Htc evo m.s.l. - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I got my M.S.L. code from sprint and my phone is not rooted. But I can go into the programming mode and edit things on there. My question is what all can I do to my phone now that I have the M.S.L. code?? Can I make my data flow faster?
Sent from my Bad Ass PC36100 using XDA Premium App

Does anybody know of anything I can possibly do after obtaining the M.S.L.

im not a flamer because i know this website can be overwhelming with all the stuff floating around but someone will say this may be better suited in the Q&A section just FYI in the future. Be careful with the info in the links... u can screw up stuff if ur not careful. Read the entire post b4 downloading or flashing anything!!!

I could have sworn I had posted this in the question and answer section. I do apologize for any inconvenience that I've have caused. But I just recently purchased the XDA app from the market and I'm barely getting use to it. But I do appreciate the info you have provided me with!!

Kind of a dumb question , but dose any one know if an epic Rom work on and indulge? The phone are almost the same, I used an epic one click to root my indulge... And info will be helpful

You should ask on the indulge forum to see if anyone tried or may know if you can do this, but my guess is no. You can try, it might hurt your phone if you do though.

I would say no because the Kernels are different. Same as the modems. Probably safe goes for /system?

I think k0nane works with it, you can always ask him where the best stuff is.
Best way to find out is trying it for yourself. Nandroid backup and give it a shot if you want a fast answer to your question. You've got nothing to lose.

Any one have root for ota

My dinc2 came with 2.3 update looking for root
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
Nope and probably wont be for a couple weeks.
Really? Not to be a **** but this has been questioned and answered a ton of times. A little searching would have yielded great results. And if there was a root method, there wouldn't be a sticky saying not to OTA.

To be blunt you are a **** I've been around long enough that I wouldn't post the question if I hadn't searched these forums as well as google search and just found more dicks saying if you had just searched but no posting a link or anything helpful just wasting time and space with replies that are not helpful nor productive such as yours

So after searching the forums and Googling, what conclusion did you come up with? I would think that after being around long enough, if you search and don't find anything about as big of a topic as root for Gingerbread, then root hasn't been achieved yet.
Also, as I answered your question, "And if there was a root method, there wouldn't be a sticky saying not to OTA."

People are forgetting that XDA is a developer forum. This isn't androidforums.com, where beginner questions belong. And they throw a hissy whenever someone treats them as such.
And before you say I'm not a developer, so why I am I here; you're right, I'm not a developer. But I also don't start threads asking obvious questions.
Good day, sir

I mean more along the lines where devs can let us know what is going on and how far they are. I think the reason there are so many threads is because slot of us have no idea what's going on with it. I am not as smart as all of are gifted devs but I would like to still know. That's just imo

I understand people replying that it has been posted not to do the ota if you want s-off, I had s off and was rocking cm7, however I dropped my phone it hit a rock and screen was no more, insurance claim done I now have my new phone and it already had 2.3.3, so this question is valid, people just want to know is there any work or progress towards getting s-off on 2.3.3 via software.

either way, if you were unlucky enough, as some of us were, to recieve inc2's with GB already, then we are screwed. temporary though it might be. Someone somewhere is no doubtedly working on a GB exploit.
Patience my good people. its works wonders.
that or go throw away money on a clip from china to perm root.
personally, i'd rather give my money to these devs here, but thats just my double dose of penny.

Improve search function

First let me just say how much I appreciate xda, because without it I would never have given android a chance. The only thing I would like to see in the xda app is the ability to narrow a search down to forums, it would help immensely when searching for info on a particular device

My apologies, I missed that you wanted that in the xda app. Not possible there, only through the website. I would suggest however that you post this request in the stickied thread in this forum named XDA Android App Problems/Bugs/Features etc

sort by thread start date?

Hi, what I'm looking for is a way to sort the development forum by thread start date, to help me identify newly-released rom's. Is there a way to do this? thanks in advance
I'm not being hateful in what I'm about to say _ You might find General XDA questions answered quicker in the General Discussion Questions and Answers Section.
Forums>By category>General discussion>Q&A
Good question and i too would like to know the answer.
: edit: After looking further, maybe better to ask in General Discussion> About XDA..
And also, think the answer is no. Could be wrong but hence "bumps" in threads..

Thanks. I can't dev but I help where I can. You can use this tool to do the same:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromo.dev80417.app176212 or just use the website. It's fun for a bit of light hearted sarcasm.

but than people wont get to ask the same repetitive question 10 posts in a row or heaven forbid they have to page surf for an answer
I've found that a lit of searching has to do with using the right keywords

Yes, but look at the general and q&a, you will see 2-3 which rom for my wife/gf threads near the top. If you are a member and can post, simply looking first would answer the question. I was a noob once too. Still not a pro by any means. I just encourage people to try first, as the forum itself asks the same. Often a search will answer a question quicker than asking and waiting for replies.

If that was directed at me, am I to assume sarcasm is lost? Because if you can't find it, I would direct you to the first post in this thread. It's right there.
Also, if you check the threads I referred to, I did give my opinion. That was my point. I and several people had answered the question already, more than once, yet people still insist on starting another thread.
