[ROM][MZ605][ICS] AOSP ICS for Xoom MZ605 (WiFi + GSM)

Hi! I compiled a custom ROM especially for brazilian users (like me) that are stuck on Honeycomb. This is based on AOSP.
What's included:
* GAPPS;
* SMS + MMS (there's another build without it);
* (useless) Face Lock (there's another build without it too);
* PT-BR by default;
* Pre-root (simply install Superuser from Market);
* Stock kernel;
And... that's it. =)
Note that recovery is not required, only 'boot' and 'system' images are. I recommend you to use CWM Recovery or simmilar. The included stock recovery has problems on wiping data partition, and it's use is discouraged.
All files are fastboot images and were made to be flashed with it.

fastboot flash boot boot.img (for flash boot partition)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (for flash recovery partition)
fastboot flash system system.img (for flash system partition)
fastboot erase userdata (for wiping data)
fastboot erase cache (for wiping cache)
fastboot -w (for wiping data and cache)

Hey, it´s nice to know that someone is working on our beloved mz605.
I have a microsoft USB wifi keyboard ABNT2.
But ICS wouldn't recognise this keyboard layout and assumes the US layout.
Does your rom recognise the ABNT2 External Keyboard Layout?
I read somewhere that the Asus Transformer sold in Brazil would recognise and set the layout to ABNT2 if the Portuguese is chosen as the default language.
But I can´t figure out how to extract this keyboard layout from the Transformer rom and transfer it to the Xoom.
The 3.1 brazilian stock rom wouldn´t recognise the ABNT2 layout either.
Since you are working with the mz605, could you help or give some directions?

Hi! I can do some research around it. I bought my MZ605 a few days ago and I doesn't have a USB adapter or Bluetooth Keyboard. This will be my next acquisition. =P This ROM is working like a charm for me. I doesn't like modified stuff/look'n'feel due to my purposes with this device (development).

Does is it very different from TeamEOS? What's the features? Antutu Score? Is there OverClock? Sorry for being so "Rude" but I want to know if it's better than TeamEOS MZ601 build

It doesn't have any other feature than what came with aosp (inc. stock kernel). It only includes sms support but have another that will be published without.

I'll create it. It's now ODEXED, recovery fixed, fixed some values in framework, a try to fix signal strenght, changed RIL libs.

First thing, please note that this is an international community so please limit yourself to Portuguese only when using Private Messages for example. When sharing a post to everyone this creates a language barrier among the language speakers and those who are not.
Now to answer your question, there is an official Jellybean update for some years now, you can either update it through the system factory ROM or (if you are stock) using the OTA update. And if you checked the other development threads you'd see that there are KitKat ROMs and even some marshmallow builds floating around.
Also, before you mention you have MZ605 and not MZ604 or MZ601, I'll gladly let you know that you can use their ROMs without any problem. All the time I spent with the Motorola Xoom was with a MZ601 ROM. The MZ604 only sacrifices your mobile connectivity (3g data), though for wifi only it will work.
And lastly, please in the next time be more considerate of thread necro. This thread has been inactive since 2012.

Rom MZ605 Please!
Hi, I own a brand new MZ605, it was forgotten in a drawer for years! the tablet is as factory released and I want to recover for use, It has android 3.0.1 and almost none of their apps are working today.
I tried to update but I suspect motorola has removed all rom updates for such tablet.
Have anyone some rom to level up this beautifull thing to a more modern and usable android version?

XPOSED Lollipop

Just got Lollipop a couple hours ago (last night) so I factory reset and downloaded most of my stuff again, and I was wondering about something..
I read on the Xposed thread that it does not work on Stock TouchWiz devices because of some problems that TW causes. I really actually like touchwiz, the stylus features, the camera, and the extra features.
If I use a TouchWiz ROM would Xposed still work, or no?
There reason I'm confused is because it is not stock touchwiz, but it is still touchwiz. Any help on this would be great, thanks!

I ran into trouble this morning trying to use the Xposed for Lollipop. My phone stopped booting at the yellow Sprint screen. Fortunately, I had backed up my phone just before trying to install and was able to go back into TWRP and restore.

