Clock widget problem solved. - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I had widget locker installed and got tired of it. Removed it and my clock widget is now functional again. Alarms, timers and all. This could be our problem if everyone with the clock problem has widget locker. Hope this helps.

No Widget Locker here. Glad you resolved your problem. The disappearing clock app issue remains for me and many others.

Mysteriously enough, yesterday the Clock app reappeared in the app drawer and the clock widget started functioning again on my DINC2!
I had updated and installed a few apps yesterday which may have triggered a fix perhaps?
Updated the CNN app
Added GateGuru
Added Priority Pass
Don't know if this is now resolved permanently, something tells me it will only be temporary, but thought I would report this.

The clock app is freezing itself. If you download titanium backup, the free version will do, you can unfreeze it.

But only if you are rooted, correct? I am not rooted so this will not work.

Thanks for the tip on the titanium solution. You are a lifesaver.

HTC Clock

I have had this issue before but cannot remember how I fixed it. I also have searched the forums and cannot find the post that said how to fix it. My HTC Clock does not show the weather like it should. When I tap it, it load the desk clock. Any help would be appreciated.
In Accounts and Sync, do you have Weather set to sync?

Yes

The top as you noticed takes you to the desk clock.
Tap on the lower part of the clock where the weather is. That takes you to the weather.
Mine does not. It takes me to the desk clock.

Anyone else have any idea why my weather widget is not working on my HTC clock? The clock works fine just no weather animations on it.
In case anyone wants to know. I fixed this issue by deleting and re-adding my city.

[Fix] Alarm Issue in some gb roms

My alarm app randomly stopped working earlier. Found fix for the alarm issue that worked at least on my rooted phone. Went into titanium backup (free version), found the app "[ALARMS] clock..." and pressed it. I selected defrost and voila, the clock app was back in the app drawer, for now at least. Don't know why the app froze itself.

You had me excited until I realized this solution requires root... I'm still alarm-less.

Uh no.
Clock App is missing. That means the widget doesn't work as it once did. No app, nothing for the widget to call.
Look at ALL the other posts around the forums from people with same issue.
Even the phone has the clock app grayed out in the all apps list and is listed as 0 bytes. HTC has acknowledged the problem. So it is a biggie indeed. Glad it works for you however, but mine and many others do not.

No need for the attitude, I was unaware it was this type of issue, I thought it was just the app not showing up in the app drawer. Are you not rooted?

Attitude was only in response to your shrugging off my problem as user error. I've been banging my head against the wall with this issue for the last week. Even more infuriating is that I took the time to do a factory reset and that was not a permanent solution.
Anyway, no I am not rootedand I'm not going that direction either as I am a corporate user and need to keep the phone stock.

Well all I can do is laugh then. I didn't take your clock away, I didn't tell you to do a factory reset. Like I said, I mistook it as a different situation. My clock app doesn't show up in GB either, but the app still worked, so actually I was trying to help and you be a ****. So Cheers!

The clock app goes away completely for most. Widget doesn't respond and no app in the drawer. If you go into applications in settings it is grayed out. If you had an alarm set before the app disappearing, it goes off as scheduled repeatedly with no way to access the app to change it.
However using my method stated in op fixes this issue for me at least. It does require root though.

See I just thought it was the literal clock widget missing from the app drawer, but the clock still worked.. cos that's what happened to me in GB, the clock works fine alarms and all but no app in app drawer, only way to access it is by clicking the clock on the home screen weather widget.
did you by chance delete the htclockscreen.apk? this has been known in the past to not be able to turn off the alarm. but I could be way off.

No, just running a rooted version of the stock rom with some bloat removed. The problem with the alarm clock is present in the official ota Rom though. For some reason, the clock app freezes itself and I just unfroze it.

Clock doesnt correct/wrong?

im using the Virtuous Unite rom and for some reason my clock has just stopped updating so i tried to reboot but that didnt work, so i also tried a reboot taking the battery out for 30 seconds but that didnt work either so now i have an out of date time on my phone...
also i cannot go to the app store or use a few apps that require the clock to be right.
does anyone have any ideas?
Is this the default clock in the notification bar, or a widget on your home screen?

[Request] Full Screen Clock with Auto Start

Hi all,
After I've done wireless charging I'm trying to find an app which gonna start full screen clock (e.g. Desk Clock) when charging is started, some kind of app which gonna start another when charging is started. Any ideas 4 that? I'm using stock rom.
Try an app called AutomateIt found free from the play store
I think it's what you might be looking for

Also "no led" app can show clock like you want, maybe using both you can do something
So I installed AutomateIt & Desk Clock and then found auto start when charging in Desk Clock, so... problem solved

Slow clock on lock screen?

I'm having a problem with the lock screen clock updating really slow. It takes at least 2-3 seconds everytime I turn of my phone to look at the time. The small clock on top next to the battery works fine though.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

This has been driving me crazy ever since I got the phone, I've tried to just forget about it. Hopefully someone knows about this and has some way to fix it, whether its a different clock widget or a setting somewhere.
Its a problem with all the widgets I'm finding. They take longer to load up during start up.

I really hope someone comes up with a way to fix it because this is annoying..
