Hey Guys,
as the browser modded by ykk_five give me troubles all the time when not load a page complete, I tried to mod it by myself..

I havent testet it a lot, so please give me feedback if there are any Lags on it.. For me the Browser works very good till now!
If you like it and everything is fine press THANKS Button!

same here = browser works correct?
EDIT: www.tvn24.pl is working with this browser but this is a very big page with many pictures and so on, i think its normal that it takes a moment till its loaded but when its loaded complete, it's fine..
test it on not deodexed 'pure jvq'
it is flying while its loading it is flying loaded ...
yes browser is laggy, it works like pre worse then on pre jvq

cant understand your comment, at any rate it works better than the deodexed stock browser from jvq and for me it works better than the one from ykk_five and that is what i wanted to do..
The odexed stock browser from jvq will work a little better because of using the hardware acceleration which is disabled in my mod.. But if you like things like extended power menu it is a good deal to use this browser with deodexed rom
what i mean is that it is not the speed of jvq that would be the goal of fix but rather a workaround of the problem =)
still for me it seemed to work a bit better then ykk_five pice

Yes you are right, its not the final "fix" but till this "fix" is out, its a good option.. Afaik the problem is the baksmali and smali.jar that have to be fixed, to make the browser work like it should in deodexed roms...

Took a long time to boot after flash. Working fine now. Will report if anything comes up.
Any idea why on the old browser, rotating it fixes the lag.
And lag again. Auto rotate to the rescue.

Long boot time is because of deleting cache.. System has to generate the cache files new and thats why first boot takes longer.
So far looks stable than the other mod browser the only problem i find is there is no user agent.

Thank you very much sphinx02. The only problem on jvq was the browser, but now with your fixed browser jvq is the best firmware ever

Update 5/10:Back in business
/Doc
I will update this 1st post with the current ROM i use as my daily.
So it will change from time to time.
Anyway, the goal is to have a very slim, clean, stable and fast rom.
The current rom is based on I9000TDOJJ1
Features:
Rooted with su and busybox
Deodexed I9000XWJM9 by me
Zipaligned and optimized
Removed:
Full version: nothing
Slim: all bloat gone
How to install:
1:
Install the correct base rom with odin
2:
Install this update with rom manager or install from recovery (press volym up, home and power)
(download link in post 2)
To get full speed you can install mincan's kernel, or some other lagfixes.
Its not needed tho as this rom is very fast and lagfree anyway.
Thanks to Modaco, Samdroid, cacheinjection, brut, Case_et al. AND Richthofen for the supply of very nice roms

"Leap in the dark"
Based on RSJP5
Specs:
- root, busybox
- deodex, zipalign apk
- Removed all samsung bloatware
- gps.conf modified for better GPS fix in Italy (you can modify it with root explorer or via PC changing at first line "it" to "north-america" as default or choose your specific country)
- Added: geniewidget, typoclock, deskclock (Nexus alarm), carHomeGoogle (Car Kit), Music in /system/app
- Kernel SpeedMod K10g at 256Hz
- Theme with Sense 3D icon and circle battery version C gradient
- Default Android Keyboard (Samsung also) ** - "screenshot 4"
- Disabled InCall increasing volume
- Update some apps in /system/app (Maps, etc)
- AOSP Lockscreen
- Launcher AOSP Froyo
- Removed Touchwiz
- Added in data/app:
1) quickboot (because we haven't Extended Menu yet)
2) facebook
3) Twitter
4) APN Italiani
5) Adobe reader
6) GPS Status
Other mods...maybe
---------------- How to install it -------------------
1) If you have a lagfix, disable it
2) wipe data/cache/dalvik
3) install zip from sdcard (from ClockWorkMod recovery)
3a) if something wrong happen (because kernels < K9 are a little incompatible with K9) i advice to you to install JM8 or JM9 (rom eclair) with pit512 and re-partition flagged in Odin, then flash official JP5 with pit803 without re-partition always from Odin. At this point, flash SpeedMod > or equal to K9 you prefer (as long as K9) from Odin as PDA. So, wipe data and cache, and proceed as described at point 3)...
4) adviced (but not needed) wipe cache/dalvik only, absolutely not wipe data!*
5) reboot
* Why you can't make a wipe of data at point 4): because this rom includes apps in data/app!!!
-----------------------------------
** HOW TO SET ANDROID KEYBOARD
Install LatinIMEGoogle.apk (it is in data/app). Go to Settings > Locale And Text > Check Android Keyboard. Go to type anywhere and press on the screen and choose Input Method > Android Keyboard or select it from Samsung Keyboard pressing on settings button. You can delete LatinIMEGoogle.apk in data/app because it will be now in system/app.

