so best buy installed an invis shield on my tbolt the day i bought it. the thing has always been too big, it bubbles up so bad i cannot even put a case on it. today in the heat i have tons of huge bubbles, never seen this happen before. so i got ticked and ordered a phantom skinz. i think ill stay away from the shields from now on.

I installed my invisibleh myself and ivliked it at first. After a while, it just gets a tad cloudy IMO...or those lines show up..
That was back on my EVO. I removed it because that a pen snagged it and while the funky film protected the screen, it left a wrinkle in the screen and that darn thing never reformed itself.
Got stenhiel and was fine till my EVO went swimming XD.
I'm so much happier the hard clear screens than dreadful no scratch films that look like orange peels on clear coat.

I have the invisible shield and installed it my self. I love it no bubbles and it takes a beating. I do notice I have to clean it with that cleaning cloth it came with every once in a while because slight smears will not clean up with a quick wipe from a t-shirt. Other than that I don't regret buying it at all. Worth every penny for me.
I had phantom skins on my previous phone for 2 years, and it was great, now I got same on Thunderbolt.
My wife had invisible skins and it wasn't that easy to put on without bubbles on her phone screen, dropped skin after a year, it started to come off in corners

thinking about trying phantom skins..but have never really liked screen protectors :/
i got an Invisi-Shield from Best Buy Mobile also. some guy working there installed it for me and it did seem slightly off & the next day there were still some bubbles on it. i ended up going back again and this time a girl re-installed it for me and it's perfect now.
moral of the story, ask for a female employee to install it for you.
I used to buy ghost armor, invisi-shield, and another expensive one...can't remember the name? Anyway, now all I get are the cheap ones. The one I'm running with right now is the free one that came with Seidio Convert from Amazon and honestly its the best SP I've ever had on. Can't tell its there and replacements are like 3 for $3 or something like that?
Just my 2 scents...

Zagg is still the best IMHO. Sounds like someone didn't install it right for you. I've installed my own on my last few devices and they lasted me yeeears, and still work and still have the invisashield on them
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...
I just go my own and I did it myself. Follow the instructions, take your time wet, wet and wet your hands and the film. Use the tools they sent you and squeeze and squeeze over and over. My final results was crystal clear and no complains.
What I dislike about the invisible shield is the finger slice on the glass, it feels different and somewhat different to move screen.
I use SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal. I think its the best screen protector I've ever used. Its clear like glass, smooth like glass, and scratch resistant like glass. Most people who see my phone don't even realize there's a screen protector on it. I've used Zagg before and I didn't like it. It has an orange-peel effect, reduces screen visibility, and isn't smooth when you slide your finger on it.
I went and found a Ghost Armor kiosk in my mall and gave it a shot. Much better than Invisishield and Verizon ones! I will not use another screen protector brand ever again if i can help it.

Screen protector is not needed for this phone. It's got the GORILLA (glass).
I've had my phone since its launch, storing it my pockets and no scratches. If you use your pockets, the fabric will easily wipe off the prints.

Don't listen to that guy, its glass it will scratch. The general consensus it that Realook is the best protector because once you apply it you cant tell its there.

Sent from a Galaxy using XDA App
I've been babying my phone for a few weeks but my screen protectors are in the mail.
Gorilla glass is tough, no doubt, but so is sand. Minor scratches can happen, so I've been extra careful.
OP: I've done a lot of research, and based on a really good youtube video I had it narrowed to either Ghostarmor or Reallook screen protectors.
You'll find a lot of happy customers for either. You'll also find, if you look hard enough, some who prefer both over the other XD. I've read in some mall kiosks and bestbuys, you can find Ghostarmor and have it professionally applied with some kind of toaster... If you want to cover the whole phone (front/back/sides), then Ghostarmor seems the way to go.
Reallook however has a lot of happy customers here on xda and elsewhere... I figured for $10 for a pair it'd be worth a shot. That's my conclusion after spending too much time researching the topic =).
I'd say to definitely go with realook screenprotectors. I've tried many different ones but this is by far the best
+1 for the Realook screen protector.
I have had three vibrants and was able to re-install the *same* realook screen protector without bubbles! People don't believe that I have a screen protector on. Plus it doesn't affect the touch screen's response.

