but should be there shortly. Google it if you can't wait.
For videos, try mx player. That's all on can say. Try and you'll have the answer to your question.

Video stuttering

Hello everyone. At first I have to say that english isn't my first language so please be understanding.
I've just bought new Note 3 and was pleased with it, until I've found that something is wrong with playing videos. When I try to watch some videos(for example anime) online, it is stuttering. Audio is ok but video lags like hell. Lets take videos from www*auby*no/files/video_tests/ (sorry I had to change "." with "*" because I was unable to post link to another site )as an examples.First I tried playing them online using official player and MX Player(using hardware decoding and software decoding). Then I downloaded them and tried playing again. While playing online using official player, every movie except Shrinkage and Shrinkage 2 was choppy. Playing them with use of MX Player with H/W resulted int the same thing(video lags), but when I changed to S/W everything run smoothly(except first two movies). Next I downloaded them and again tried to play them with official player, and guess what? Everything was ok. The same was with MX Player with H/W and of course S/W.
I also tried to play movies online with worse resolution (480p) and they were ok but other videos with 720p were stuttering. I also tried to play video in 720p using mobile-friendly online player and had lags, but when I played THE SAME video using not mobile-friendly online player(with usage of Flash Player) it was ok...
So dear friends I don't know what to do so I am counting on your help, because I really want to be able to watch movies online on this badass screen.
Try DicePlayer. Still one of the best players IMO, and one of the few that can play videos directly off of Windows network shares (though I use ES File Explorer to browse and Dice to play)
No stutter here playing even 10+Mbps 1080p h264 over wireless from samba shares on my NAS. (Haven't tried 20Mbps yet)
Well, I've tried this DicePlayer and it is really nice but only with playing videos where I can choose which player to use. If I, for example want to watch a movie on dailymotion I can't choose if I want to use MxPlayer or DicePlayer or something else. I have to watch it using dailymotion player (right?) and using these kind of players make videos stutter. That's my problem.
Note 3 has a problem. Verizon and ATT versions also show stuttering when streaming video. I have it in YouTube and other videos that streamed from a website.
We shouldn't have to use third party players, especially when it's not even an option (can't choose one) or in the case of youtube it's an app. This is nonsense. Samsung needs to address this issue. How can we contact them? I've been trying to figure that out.

I never said it was every handset. But I've seen complaints regarding this issue on t mobile, verizon, att and the international version. I haven't checked others.
Try any hd video. They show it the most. But if you don't have the issue I don't expect you to see symptoms.
Try another browser with java support like maxthon
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ok. I've noticed another thing. Stuttering happens only with films in HD. For example I've played some film from vimeo in (probably) 480p and it was fine, but after playing it in 720p lags occurred. Also I've tried maxthon but it didn't help.
So, to sum up everything for now, stuttering occurs when I try to play HD films online, where I can't choose players like DicePlayer or MxPlayer and have to use "built-in" online players (for example on Dailymotion or Vimeo) and also when I try to play films online (which I can play using players on my note) using official player or MxPlayer with H/W or H/W+.
I talked to Samsung via Chat and the guy said he's never heard of this issue. I find that amazing since I've seen the complaints all versions of the Note 3.
We shouldn't have to watch videos in 480p and we shouldn't have to switch browsers. All this does is try to avoid running into a problem that shouldn't be there to begin with.
It's a high end device with a low end problem. Something is wrong. I suggest you all that are having issues to tell Samsung about it. Call or chat or do some type of communication.
I've talked with someone from samsung via live chat and he said that if phone doesn't have problem with playing films on sd card it isn't problem with phone itself. He also said that he will pass it to proper department. Also doesn't this problem seem like this one? Maybe it's not problem with note 3 but with JB 4.3?
Yeah you're right, can't stream some HD videos, especially on vimeo. Youtube is fine for me on full hd. Anything downloaded plays perfectly though.
I've had this issue on two different T-Mobile notes. HD videos in any browser for me stutter. I'm hoping its software related and can get patched soon.

I hope that it will come out soon if it's software related, because if it was hardware related I would have to change it and it restrains me for now from rooting it.
