Thanks djallen1 Upload Megaupload
Steps:
1.Just went to download mode by turning off the Tab. Then holding Vol-Down and then Power until the Downloading Target screen came up.
2. Opened Odin3, selected PDA and chose the Quens_P100_EF17_Rooted_PDA.tar file. No other settings needed to changed.
3. Click Start and the progress meter should fly and ultimately say PASS! when done. After reboot it takes a short while for the OS to load so be patient!

uh, I don't see how that's rooted, and I don't see any explanation as to how...

ScreenCapture is upload

Ok, so post the rom or root technique?

Oh, ok, it looks like you're uploading now.
Sorry, language barrier. I'm trying to read your site through google translate.

Please instruct how to download. It's all in Chinese...

I've uploaded it to Megaupload.....link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JG64JFNM
Loading it right now, will have a progress report shortly. Much thanks to zhangqip for getting this up before bedtime, I bet he's had a rough day.....

Downloading now
Translated its the "Telecommunications..." link. If you hover over that, the status bar of the browser will show you the name of the ROM. I hope this is in english and I hope that it truly is rooted. I did the OTA update, rebooted and it didn't install it. Perhaps because I am currently rooted. IDK

Ladies and genteleman, we have rooted 2.3.4. In English

Running smoothly....

meh, why not, I'll give it a whirl

Maybe a noob ??, but can this be flashed via the samsung recovery (renaming it to update.zip) if I already have stock 2.3.4 running, or do I need to odin back , install CWR, and flash via that?
Thanks!

Confirmed working on my Sprint GB tab
Had manual update of GB running stock, used Odin (in the download) to install (just select the TAR in the PDA and make sure that "Re-Partition is NOT checked, then reboot, hold volume down and power get to triangle download screen and click START in Odin)
Didnt wipe any of my data.

I flashed it with Odin, no pit, no repartition, smooth as silk.

Sweet thanks!

That's weird. Baseband still says eb28 (that's what I was running before the flash). Yes I know its just text in a file. Another thing I've never seen before is even though its an Odin flash, all the previous stuff from my eb28 install is still there. I was running rooted with wpa and hosts file. Is this real? Should I have went back to 24 and allowed updates to gb then flashed? Strange indeed

Went straight from rooted Froyo EB28 to this rooted Gingerbread with this update. Didn't even need to format the SD card. Easy-peasy!

Big thanks! You made my morning!!!

Do i need a program on my phone to change the theme or is it just to download and have fun? Don't rly wanna risk my phone without being 100% sure.

Let me guess, blond....flash a custom rom or kernel with 2e recovery.
Why only themes?..make your phone blasting fast, girl
He he! not blond but blue eyes!
I have allrdy rooted my phone and (why is it so hard to remember) "Voodoo-stable-5.1-Froyo-2.2.1-GT-I9000-odin-pda"
"GT-I9000_P-SBL_RCVDL_FIX_ODIN"
and something more... But it took me like one hour to understand how to do it because the 3 but thingy didn't work on my galaxy because of the update!
Then you have Cwm 2e recovery..so, it simple than. Get "quick boot" application (must have) from the market.
Now you can reboot in 2e recovery and take a theme from anyone on this forum.
Nice one "Jumba NeonGT" very sexy and fits to you blue eyes..
Put the file intern sd and run it in Cwm...
Omg!!!! Cwn? Now i rly feel stupid. What program is that? Hahaha!
let me know which rom and kernel are you running and I can help....the only thing with all this custom stuff is there is NO 100% safe bets....if you want 100% stay with stock rom and use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900738 theme which is can be used on stock rom (jpy only). Also you need to be rooted (which will void your warrnty) and be running 2e recovery to flash this theme. So let me know the detials and I can then advise / guide you. But again there is nothing 100% safe in xda forums.

