Anyone remember tazz from the Eris forums? Well he said he would consider deving for us. If we can get enough people interested in donating we could get him an inc2. If not its all good. Just a idea.
EDIT: tazz has agreed to dev of we can get enough interest and a phone. Right now it looks like it will be around $250-300 unless we can find a bad esn on. I'm hoping we have 25 ex Eris users who are willing to donate. Tazz said he has to learn the phone first but should be able to do it. I'm thinking a month or so from now we can achieve the goal of a new phone.
Those of you that dont think it is worth it, just look at all of his old roms for the Eris. His work speaks volumes of his ability and his # of people that use his roms shows how much he cares.
I will update this thread as people pm me with how much they are willing to donate. I won't give out names. Just how much. Once we have hit about $250 we will start to collect. Remember the xda honor system

It's a good idea, it's just that's a lot of money for people to come up with for one dev... if it were for a group of devs that would be different.
personally I think the ROMs will come, root was just achieved.. Hopefully some good china ROMs will come lol. it's what I'm on.

i remember having an HTC Ozone and dude they were saying there was no chance in hell that thing would be rooted. 3 months later..ROOT HAD BEEN ESTABLISHED and that was way back day.
so be patient man, its gonna happen.

Nope. Was just happy. As you said, you had the device for a while and it had a loophole. I hope you can root the inc2 as well. But we can guess this will be harder. That's why I was telling the others to be patient. Isn't it better if you are not pestered by people looking for ETAs?

Totally agree. However, at this point, I think the faith should be in someone over at HTC leaking the exploit.
If HTC knows of an exploit they would patch it, not leak it.

I think it is user preference at this point. If root is extremely important to you and you don't want to deal with the uncertainty of it ever happening, or in a timely manner, then maybe the Thunderbolt is for you. I am in love with this device's battery life. So I'm just going to wait it out and hope something comes along that'll help us get perm root and CM7 on this bad boy.

The incredible 2 is a pretty nice phone and rooted would be great.
We just need to have faith and a little bit of patience.
These guys know what they're doing. and are pretty good at it.
Ok. So i have been away from the form for a couple of weeks (family emergency) and I noticed that some of the dev's are packing up and going to different forums JoelZ9614, ihtfp69. What did I miss?
I'm kinda wondering that too tbh
devs should just ignore the crap and keep doing what they do.
Stuff like this makes me want to stay with CM even more. CM is my first love for custom ROMs and my favorite so far due to it's speed and features and open source model. Since they packed up quietly it just would make you speculate.
I like looking at the front page of Inc development to see what's new. We'll still be seeing new ROM on xda, just from fewer devs.

So I had to switch back to gingerbread after a week or so of running the ics leak. The deal breaker for me was battery life. I absolutely loved being on ics and consider it vastly superior, but, even swapping out batteries (I have 2) it was still too much work. And then theres the failness of showing someone how awesome ics is and then WTF IS KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE... lol. It was a good daily driver but I like when my phone lasts more than 6 hours. I cant wait for a stable ROM to be released! And I congratulate all the devs on your hard work. Guys if it werent for you I would be so much less of a nerd, and for that I salute you.

OP I get kernel panic upload mode at least 3x a day. I'm on fb21 mijjz v1.1 and feel your pain. Howvere battery life has been excellent for me.

Heck no i love my s2 and especially since the s3 isnt that big of a upgrade we could run their ported software soon

I mean I don't know what to say to the fact that it's painfully obviously that you read no further than the first line of the OP..
It's great to see a community coming together, but at the same time people donated the first time WH got the S2.
What happened to that phone?
And now people are donating for another one!.!
Also what about Roman, didn't he get donations for a S2?
Thank god the price for a S2 has dropped a lot. Lol.

Regardless I've never HAD to pay for any Rom I've flashed. Should there be a limit for how many phones are donated to any dev? Developers provide a free service in their free time.... for all us addicted flashaholics.