hi all,
NOTICE: 20110713 2213HKT
for rom makers:
PLEASE, add a warning or such to let ppl know this is NOT a bugs-free version, and problems may occur. thank you
for users:
as to use this fix:
- u need a deodexed rom
- be sure your /system is mounted as rw (read/write) but no ro (read only) mode
-BACKUP /system/app/Browser.apk (and Browser.odex if any)
-remove /system/app/Browser.apk (and Browser.odex if any)
-copy the new modified Browser.apk to /system/app/ with adb or root explorer and the like (PS just COPY, NO NEED to install the apk!!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i'm too frustrated with samsung's stock browser since JP6, and the deodexed one from JVQ is totally rubbish. it's sooooo lag that i've to wait for 2 seconds after each scroll
so, after studying some great posts here, i've modded a deodexed JVQ browser with all the lag things disappeared. now it just perform like what used to be, u can scroll from the top to the bottom of the page in xda with 1 single scroll. HOWEVER, i cannot say it's 100% bugs-free
so, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISKS!! and remember to do BACKUP!
installation (for deodexed rom):
simply remove the existing Browser.apk from /system/app, and put this one there
PS you may notice some strange thing when u start this modded browser for the 1st time like a blank page is shown or cant scroll the page. just reload the page or restart the browser will do
NOTICE to all users:
- this is a one-off mod and it is not supposed to have any further modifications/adjustments
NOTICE to modders/developers:
- if u want to keep this alive or help to maintain this mod, etc, feel free to ask for the trick here
EDIT: forgot to say thank you to those who discussed about this matter here, those who contributed, and the one who deodexed the browser.apk with user agent settings by Eric
EDIT2: oh.. one more thing..... only english is included in the file named "Browser-JVQ-mod.apk, others will be available soon
EDIT3: file named "Browser-JVQ-mod-from-stock-version-all-lang-no-user-agent-setting.apk" does not include user agent settings but included all lang as in the stock version

Also, will this apk file work for JVP?

Yeah... I just discovered that too. It does work with a small workaround. After you open the browser, close it and reopen it. It seems to always work for me the second time its opened. Very strange.
As i am sure some guys will figure out why XXJVS (2.3.5) breaks wifi in some cases.
In mine it did not actually, but the fixes for the phone.apk floating around here gave me the idea to wrap up a CWM package with the Wifi files from XXJVR.
For the people that did have issues with Wifi it seems to stay stable now.
So if you are on XXJVS (Odexed or Deodexed) try to flash the package and see if it helps you. I also included a restore CWM file to go back "fully stock" in case it breaks Wifi.
Test the wifi with WifiFix.zip
Restore with WifiFixJVS.zip
Just let me know if it worked or not.
Doesn´t work for me. My SGS still loosing WIFI for just a few seconds.
Same here...
Do you guys also use the JVS modem ?
And what type of encryption do you use ?
Yes I´m on JVS modem. I use WPA2-PSK encryption.
The strange thing is that my encryption is also wpa/wpa2 psk @ 54 mbit
But i did encounter in the past some connection issues with a older wifi-router.
This router had wifi-n draft support.
The moment i replaced it with a Cisco E2000 router no problems anymore. But like i said i did not have any issues with JVS to begin with. But when i released my Tornado ROM i heard of some wifi issues that were fixed with this fix.
STILL THE SAME PROB
Thanx for effort bro but no luck
okay by the way y Tornado is of only 93 MB how come ? so less
as stock comes around 200+ MB ?

We like to strip the ROM to the barebone.
And if you want stock apps back then just use the addon app to install them back or even remove them again
The ROM has (on JVR) proven to be stable and quick. Our Tornado-users seem to be liking this concept.

Wifi Fix
Hello all
I am posting here my wifi fix!
What is diffrent from brotuck?
Well JVS = android 2.3.5
Stock android 2.3.5 (what i am running now) is using
bcm4330_aps.bin
bcm4330_mfg.bin
bcm4330_sta.bin
JVS uses
bcm4329_aps.bin
bcm4329_mfg.bin
bcm4329_sta.bin
When I use my clear mind it uses outdated wifi files so I pulled the AOSP ones renamed theme to 4329 and packed it with brotuck's fix
Maybe it works I am not sure!

Another good port for ajay. I have brick my phone so i cannot test this.Maybe by day or two i will go to samsung center to ask for repair. can you port cm9 of galaxy mini to our device.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is MIUI exactly ? Another custom build of Android, just like Cyagenmod is ? What are its fundamental differences compared to Cyanogemond ?
edit : wikipedia's description provided me with part of the answer, but on what basis should i choose your cyanogenmod our our miui ports ?

Thank you. For my needs, stability is more important than the UI. According to the description of both of your ROMs, the Cyanogemnod port seems to have less bugs. Can you confirm that ?
First of all, thank you for this great effort
Could you provide us with a step by step guide for flashing this please?
last time I did something wrong with ODIN and I cost me dearly!

Flashing:
1.Flash a Gingerbread rom (not if you already had)
2.go in to recovery (phone power +t)
3.Format data/cache (delete all user data)
4.Flash Miui (or other Rom) (install zip from SD)
5.Reboot

Just flashed it!
It's EXTRAMAZANARYLOUSHNING!
Ajay, I think you must have heard it a lot, but you are great genius!
Thank you for making this rom. There are two rom 20120919.zip & 20120919-deodexed.zip, Which rom is better?

Depends, if you like modifying your rom then go for deodexed otherwise go for odexed
or you can search "the difference between deodexed and odexed" in google for better understanding (there i give you the keyword)

deodexed rom will take more space from the internal memory
since our phone have less internal memory its better to use odexed rom and also odexed will be faster
since our system memory is also less it was hard to odex it. that was why i uploaded deodexed rom.
our device is very poor

I say overclock it for about 15-20% which I think is the safest for such low frequency device, anything above it as stated will cause instability.