Is it a program thats missing? Tried but that whiped out mu games and my music.
download rommanager(attached) from market and flash the first option, should be something like flashing clockworkmod recovery, from there you have to flash it and it should give the option to boot in cwm, from there you can select the appropriate .zip for writing roms, kernels, themes and apps in places you normally couldn't.
Ahhaaa... So I have to do it from off-line mode if you say like that! Ohh thank you thank you thank you!
As it stands in the beginning. I'm a noob! I still havn't figured this out. I had to wipe out my phone 5 times this weekend!
I must be doing something rly wrong because when I follow the instructions and restart my phone it becomes a wanna be dildo that's vibrating like hell...
I have checked that it's .JPU and I'm packing it up from "off-line mode". Why can't I be as good as you ppl?

PDA: I9000XXJPU
PHONE: same as up
CSC: Same as up
Built info: 2010.12

After that it stands: I9000XXJPU
After that: 2.6.32.9

after that: FROYO.XXJPU
And now I feel like a blond bimbo who don't know what 1+1 is after all this 0000XXXX1334.443 numbers! ^^

The simplest & most error free method would be to first grab a STOCK 2.1 ROM. If you don't have Odin, check my signature for Odin3 1.7, Download that too.
Open Odin, select ONLY the pit file, that would be 512. select re-partition, put you phone in download mode, connect it via usb, & click on start. Once its flashed, usually no more than 8-10 seconds, Remove the battery BEFORE the phone starts. In Odin, select the PDA, Phone & CSC from your 2.1 ROM, don't use pit now, DON't select re-partition, put your phone in download mode again, connect via usb & flash.
Allow your phone to start. Once you are here, tell me & I will continue.

Thank you. As I said. When i get home and yes... I mentioned rom. Stupid phone who put in the wrong words.
Ok... So I fixed the "CODE" in PDA
"MODEM" in phone and
"CSC" in CSC...
It's downloading now so when you read this it should be done!
Is it downloaded? What files do you have now?

what does this mean?

can anyone tell me why my htc desire is stuck at this screen when i put in the battery?
-- 1 minute later --
well, i can't post a pic since not allowed to link until after 8 posts
it looks like a boot screen with 3 android dudes on the bottom.
any ideas?
Your stuck at the bootloader. Means that there is no boot.img. You've done something to it. Just flash a rom and it'll be fine. Don't forget to wipe data.
ok, thats positive news so far
the things is, i think its water damage but not much water at all really. just a bit from snowing while skiing.
the power and volume buttons do not seem to respond AND the ohone turns on by itself when i insert the battery.
is it still just a case of 'flash a ROM'? or is there more?
oh, and here is the image..... finally,

You don't have root or a custom recovery, correct? You just want to go back to the stock Froyo?
I think if the power buttons don't work it may be a bit of a problem selecting options in that menu, since the power button works as "select" in that menu.
I think you could boot to recovery using command prompt, but I am not 100% sure about that.
Also, are you rooted? Do you have a custom recovery installed?

Do you have a note of which rom was installed in your device? Is it carrier locked? Branded?
Select the newest RUU that fits your phone & carrier from http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/. Extract the ROM, rename to PB99IMG.zip, place in root dir of sd-card and reboot. Should do everything else automatically.
don't really follow the whole ROM question?
my phone has android v2.2, is NOT branded, is NOT locked and NO rooting.
and i should add that i am sweden if that matters.
The file you download from shipped roms is an exe file. When you execute the file it will extract a couple of files to your harddrive. Among those is a file named ROM.zip. That's the one you're looking for.
When I extracted it the file was here C:\Users\*User Name*\AppData\Local\Temp\{722DC7D5-7B69-4EBC-B6FB-B63AE38C01DE}\{50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}
The ROM on shipped ROMs are all the standard carriers version that are unmodified.

