SetCPU, get it from the Market.
*edit* You also need a kernel that's capable of overclocking.

Just download unrEVOked 3.32 and use that
you need to use Unrevoked.
A quick search will find you all the details needed.
check this out more than you wanted but read it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189

Can I unroot it if I root it??
Sent from my HTC EVO using XDA App
Yes, search & Google are your friend
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yea..you flash the S-ON tool, then run an RUU.
OK if I ask a question in the Q&A I think should get a answer not telling me to go to Google I don't think that the question I ask

And where do i get that??
Sent from my HTC EVO using XDA App
I heard if you uninstall and reboot the phone it unroots it or no??

S-ON tool. Flash BEFORE you run the RUU.
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Supersonic/
Download the 3.70 RUU
And they will say use google, cuz it will turn up the answers.

That only happens if you use that z4root thing, which gives you a temporary root, and lost upon rebooting.

No problem man.
Hey I used the Z4root on the evo but it doesn't work
Sent from my HTC EVO using XDA App
If it didn't work, I personally can't advise you because I've never used it. I think it more beneficial to go for the solid root. Unrooting for whatever reason is easy to do.
OK if I root my phone with with unrEVOked and Its update come out will I have to unroot my phone or can i just update it like regular and it will just unroot the phone??
Sent from my HTC EVO using XDA App
If you root your phone with unrevoked, you'll be fine. You don't have to re-run it when a new version of unrevoked comes out. If there is an update for your rom, you just flash it in recovery.

Please help!

Ok so I need help rooting my branded HTC desire running 2.2
I'm not a fan of the gold card method and I have been trying unrEVOked to no avail.
I have uninstalled HTC sense and any program that may interfere with my HTC when in boot loader.
My phone will lose communication with my computer when trying to ready hboot.
I'm at my wits end. HELP
Thanks

Don't have the link but you need hboot drivers. I thought you could find the on unrevoked site.

Those are the drivers you need
Not letting me post hyperlinks so just copy paste into browser.
you need to turn usb debugging on and ensure u run the program as administrator
1. Before you do anything, uninstall htc-sync from your pc but do not uninstall the driver.
2. Install the H-boot driver from unrevoked site. (run the installation as administrator)
3. Enable usb debugging mode on your Desire.
4. Connect the Desire to your PC.
5. Run unrevoked and wait untill finish.
6. After rooting is done, you can have your HTC-Sync back if you want it.

If there is no icon you need to flash the Gapps.
There's no apps affiliated will google whatsoever. I flahed the cyanogen mod 7 successfully.
Could you please explain what gapps are and where I can find them and how to install thanks in advance

ok my evo was h boot 2.18 whent throughr process got to what i put above now cany install drivers when i go to check them but dont see them i get android 1.0 but has a ? try to update but cant.please someone help
If you downgraded or rooted before, shouldn't the drivers still be installed? That might be why you can't install again.
I downgraded from 2.3.5 to 2.2 like it said on captn throwbacks guide so when i try to install drivers to unrevoked3 i cant find them theres android 1.0 but cant updaye them

Soap is right. Installing HTC-Sync installs the drivers you need, uninstalling removes the program, but leaves the drivers intact, then you want to use Unrevoked Forever to root.
Success im rooted s-off thank u death-by-soap for helping with all the back and forth pms much appreciated:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