- It seems to boot loop on Samsung stock ROMs. I have received a file which I can use to analyse this issue, but it might take some time.
Update: There's a difference in the format of *.oat files on Samsung ROMs. I'm trying to find out more.

I read that before creating this thread. It says "Samsung stock ROMs" I'm asking if it will work on a custom TW ROM

I'm guessing.. a big maybe? I don't know.
I miss using Xposed with App settings module so I can control the font size on all my apps. Until they get this fixed, I am seriously thinking about temporarily switching to an AOSP or CM based rom so I can make it work.

No, xposed doesn't work on the Sprint Note 4 yet.
(It says so in that thread).
I can confirm that it doesn't work on CM12 based roms neither.

XPosed works just fine on CM12 ROMs, I have it installed on a few devices.

Are you talking about on the Note 4? I can't imagine that making a difference on CM12, as the issues with xposed on lollipop is limited to stock Samsung ROMs. I have a G2 and Nexus 7 both on CM12 with xposed installed and working.

I'm not sure if it is the widgets that is causing the problem, but when I rooted my device, installed all of the widgets I would want to make sure to keep from TW on the screen, and then I installed Nova Launcher Prime. On the home page there was a gadget that allows you to transfer and old launcher to the new launcher, and in the case of TW, and having the phone rooted, there is an option now that needs root that will pull the old gidget to to new launcher. so you go thru that, and place marks for the gadgets from TW will be put on your new desktop.
You click on the place mark, choose the gadget that is supposed to go there, and it will be put into the new launcher. When you get all of the gidgets transferred you want, you simply uninstall the TW and TW Easy launchers, and it works like a charm. Keep in mind, the gadget is a program and that program will get transferred into the launcher. Plus, a lot of the extra features that go with the SPen aren't linked to TW, they are linked to the system itself, so you won't lose any SPen features.
That process can take awhile, depending on how many widgets you are transferring, and after I did a clean install for the upgrade, did all of the above steps, TW does not exist on my Samsung. It's not a ROM thing, simply putting on a new launcher and taking off the other launchers...

Xposed works just fine for me on my note 4 with cm12 installed on it once i change Selinux to permissive

tw launchers uninstalled
I have never used tw always google now so i uninstalled tw but it still wont boot is it the kauncher itself or the samsung firmware please advise i like to customize the look of my rom but stay atock for functionality and stability any feedback?

Just because you can't see the launcher doesn't mean the lib and framework files that are required for the rom to run don't exist. Its still touchwiz based, no matter what you make things "appear"

TW still exists, just in framework and lib files.

Yo no he probado Xponsed en mi note con la versión Lollipop 5.0.1, con la versión 4.4.4 Kitka si me funcionaba a la perfección pero ahora ni me atrevo hasta que no vea qu4 funciona al 100% y confirmado por usuarios que demuestten que ya lo han instalado y usado. Es mejor esperar que entrar en riesgos... ya que los mismos programadores advierten de posibles bloqueos en los Samsung en especial.
Espero que pronto salga la versión oficial estable para todos los dispositivos Samsung.
Gracias por el gran trabajo y el empeño por parte de los desarrolladores. Gran aporte.

I havnt tested xposed on my note running lollipop 5.0.1 with the 4.4.4 kitkat version used to work perfectly but now i dont dare to try until i dont see its working %100 and cornfirmed by users that demonstrate that they had it installed and used. Its better to wait that take risks.... since even the their own programmers advice of possible bricks specially on samsungs.
Hope official and stable version gets released soon for every samsung device. Thanks for the great work and commitment of the developers. Great contribution.

as for me i been following xposed since 4.3 and ive loved all features... just recently upgraded to official tmobile 5.0 rom on my note 3 and i been missing all the features willing to beta test if needed also if anyone know the feature.xml or other.xml mod to add the long press back to kill and remove long press home for recent app would be awesome

1.- por que cuando intento abrir sense 6 toolbox, me dice que no es compatible con android 5, entonces como se abre o para que esta si no funciona??
2.- mi otra duda es, cuando meto muchas aplicaciones a una carpeta no puedo deslizarme para verlas todas, que puedo hacer?