Yeah but there are different versions of 2.2 depending on carriers etc, thats why I was asking!
I *think* any of the ROMS here with RUU at the beginning & WWE in the filename should work. (I am not 100% sure about this, as I have not had an official rom installed for AGES).
You will then have to follow sonoftobit's instructions I think, don't ask me how to extract the ROM though, as I don't know how to do it!
PS sonoftobit - Ignore this liquidmonkey!
If you go to the CM7 nightly thread and go to the 2nd post, Kali has a script for enabling Apps2SD. That is what I am running, tried to use S2E but it screwed things up royally and I had to restore a Nandroid!
Yeah, I had the same problems with S2E. I'm using DarkTremor App2SD now which has worked flawlessly ever since (both Sense Froyo and CM7). Also there's A2SDGUI for DarkTremor now which makes it even better.

why on earth would you write that?
so check it out!!!
i have had the phone off for a few more days and then put in the battery and BANG, it started up after a little while.
problem was that my battery only lasted 10 seconds so i was not able to fully test things.
then i put the battery in again and i was back where i started, crappy boot screen.
is there something in the phone that keeps memory of the boot screen and then disapates after a day which would explain why it started today.... or?

2.3.4 No HDMI output

Hello guys, I'm in need of help here.
I had 2.3.3 rooted and working fine, all recommended bloatware + some I removed on my own, and the phone worked like a charm, and the HDMI output worked too.
Now I have 2.3.4 (rooted via .181 flash + OTA). Removed all of the recommended bloatware, + some new which came with the 2.3.4 update...
.. and it seems that my HDMI output doesn't work. Just wanted to play some Tekken 3 on ePSE + sixaxis controller, plugged it in, and both my TV, my monitor, and my second monitor show either "Check Signal Cable" or "Power Saving Mode"..
I tried reinstalling every single bloatware app I removed, and it still doesn't help. Is there something I did wrong? Or maybe there is some 3rd party app for HDMI out?
Help please!
After almost giving up, finally solved my problem.
By some magical way, neither SEMCHdmiControlService or SEMChdmiEnabler were present in my backup folder or in system/app. Had to put it from 2.3.3, and it worked !
Hooray!
I have a question!
Now, I just flashed 184(UK),installed Gingerbreak 1.2 and rooted my arc.
If I wanna have rooted 2.3.4(with unlock boot loader), I must unroot my arc by gingerbreak and do following:
Flash Generic_World(Nordic).181 and start your phone again.
-Plug in your USB-cable to the computer and phone again.
-Make sure USB-debugging is activated in the settings menu.
-Install Gingerbreak 1.2 and press "Root the phone".
-The phone reboots by itself in about 20 seconds after pressing Root.
-After reboot and a long wait, go to settings and install OTA.
-Phone collects firmware OTA and reboots many times.
-Now Its working and you have rooted 2.3.4
It is right?

