Hopefully someone else might find this useful.
I updated to retail froyo (first Telstra AU 3.4.2_145 then Nor 3.4.2_177). both times full sbf flash and wiping data/cache/dalvaik to try and solve my issues so it seems common amongst all Retail 2.2 builds.
Issue 1.
Bluetooth Headset would pair fine and make calls and stay paired. But once headset was turned off and turned on again it would disconnect AFTER hanging up on a phone call. Pressing headset button would then pair it again.
RESOLUTION: edit /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf file from
---------------
# Do not require master role for incoming connections
Master=false
------------------
to
----------------
# Do not require master role for incoming connections
Master=true
----------------
Seems the first time it was paired the handset was the master, but subsequent times the headset became the master, thus dropping the connection once the phone call was finished.
Issue 2.
CPU usage at 100% when handset paired with Car Stereo (JVC KD-BT1). Pretty much no other app would work as the cpu was pinging. I used Catlog to take a dump while this was happening and noticed text messages from over a year ago being transmitted. Turns out 2.2 update enabled Text messaging transfer to my phone and since I had 1600+ texts this was capping the CPU.
PARTIAL RESOLUTION: delete the text messages. I havent worked out if the issues is with the Car stereo not liking that many texts, or if the text db is being refreshed every time the phone pairs. IF anyone has any ideas or even how to stop the text message syncing (i did try stopping the process bluetoothMAP but that didnt help).

I have had my SX66 since Wednesday. Here are the issues I have found, and if anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know!
1. Bluetooth is really bad. Scratchy, drop connections, says signal is low even when headset (Jabra 250) is right next to the unit. (I have the O2 3500 stack installed)
2. Bluetooth response time for headset answer button is SLOW, as is sending the data to the headset when a call comes in and is answered by headset.
3. When Bluetooth is ON, the phone will turn the display ON at random intervals, killing the battery if the backlight is left in the on mode.
4. WiFi is horrible, drops connections constantly, even in same room with router (Linksys w/5db antennas atached). Also, it will NOT work with a network unless the SSID s broadcast - so much for security!
5. The phone features are SO vastly different than regular phones, it makes you wonder if it is working. My unit will NOT echo the DTMF into the headset (which every phone I have ever owned did) to confirm pressing (for VM retirval, etc.). Very confusing.
6. Answer after x rings is a joke. I have it set to 2 rings, and it will never answer automatically headset or not...what's the point?
I hope someone out there can help, otherwise, I may have to put this baby on eBay...because it really sucks at this point!
Tom
Update
Well, I downloaded the O2 update, and that seems to have made a difference in the STABILITY of the BT connection; the unit did not drop my headset at all during the day; further the "response" of the SX66 to a command from the headset seems faster.
Also, since I installed this update, I have NOT seen the screen turn on...perhaps this helped that problem...?
 The BT is STILL scratchy/noisy, but not as bad...perhaps the next round will help...?
I will keep you posted!
I have/had the same issues you are describing. The bluetooth patch 3500-124 fixed almost all my BT issues except the extremely low signal. I tried the HS810, HS820 and the Jabra 250. All were horrible. I even went as far as installing the latest i-mate pda2k ROM 1.22.00 wwe on my sx66. I finally took the advice of a poster on another forum (thanks mswlogo) and purchased a sony hbh-300. So far it has been great. It handles the low signal like a champ and doesnt offer any static or popping.
Need a friggin repeater!
Someone should make a BT repeater...or maybe I should try one of those internal antennas..."as seen on tv!"
Hi. I've playing for several days with my new trinity and have installed AX3L 2.0.7.0. So far i'm pretty happy with it, apart from a couple of problems:
I cannot get wireless stereo to work. I can connect the pda to my car's stereo, it identifies the HTC as a bluetooth audio device but after a few seconds, it disconnects. If I start playing something while in Wireless Stereo connection, it plays it through the pda's internal speaker.
I can't figure out how to leave Bluetooth's "Make this device visible to other devices" on. I have switched it on a dozen times and a dozen times it has been disabled. I'm not sure if it is disabled whenever I turn bluetooth off or after a certain amount of time. The fact is that it becomes disabled.
I think my last problem has already been covered here, MMS. I've seen a couple of notifications about a MMS being downloaded but there's no MMS in the inbox, i guess there's something blocking it, but that's what worries me least.
Great job, AX3L!