VERIZON I would like to check this ROM out. Can I dirty Flash red bull M8 V10 over my SD V8 Sense 7x install? As I looked through the builds I see that Sprint and Verizon support comes and goes. Is it supported in V10? Thanks in advance. Excited to try this ROM.

With v13 I am getting sense input force close repeatedly on setup screen. I know that it was fixed in v12 but seems to have come back. I just flashed sdv13 nothing else also I am on AT&T M8 but don't think that would make a difference

HTC Sense input force close issue on redbulled v13 rom
I flashed SD redbulled v13 slim half an hour ago but when the phone finished booting i was left with no option but to downgrade to v12 because i kept getting the "HTC Sense Input has stopped working" error. I did a full wipe just before installation twice but kept getting the error. when will the fix for this come out?

issues found on v16:
1. google play services always stopped and also the messaging.
2. after formatted the data to f2fs, it keeps changing back to ext4 after rom installation.

However, after I have installed the ROM v16 f2fs, the cache turns back to ext4 after rebooting to normal even though i change it to f2fs. The system and data is not affected and still f2fs.

You do know that the only diffrents between the T800 & T805 is the LTE(radio) ? For example. This Rom will flash on the T805 but since I didnt include the Modem(radio) you wont get the LTE service. only the wifi.
I have had both T800 & T805.. I sold the T805. It was worthless to me. More custom mods on the T800 then the T805..

I know that,but i did flash chanhalite rom couple time and i get error message every time...says this rom is chancalite and you device is lte.... i may try this one too

The same here. After install the SDCard disappear and there's no possibility to mount USB external card, although when it's removed the system shows an popup telling that it was pulled out...

i try this anyway...and says this rom chanchalite and your devise is lte same happening when i try cm11 T-805 fifi rom.....
now i use ironRom... or ironman rom best rom now to my device... cyanogen rom waiting

If you would read the instructions, you would see the part where it say, FLASH @Chainfires SuperSu for init.d support to work that loads the modules. since sd card part is a module.. If you dont flash
SuperSu you will have to open a terminal and load the modules by hand.

settings crashes on newest build 3/20
also having this problem and also a wifi issue in which I could connect to my wifi but when going to contacting network is would just hang this is on a new clean install coming off of ironrom downloaded and installed the build before this and everything is working great so far. Nice rom. This is my first post after being a member for a couple years I guess. this site has been a savior for me many times and has gotten me outta some tough situations. thanks to this site,the developers,and this developer as well.

Buenos días. Perdonen escriba en español. Maravilloso trabajo. Unicamente he detectado un problema al conectar un altavoz externo a traves de Bluetooth. Se entrecorta continuamente. ¿A que se puede deber?. No se si es problema de la rom o de llolipop en general.

finaly i get cm11 my T-805 lte and i so happy...i can't wait lollipop to my tablet....i hope soon...

I seem to have that Bluetooth issue with all non stock based ROMs currently. Ironrom is fine but every other ROM is dropping Bluetooth audio 2-3 times a minute making it unlistenable.

This is unofficial Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware ported by myself from USA version of Idol 3 4.7" OT-6039S. Firmware is 1:1 as original but with additional languages support. Official 6039S firmware has only five languages - English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Espanol, Francais and Italiano. My version is customized and supports much mode languges: Russian, Ukrainian, Deutsch, Eesti, English (both, USA and UK), Francais, Latviesu, Lietuviu and Romana. Here is some screenshots (see in Attached Thumbnails).
Installation instruction
1. First of all you must install TWRP on your Idol 3 4.7", there are several methods how to do that (all of them described on this forum). You can use fastboot (if flash and boot commands are not locked in your firmware), or you can use QFIL to return fastboot commands implementation and flash TWRP.
2. Download and unpack following archive in a separate folder - idol347-android-6.0.1-rus-twrp-backup.rar (archive password is decker.su)
3. Boot in TWRP and make backup of your current firmware (!), it's important. Choose Backup option in TWRP's main menu, select Storage as external SD card and make backup of your system and boot partition.
4. Make Wipe / Factory reset through TWRP menu. If you have CM (Cyanogen) Mod ROM installed, make sure that after wipe your Cache and Data partitions are formatted in Ext4 (if not, for example you have f2fs cache and data - format they to Ext4 through TWRP, it's important).
5. After you make your backup on external microSD - you'll have the following folder structure. TWRP -> Backups -> xxxxyyyy, where is xxxxyyyy is a 8 alpha-digital "number". It's unique for each device.
6. Copy this folder 2016-06-11--05-25-24_MMB29M_release-keys from archive to xxxxyyyy folder on microSD and choose Restore in TWRP.
7. Reboot the phone !
After reboot Android can boot 5-7 minutes first time. It's normal. Welcome to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Hey thanks for the work!! I have been using these since yesterday, works great on my 6039A, the only problem I found was that I can't set any type of secuirty for my lockscreen, just "None" and "Swipe" work, the rest make settings FC.
Also, is there a way to add spanish back again?
Those 2 are minor issues anyway, thanks for giving people from outisde US MM