I figured this out.
If you get minor air bubble above/below the ear speaker without dust underneath, the trick is not to push the air out so much as you need to create horizontal tension across the top of the screen protector.
Alternately push the SP from any bubbles around the speaker towards the top-left and top-right corners of the phone - not just up to the nearest (top) edge. I was able to get the problem 99% solved one evening, then the next day when I woke up the sucker was perfectly flush everywhere!
I got the zagg screen protector but I wouldn't recommend it. Especially if you use swype. The zagg is a little sticky and has a little resistance when using swype. My biggest problem was that my home button stopped responding with it on. It became such a nuisance that I had to take it off. I don't think it was zagg's fault but the sensitivity over the home button is just weird.

i got clearfreak installed on my vibrant and my wifes vibrant. i had reallook but couldn't get the bubbles out around the ear speaker.
Had high hopes for it after installing one on my ipad mini. Turned out great and is clear as day. Put one on my note 2 and got water trapped under the protector and its not drying up after 4 days. Even put it in rice, no go. Waste of money. Suggestions? Should i pull it and redo?

If you put on your iPad and you're happy with it, then the HD shield doesn't suck. You just botched somewhere and ruined the installation. Take it to a Zagg kiosk in the mall, and have them apply it.

It's not botched as it went on fine with no bubbles. It's the fact the liquid never dried up despite putting it in rice. I don't t have any zagg kiosks near me or I would. I'm just afraid to pull it off and try again.

Nope, took it off and redid it. Still too much liquid under the protector after sitting in rice to dry quicker. also its now stretched a bit. Probably just a defective shield. I'll buy something different for it.

Not to bump this but i bought these and they are awesome. Dry install, barely noticable and crystal clear. only paid $16 and just bought another pack for the future. Apparently they dont scratch easy, we shall see.
After trying everything, and I mean all of them... I fell in love with the iSmooth protector. It's thicker than the normal protector, which aids in the install. Plus, if you leave em a good review on amazon they send you three extra protectors for free. I find the fingerprints to show up less than with the sgp ultra crystal as well. YMMV

+1 to ismooth, after trying most waterbase and film base, this is actually the best screen protector i have ever tried. It actually makes the screen better. Hard to scratch (which is unlike i have never seen for a film protector) and almost invisible to detect is on.
Wet screen protector is NOT recommended for its gooey surface which can interfere S-Pen.
I used Realook and Glassil, and they work fine (the latter seems to have much better scratch resistance).
I may try Clarivue tempered glass in the future.
yea
i hate screen protectors
I had the Zagg HD on my S3, ripped it off after a week. The 'self healing' is crap. There were so many indentions on the screen from my fingernails or from miscellaneous things in my pocket. Just ordered a Mime tempered glass screen protector so I'll see how that goes. I've never used the glass protectors before.

The zagg will probably be cut better. But the ghost armor will probably have less orange peel/slightly thinner.

Get GA installed by them and you have lifetime warranty, including damage, on the screen protector
My vote is on GA, never liked Zagg's orange peel feel. GA is completely smooth
Martin Fields is the best.
I got a spigen first, and botched the install, so had to throw it away, but what was correctly applied looked great.
Then I got a Zagg, and I'm very very disappointed. The back looks good, but the front has what looks like a fold line, and is definitely not cut to adequate dimensions.
Also, the orange peel look is horrible.
Bottom line: forget the Zagg, get a spigen (I have no experience of the ghost armor)
I wonder if with zagg will have their protector available in the matte style for the one. I like it better than their normal version. The cut will also never fully cover the screen so that when you use I case, there is no worry if it pushing the protector up

I used a Skinomi on my wive Nokia and I like it very much, dont see it at all and doesnt seems to affect the touch at all. So I ordered a Skinomi from Amazon and going to install that one on my HTC One. They are only 10 dollar.
Neither, I always get phantomskinz, since ye olde palm pre days. I've tried several brands and in my experience they are always well cut, has zero orange peel, and 'heals' better than other brands (especially skinomi which seems to quickly gather marks)
Non-disclaimer - I don't work for phantomskinz just have been very happy with them

