well today i was replacing my digitizer all went fine, but when started to remove the screen it seperated from the black glass and now stopped working. When switched on the screen just stays black with coloured outlines of where it hasnt seperated.
Bought a new lcd + digitizer from ebay should be coming by tuesday hopefully.

Hi,
I have a HTC Desire Z, one day I pulled it out of my pocket and the screen was black with white lines. After reading that it was most likely a faulty LCD, I purchased a replacement from ebay. I installed it following the instructions in this video
watch?v=C0LJnqTlBVQ
After installing it the screen remains black. I can hear the start up music playing but the screen is black, no white lines like before. I even tried reinstalling the original lcd and the same thing, no white lines. Also after starting the phone up the front seems very warm.
Could my replacement lcd also be faulty or does the problem lie elsewhere?
Thanks in Advance
Ok, I took it apart again just to double check the lcd ribbon. It was on good, however I took it off and put it on again and now the screen works!
However the brightness is set to the lowest and even if I change it to the high setting it remains the same. Also the automatic change doesn't work either. Any Ideas?
Hi guys, cracked my note 2 glass last week and decided to replace JUST the glass myself. This included me warming up the screen with a hair dryer and replacing the glass. All went well, was VERY careful only to find out when I turn the phone on the screen is either blank OR white, and you can faintly see the boot logo. This alternates randomly when im prodding the motherboard. Does this mean there is a dodgy connection? Can I fix this, or have I completely melted the amoled when heating?
Forgot to add: Phone turns on fine, boot sound is there, capacative buttons light up. Even touch screen works (I can answer phone calls)
Thanks guys
Hey guys,
I have an S3 that was dropped and now the screen remains black but the notification light still turns on and it still rings/vibrates when it gets a call or message. I was told it was a digitizer issue and hence ordered a replacement but now I'm reading that it may be the LCD? The glass portion is completely fine, not a crack or any sign of breakage to be found it's just that the screen remains black.

If the glass on the outside of it is undamaged, then it likely is just the digitizer. Try putting on the replacement digitizer and see where that gets you.
Hello XDA,
I dropped my phone a while ago and the outer screen got cracked, nothing happened to the screen it self, so i kept using my phone for a month or so before i found a place to replace the outer frame only, the screen used to work perfectly, after i changed the frame, i had touch problems, so i decided to change the whole screen, after changing the screen i had a dead strip, the touch is not responding in that area, here is a screen shot, Could it be a problem with the new screen/digitizer or connection problem? Please direct me.
Dear valued XDA members
Greetings...
My Xiaomi Note 5 screen broke a year ago; I just woke up and found out:
- The screen is flickering
- Ghost touching
- Colored lines appeared
- Eventually everything went into black
Today I decided to repair it... A brand new original screen; so I went to the repair center and the guy changed my screen infront of my eyes.
When I got back to home, ghost touching happened again in a crazy way, I can't use the phone at all, moreover after reboot the screen became black, I can hear sound only.
I am not sure what is causing this, since the screen is new, and the software is fine.
Anybody has a clue what is this?????
I added photos of the broken screen, and a video after it was replaced.
Thanks in advance
Bad cable, connector, or pins not properly seated.
Loose ground. Failed mobo.
Try a hard reboot if you haven't already. Take it back to the tech, they may have a better plan.