This is already known "bug", unfortunatelly, seems this bug exists on an original USA (6039S) firmware (or it can happens due
due to some incompatibility between 6039S and other 6039* models). The main idea is to waiting for next update 6.0.1 in USA and looks how this thing will works, if in next update this "bug" will be fixed - i will release an update of customized firmware.
Also, is there a way to add spanish back again?

Yes, Spanish is missed according to my mistake In next release i will don't forget to add it in firmware. But can't promise a specific date of this release.

As I said, I am already extremly thanful that you made all of this possible. The spanish thing is a minor issue, I found an app that lets you add any language, system is still in englsih but it forces most apps to use the language you select.
And for the lockscreen, I am already using a third party one, so both problems are kinda solved for me.
Hopefuly we keep getting awesome stuff for our device from awesome people like you!

No, OTA updates will not work. Better initially turn off automatic updates to avoid any errors. OTA updates is fully functional on non-modified devices only. I mean - to work with OTA your phone must have all unmodified partitions, original recovery, etc. In this case, when you installed customized firmware - you'll have modified recovery partition (TWRP is installed) and modified system partition (firmware, as described above was customized to add additional languages), and, at last - you have other partitions from your device, not from original 6039S USA. This is the reason for which the OTA update will not work.
p.s. If USA verision will have major global updates - i will update this firmware too.

I will release firmware with Spanish language this week, wait plz. And now you can just type in dialer *#0034# to get some Spanish in interface. NB! This is activate spanish, but only for apps and menus that have spanish localization in resources.

Support of dual SIM can be added only after official release 6.0.1 for Dual SIM Idol 3 6039K in any region. As far as i know - 6.0.1 now exists only for one SIM phone. But you still could try this firmware. The only limitation - that your phone will see only one SIM card slot. And, of course, before flashing this TWRP backup is strongly recommended to backup your original firmware in TWRP.

So which SuperSu do you recommend to flash?

Even had an update to 2.65, just flashed exposed, boots fine, I'm gonna active 3 modules right now
Update: reboot without Issues, gravity box seems to work fine, I only touched the status bar settings to move the clock and hide some icons, other settings are yet to be seen

Can you check if navigation button mod works on gravity box please? I tried to bind long press recents to last app but couldn't get it to work. Status bar worked fine for me

No lo he probado, pero pareciera que por lo que me dices, las funciones alejadas de la experiencia stock de android no se aplican con gravity box, quise activar las funciones de reinicio avanzado desde gravity box y me las ignoro completamente.

this is very important, because I don't want a MM with only 8GB and without fastboot commands.

Not quite. Firmware is partition-size independent. So, if you have only 8 Gb userdata partition - in Marshmallow you will obtain 8 Gb of internal memory. If you initially have 16 Gb device, or your device was already repartitioned - in MM you will have 16 Gb of memory. All needed manuals, i mean - how to do repartiton, or how to return working fastboot commands already exists on this forum. Read appropriate topics.

Radio module (modem) is not included in this firmware backup. In other words - after flashing this fimrware you'll have your original radio from stock (or previous version of firmware). I.e. - nothing changed, you'll have same frequencies as on your previous firmware.