Phantom Skinz
I second the Phantom Skinz vote, as well. I'm not associated with the company at all but highly recommend their product over Zagg. Never used Ghost Armour, so can't comment on that. Great price and customer service too.
Using a Zagg for the meantime. It doesnt fit well. Lots of gap on the sides.
Awaiting my SGP + Clear Slim Case which is delayed until May
Using a Zagg, since I couldn't find anything else in my local area.
I had the guy at Best Buy apply it for me, since I'm usually terrible at applying screen protectors due to being an absolute perfectionist on how it comes out.
I have Ghost Armor on my Nexus 10 and it is great, fits well, perfectly smooth, few gaps. They don't have them in stock near me until next week, but I'll most likely be having it installed then.
I've used the Spigen and I would say their cases are great, but the screen protectors are flaky. My first was the nano and it cracked around the home screen. The replacement cracked after I dropped it. I replaced that with the Slim.tr which peeled up around all the edges. My wife's Slim.tr also had peeling issues. They've since stopped making the slim.tr and have refunded my money. I'll be looking into Ghost or something else.
Also, spigen support is hit and miss. Sometimes you get a response next day, other times I've sent 3 follow up emails over the course of a month before they responded.
Had one of those cheapo glare reducing screen protectors. Got tired of degraded display. I've got nothing on it now. Looks amazing. Anyone else using the S3 this way??? Thoughts???

I HATE screen protectors. I used my HTC evo, and shared with my 3 and 4 yr olds for 2.5 years and only used a screen protector for 1 month. I ended up after those 2.5 yrs with only a couple very very minor scratches.
Decided to keep rolling naked cause if I'm paying so damn much for this phone I want it to feel like it should.
I am going naked too.
Insurance is a wonderful idea.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Glare-reducing screem protectors tend to do that, whereas a regular clear one will not. If you put a screen protector on very well you cannot tell its there without looking for the edges and cutouts and I find the only difference is sometimes they attract fingerprints a bit more... but that tradeoff is well worth it when 3 years later you can pull off the protector and have a literally like new screen.
I used to worry incessantly about scratches or dings. Then the cases started getting larger and larger and I'd have a phone that was twice as thick as the day I unboxed it. I've since gone "naked" on my SIII and it's holding up beautifully. The screen is clear and unblemished and it's nice to have a phone that will slip into any pocket without catching or bulging. :good:

I used it for a little bit this way. Loved the feel. But I noticed some people complaining about the fingerprints were showing more and more and some glide was lost. The problems appears to be that the oleophobic coating wore down. Decided to go back to utilizing a screen protector...about the same time lifeproof released the nuud and fre for the s3. Decided to go with the fre. I have tried multiple screen protectors before: zagg, spigen, even cheapos, and none can match the feel for the real thing. They come close bu just don't cut it.

I agree with skinomi being on top, still have a skinomi on my original droid razr maxx for almost 2 years and you cant barely tell its on there.
I bought a skinomi and I think it sucks. When I think screen protector I think of something hard that can not be scratched. These "tech skins" are some kind of soft gel. I actually gouged it with my fingernail while swiping.
I use the xtremeguard. Feels rubbery and not as durable as I expected. I scratched it intentionally using my fingernails and it failed me.

using skinomi.. it is a soft type material but protects well.. and the items it comes with just makes it easy to install. if you gauge it with any small scratches or even your fingernail.. dont worry about it, it heals itself back.
Here's a follow up on the verizon anti glare 3 pack. I'm still on my first one. It's got quite a few tiny marks but not visible when display is on.
Once in a while my defender or Trident cyclops cases will make the edge bubble ever so slightly but no dust has accumulated and upon removal of cases with built in screen protectors it goes away.

I haven't seen any of those for the Ultra series yet. I have a Skinomi, and have had it on the phone for 5 months now - it's just fine. Occasionally the case will start to peel the edge a bit but it's always easy to get it to adhere back down. In fact, I haven't seen that happen in weeks.
So yesterday I removed my anti glare screen protector (verizon 3 pack) because it was due for a change. The screen was so hard to see, very shiny and reflective, but it did look slightly clearer.
But I became weary and installed another one. Lol.
Anyone have clear full body armor?