First, try to install my new rom (2.0.8)....i have cleaned the registry and added some tweaks....maybe bluetooth become working (for you!)...
If not, try to edit the setting using "TweakUI"'s AD2P tab (Settings -> System)
I'll give it a shot this weekend, when i can backup my data so nothing gets lost. (BTW, where is the backup device I used to have with activesync with my old ipaq3970?)
I have searched around to find documentation to understand TweakUI AD2P settings, but i didn't see it around. Any clue whether Joint Stereo Should be enabled, meaning of Bitpool, Audio Gateway numbers?
Try to:
REMOVE the following values from the registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings if they are present:
- BitPool
- MaxSupportedBitPool
ADD the following value to the registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings:
Name: SampleRate
Value (DWORD): 48000 (decimal)
SoftReset the device and try again
ONLY IN CASE not working....
install the Sleuth255's Patch http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31755&d=1165092579
(after install, softreset your device)
Thanks, that did the trick of bluetooth visibility not auto-turning off. Anyhow, it seems there is some kind of incompatibility between Pioneer DEH-P75BT (my car receiver) and the HTC. As a hands free, I have to manually set it from the pda as Hands free so they pair each other, and BT Audio function connects as before, but sound is still played through pda's speaker.
Thanks for the tip, AX3L
I found some registry changes to resolve a lot of the bluetooth issues as far as the connection disconnecting after 1 ring, the hangup issue, etc.. HOWEVER.. now I have an issue with LAG where when connected to bluetooth, after a while the phone will lag and you can see everything moving in slow motion.. if I disconnect the bluetooth then the phone speeds back up.. ANY IDEAS? the only device I see this NOT happening with is my STEREO BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES MOTOROLA S9... Here is what I changed:
1. Modify the HandsFree plug-in:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree
i. Change SupportedFeatures to 45 (default is 1135)
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType decimal 2
2. Modify the WIDCOMM bluetooth general settings:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\General
i. Change bdaddr to (no value)
ii. Change DisableReopenAudio to 0 (default is 1)
If anyone can figure out how to resolve the bluetooth LAG I would appreciate it....
anyone have a fix? also now the last received, last called and missed do not grab info from the phone.. it only shows the calls I have made using the bluetooth device...
I have noticed a similar lag, and, on my end it's not so much after a phone call, but after anything associated with BT (I use a Moto HX-1).
Does not do it all the time....If I am in the middle of doing something with the phone, and I get a notification through the ear piece (voice command), everything starts to stutter. Side note, at times, the silly phone heats up, and battery starts to drop.
I reran an OLDER rom for a couple days, and didn't have ONE issue.
Sounds like something in the later rom builds has changed something in the BT?
I've also noticed this recently. Whenever the phone is hooked up to my in-car bluetooth (Audi), it runs like an absolute dog. As soon as it disconnects, it runs fine again. This is most frustrating as it can make the phone unusable when connected to the car kit.
Anyone gotten to the bottom of this yet - is it an issue with a newer bluetooth stack or something?
I have been having issues with this device and bluetooth hands free ability. No matter the app: Skype, Line, WhatsApp, QQ, etc. any attempt to make or receive a voice call causes the device to disconnect from the headunit. For example, making a call the phone tries to dial and the dialing only happens on the phone and the bluetooth connection breaks. Receiving a call, the headunit shows dialing and then the connection breaks. It's really frustrating because bluetooth audio using Spotify, Songza or any other music app works fine.
Another issue that is likely not related: After around 24-48hrs the device no longer will connect to the headunit unless I delete the pairing and remake it. I tap the device in the bluetooth screen and it does nothing. If i delete the pairing and reconnect, it immediately reconnects without issue and the pairing will work for the next day or so, then the problem reoccurs.
Does anyone know ways to help fix this?
Anyone?
My P6P (US Unlocked) no longer plays media via bluetooth in my car. It just decided to stop suddently (while playing). Calls are still fine.
Things I tried:
- Bluetooth On/Off (On the car and on the phone)
- Unpairing/Pairing
- Reset Network Preferences on the phone
- Tried another phone with the car (works fine)
- Enabled/Disabled the bluetooth media profile (kept the calls and contacts sharing)
- Paired other bluetooth speakers to the phone and they work fine.
The phone seems to think that audio is playing and so is the car, it's just silent. I'm on the December update.
Any thoughts?
Are you by chance having this problem with SOUNDCLOUD? It's been trouble since my Pixel 2 & 3XL / Android 11. And I can get it started with force stop + clear cache, but it is a pain!

