Changing the keyboard layout

Hi everyone!
Many people out there from all over the world have upgraded their Artemis to Windows Mobile 6, thanks to people who are working hard on cooking nice ROMs for us. These people are used to a specific keyboard layout, many languages are using special characters too.
It would be nice to have a way to change the keyboard layout : something like easy installing CABs or a how to on what to change in the registry, what to remove on the storage, or whatever way to have our own keyboard on theses WWE ROMs.
Is it possible?

The only thing that i have found was this regkey:

But afaik does this regkey only work for the 'hard-keyboard' and not for the software-keyboard, so this answer won't help you a lot...
On my P3300 nothing changed with these keys and nothing happend when i changed the keys in 'HKCU\Keyboard Layout' In another forum i found a thread and they are saying you need a third-party software to change the software-keyboard...but for me it's no problem to use the english keyboard...but french keyboards are much stranger (i think french keyboard are the strangest keyboards that exists) and so i can understand your problem

I agree with you, the french keyboard is strange, I wish they were only DVORAK keyboards all over the world! But I need my "é" "à" and so on... I'm sure there's a way to change the software keyboard!

As far as I know it's a dll file that you would have to change. Never tried in WM6 to replace it, in WM 2003 it wasn't possible. Resco Keyboard would be an alternative if you don't want to try to change the layout yourself.

German Keyboard for ROM2.03

Hi everyone! Ihave The taxist´s ROM 2.03 on my magician. It´s verygood, only the keyboard+ integrated in it i don´t like, because i need german signs like ä,ö,ü,ß, that are not supported. Does anybody know a soft keyboard (Freeware if possible) with a german layout? Need it badly!

Thanks a lot Mister B, the keyboard is working fine.

The keyboard (KbdDe.cab) is fine, BUT it is increadible slow on my magician (WWE 2.03 TX ROM). I've searched the forum for a solution, but most threads are about problems with XT9, i don't think I've installed that. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot...
Problem solved: After a softreset everything is ok.

there are keyboard Lithuanian but dedicated to HD2 !! just try to look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632465
I 'd suggest you'd better use VGAKEY multilingual software keyboards for Pocket PC, You can get it on http://vgakey.net/web/index.php?enfunctions

WM 6.1 UK Keyboard Layout Required...Please.

Hi Guys,
I have updated both my Units with 6.1.
US Keyboard layout is working fine. But I have a UK units. So some of the symbols are in the wrong place.
I have done some searches but only find stuff for the US English, not the UK English.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
I did try and edit the file manually, but it seems to crash the software...

HTC Touch Pro 2 Keyboard layout problem

Dear XDA-developers-forum freaks
I've got a problem regarding my keyboard.
I've bought a HTC Touch Pro 2(picture attached),
and flashed it with the Timor 9 ROM, and it works great! (Thanks Timor )
The only problem is my keyboard is not working properly.
Does anybody which layout to choose and which registry tweak to enter to solve this?
The problem is in the hardware keyboard layout.
The Timor ROM was originally written for a T-mobile Vario V.
I've looked on this forum for over 3 hours(excluding the one hour maintenance break )
but did not found a solution for this.
Is some PLEEEEEAAAASE able to help me?
Can anybody tell after seeing my layout in attached picture, which registry value to use for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime\KeyboardLayouFiles\07FF ?

CAB to change from AZERTY to QWERTY

Hello,
I have a Touch Pro 2 with a QWERTY physical keyboard and I have flashed a french ROM to sell my phone because I have upgraded to the HTC Desire.
The problem is that the ROM think my keyboard is in AZERTY.
I know there is some reg change to change it to QWERTY but I want to know if there is a CAB that can do this.

If You cannot find it, I would propose to convert from .reg to .cab. There are programs out there who can do this for You, although I do not have experience with them. Sorry not even a name, cannot find it. Just do some searching around here.