[Q] Samsung Apps Problem

Hello guys,
This is my problem: When I open Samsung Apps at my phone, it gives to loading screen and after that it crashes, it just goes back to the home screen.
I think this is because I updated Samung Apps at a 3G network, but the connection was lost, so it didn't finish the update...
I just dit a factory reset, but it still crashes...
And when I open Kies, it says there is an update for Samsung Apps. But when I click on `update` it says that the latest version is already installed.
Is there a way to reset samsung apps? To remove and re install it?
Much thanks, Thijmen.
Im having same problem. I recently updated my phone's firmware to Bada 2.0. Straight away i tried to go to Samsung apps, but it shouted it needed to be updates. Well, update it is... My phone anyway jammed during the installation of update. Well, i rebooted it, but afterwards samsung apps doesn't open up on my mobile. It just opens the Samsung apps splash screen and goes back to menu or desktop, where ever i try to open it up.
Things i've tried to resolve this problem:
1. Factory reset, did nothing
2. Hard reset, didn't help
3. Tried to remove folder Samsung Apps from mobile with TK file explorer and stune, didn't work out. Not sure if it was right directory tho. Was something like AppEx\SamsungApps
Is there a way to re-install Samsung apps app?
Any help will be appreciated
You must flash the ShpApp.app of your firmware with multiloader. Write *#1234# to know your firmware version, then download the firmware and use multiloader to flash lite the Shpapp only.
Thanks Aurex for your response. It's very informative.
ok, so im going to do this thing.... I am downloading the firmware, but im not fully sure which one i should grab...
PDA Bada CSC Country/Carrier
S8500XXLD2 2.0 S8500OXBLC1 Sweden
S8500XXLD2 2.0 S8500OXBLC1 Nordic countries
S8500XXLD2 2.0 S8500OXBLC1 Sweden
There's 3 firmwares with exact same sw/csc details. None of those say it's suitable for Finnish version though. Can i still use those for this purpose?
Is there some guide to flash this thing only or do i have to fiqure it out myself?
And does this small flashing lose my personal data?
You can use what you want of this 3 firmware, no problem Open multiloader and don't select full firmware and bootfiles and select only SHPAPP. Take your ShpApp and click on Port Search and Download. No data lose.
But...have you ever flash before?
To be honest, i haven't never even seen a multiloader I've always flashed my firmware the legal ways (kies). But it can't be that hard, can it?
Does it matter what version of multiloader i use?
Here Multiloader 5.67
First of all you must go in download mode, so, press at the same time:
1. Volume Down Button
2. End Call Button
3. Lock Button
This is the download mode:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Connect your wave on pc with usb.
Then open Multiloader and select LSI and click on SHPAPP. Select your ShpApp and then click on Port Search and Download:
Ok, now i got firmware and multiloader 5.65. Only thing i need to do on the app is insert ShpApp.app to it's place?
EDIT: you answered me faster than i could post... So im trying to follow your instructions, but i port search ain't working. It just goes grey for couple seconds and comes back, nothing happens. Can't press download button.

Ok, so: open Samsung Kies and go to "Tools" (I think ) and "errors in troubleshooting connections" (or something similar). You need drivers.
Well, i managed to handle it with another computer. Percentages started running, will see what happens...

Need help after installing Cyangenmod

Hey guys,
Love XDA, I just rooted and Flashed Cyangenmod 10.2 on my Virgin Mobile Galaxy S2 and am having a few issues and have no idea how to fix them.
1. Phone calls seem to work through the network just fine but data does not. this means no mobile internet etc do i need to download a virgin mobile software pack or something?
2. Camera is funky in a few ways, crashes on load most times. Colors are way off. Again is there a software solution?
Any helps is appreciated

Hey Bilgerry,
Thanks for the response I installed the FL24 modem just fine here's the link should anyone need it in the future under ICS - Modems
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764210
I then installed the VM fix in the link so now I'm back on track with both MMS and (Voicemail which I hadn't even thought of yet).
However I'm still having trouble with the internet on my phone data plan I've tried 3 different browsers all fail to connect.
As for the camera, both Focal and Camera software are crashing heavily.
Try flashing this 3g fix for alternative carriers. I always use it for CM and it's universal. https://db.tt/zKeL0ffq

Dang it, no luck with that fix. I flashed it twice and got no response either time from my data source. If this is the only fix, whats the usual procedure with a flashed phone do you just have to wait until someone gets a fix out there?

Check the md5sum of your ROM zip compared to the one on the download page, if they don't match you have a bad download. I'm thinking this is probably your problem.
So I looked up md5sum but am not sure what it is or how to check it, can you elaborate? Is there a programme I need? You mentioned I may have a bad download so is that an issue with the link that was posted or is there a way to fix the md5sum so that I can download it from that link and get a working copy.
Bare with me I'm a noob.
Download md5sum Checker from the Play Store, it's how you tell if the file you downloaded is the same as the one the dev uploaded. If your md5sum doesn't match you'll need to redownload until it does. That it's why it's recommended you download onto a PC.
The first files I downloaded were all onto a PC first then onto the Galaxy S2. I've attached a screenshot of the md5 checker just to make sure I'm using it right. When I get home tonight I'll try download a batch of the files and see if I can get 1 to hit. I also tried downloading the file from another source and install but no luck.

You've got the first part right, now the dev or download site should provide an md5 to compare that to, the one in the pic below is an example, it's the download page to my ROM. Notice the md5 in the middle? That is what you're comparing your file to.
