when you rename keep the "./" in front of the rename do not delete.
example: ./rename.jpg
this works for me.

I try that and i get error as well. any way to change the folder chomp saves mms files to?
I was looking but I dont think you can change the location for chomp it defaults to a folder named "downloads" in the sd card that is where all my saved chomp mms go to.
I would make sure you dont have folders also named "downloads" on the root of the sd card if so....I would moved all files...etc....delete the folder and let chomp make and rename the folder again in the sd card from the start.
hope that works.

How do you make the photos and Music settings to always look at the SD card path? right now photos are blank and I have to pic folders and go to the SD folders manually.
thanks!
This has been a topic discussed several times. It has to do with the chome.dll file stored in the /windows directory. For some reason it only maps to the /my documents/my pictures and the storage card/pictures folders (called storage card/DCIM). So the only work around, although a poor one, is to create a folder in the main root of your storage called "pictures" ( and not "my pictures") . Then place your pics there and they will show up on the sliding panel on your home screen. You will also be able to acces them from there. The only thing this will not do is send all of the pics you've taken from your camera to that directory. It will still put them in /storage card/my pictures (assuming you are using your storage card for puting your photos to) so you will still have to manually move those pics to the /storage card/pictures directory when you finish taking the pics.
Wow it's amazing what one can stumble upon when they are not looking. I had the same problem just never really searched out the issue. I tried what you suggested and works like a charm! Thanks pudgedaddy!
You can also create a folder called "DCIM" and it will detect the pictures on there as well.

Hey Guys..
I have a problem with my HTC TP2.. it's got troubles saving my photo's to the Memory Card..
After i flashed my phone the IMAGXXXX counter has reset itself to 0
When i make a photo that would be then named IMAG0001 it overwrites the other IMAG0001 i made before i flashed my ROM..
Does somebody know how to preset the counter so that it doesn't overwrite all of my photo's?
Thanks!!
What I do as a work-around is to have the date&time as the filename prefix. Unfortunately, for some reason, HTC doesn't allow you to do this by default.
You have to use the Advanced Config tool and do the following:
1. Set the camera to save files to "My Pictures" rather than "DCIM"
2. Set the default path for images to "sd card\my documents\my pictures"
After a soft reset, go into your camera app's settings. You should now be able to adjust the "prefix" setting.
and after that.. will my pictures be saved to my SDcard again?

Yes, as long as your camera app settings point to "storage card" as the save location, your pics will be saved in your "my documents/my pictures" folder in your SD card.

I emailed myself a cab file that I would like to install on my device. I have Outlook configured to storage attachment on my storage card. I find an inbox.mst folder on my storage card, but every file has a .att attachment. I found the file that it must be, because of date and size, and copied to another folder and then renamed it. Once i launched it, it was the .cab that I wanted. But is there a better way to save email attachments?

When you open an e-mail you should see the attachment listed, just as you would on a desktop Outlook (even though you've set it to be stored in the bundle on the storage card). If it hasn't actually been downloaded from the server yet (because of how "attachment-size" restriction has been set) you'll need to have it do that first. Then do a long press on the name of the attachment and a little dialog-window should pop up/open with "save as" as an option. Select it.
Hey, is there any way of preventing pics/videos in a certain folder showing up in the gallery?

Just put a .nomedia file in the folder where you have the pics and videos you want to hide.
You might already have this file in your sdcard (some ebook reader or other app that has pics not show in the gallery).
If not, just create an empty text file and rename it.

Doesnt work for me... Stil shows the folder.
It definitely works. Either your media files didn't update yet or you don't have a correct nomedia file...

Can confirm. This does work. Try restarting phone.
Tried it with a .nomedia file already but it didn't work. Gonna see if it needs to update though.
Rename the folder to .folder, the whole folder becomes in invisible.
Your other option is to install estrongs security thingy, which allows you lock down apps totally

I found the best way is to create a zip file and store them in that as it cannot see through a zip file. Has always worked for me, hope that helps

Can someone just rename this thread to 'how hide porn and pics of the bird your cheating with'
By the way. The ext partition is a good place to put 'sensitive' material. Gallery wont look there and it wont show up when plugged into a windows PC.
Ok so I thought I had read that creating a "nomedia" folder on the sd card would keep the gallery from showing its contents? I tried that but everything still shows up, got any hints?
If you have a file explorer...I use Astro...you have to name the folder (and I do the files also) specifically so that Android will ignore them.
... MyPics ----> .MyPics
The dot is what hides it from Android and from people that want to 'see ur phone'. Unfortunately I told this trick to my GF already...:^(
LOL.
Use QuickPic instead of gallery.
Its faster, and you can specify folders, even password protect your "private" ones.