Nope, it's Youtube music, pokecasts and Google maps. I suppose it's everythings except calls.

I've had a similar issue since getting the P6P. Usually it's (randomly) when I try to skip/restart a song or when the song ends the phone will still think it's playing, but the display for the car will show it's paused so audio will stop. To get it playing again I have to turn the phone screen on and press pause then play and it'll start playing normally. As you mentioned, only an issue in the car. No issues with any other bluetooth devices.
I haven't been able to get to the bottom of it, but I updated to the December build last night hoping that might fix the issue. Haven't been anywhere yet today to see if it worked, but your post is giving me doubts now lol.
Edit: Just to add, this is playing music locally from storage with the Retro Music app.
Since the December update i have the same problem, it will connect to phone but will disconnect and not reconnect to play media
On the December update. Was in the car today playing all my media. Iike Spotify and local music and works like a charm. Sounds awesome in my Mazda 3 through Bluetooth. Also same call signal as before more or less. Right now at least is good....but haven't left my area as it's the weekend. LOVE MY P6P!
More things I tried:
- In Developer Settings, changed Bluetooth AVRCP to version 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6.
- In Developed Settings, disabled hardware A2DP.
Still no dice, maybe I should go for a factory reset? Man this phone is weird
Yeah my bluetooth headphones and my home theater amp do not skip a beat, but my car keeps cutting out the music, only just started happening, slightly after decmeber update, so I think they pushed other updates (playstore) which caused these issues. Rebooting the phone fixed it, but nothing else including mentioned in the OP repairing the phone to the car, seemed to make it slightly better.
I too have also noticed the similar issue where the music just stops for no reason, and the phone app thinks its still playing, phone reports it's still connected.
For the OP, if you rock the volume keys up down and up again does it change, beause I did have mine at some point force to zero volume.
Update, it scould be related to temperature because in the morning do not seem to have the same problem, only in the afternoon, temp about 30deg C

I tried to rock the volume buttons on both the car and the phone and it doesn't seem to change anything. Both the car and the phone actually think that music is playing (as if it was on mute) and the progress time is always in sync.

Nope, It was actually fixed after factory reseting the car's headunit. Weird but at least it's all good now....

Hi mate, i had same issue, installing android 12L beta 3 fix all my problems, battery is awesome, fingerprint fast, animations smooth like butter....give it a chance and try, maybe fix all your problems.
I know it's a long shot but you should check the settings for automatic do not disturb. I had that happen when the phone realized I was driving and it drove me nuts. Uncheck and mystery solved.
Now if someone can tell me why at completely random times and within a call the device switches back to phone speaker or watch Bluetooth while on an Android auto phone call I'd be appreciative.

Try disabling a2dp hardware offload in the developer settings, fixed all my bluetooth issues.
