I decided to try a new evo 3d rom port dubbed incdoes3d v.1.0 knowing that mms would not work for it.. It was a very fast rom loved it but.. no mms so I went back to a clean install factory reset of synergy rom rc1 and now mms will not work for that either tried kingdom 3d also still will not work...
I was thinking to go back to stock and wiping my sd then re-flashing synergy because i know it worked at one point for me..
I thought the bug with those roms was no MMS over wifi? Have you tried it over 3g?
Yes I have as of now I'm on my my stock nand and the phone I'm testing txt on still isn't getting a simple hey lol its pissing me off

You may have to completely wipe and RUU to stock (not just restore your stock nand).
Unrooted and rooted it back to kingdom rewind 3D helped.. big mess let me tell ya..

Do you restore sms/mms using Titanium? I am using the Rewind 3D RS2 rom and MMS was working great until I decided to restore my old sms/mms messages using Titanium. After doing that, it got all screwed up again. I too was on IncDoes and loved that rom, but couldn't get mms to work either, so I tried out the Rewind. Was just as happy with that one as I was with IncDoes.
So was MMS just not working, period? Not able to send or receive at all? I'm asking because ever since going to the gingersense roms no one has been able to view video messages from me. I can send the message, they receive it, but can't open the video. The only gingersense rom I've found that will work is the Kingdom Stock Gingersense 3.0. The only difference I can see is that it's using a different camera. I would stick with that rom, but the fps is so low that the video is not even worth using. Have gone back to SR 4.2 in the meantime.
Any ideas?

I cannot send text messages anymore with cm 6.1.2, it keeps saying it's "sending." I flashed this rom three days ago and it was perfect until tonight!

Should be in the Q&A section. Not in development. Do a clean wipe and load a sense based rom. Refresh your profiles and reboot. Then try sending your text message using HTC's messaging app. If everything works, then do a clean wipe and go back to 6.1.2. and try texting again.

Your not alone. I put this rom on my girlfriends EVO 2 or 3 nights ago and she just started complaining of the same thing about an hour ago. My first step was to reboot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, but the problem continued. Did a full wipe/flash again and still, same problem. Very odd! Also worth mentioning, market and many other apps are now FC continuously. I will be putting a HTC rom back on until CM7 is finalizes I suppose. Sad too, I finally convinced her to go with AOSP : /

I love the rom though... It's really smooth and quick.
usually happens in AOSP ROMs when you are sending a larg (161+ characters). For some reason it is unable to break up the SMS. It's the only reason keeping me from flashing CM again.
ComputerJunkie, Which Rom are you using then? I love VaelPak, but CM 6.1.2 is so smooth and so fast! I guess I'll flash my Vael Pak mod that I backed up with CLockswork Mod. I tried to clear data from the applications settings, but still doesn't work.

The only problem I'm having with it is some SMS are getting put in a weird order (timestamp issues). Minor annoyance but I can deal with that since the rest of the ROM is very smooth and stable. I used to use launcher pro for my launcher but this sense version is so smooth and looks so good i can't go to launcher pro
ive heard people fixing the problem with handcentsms since it will break the msgs up into sections

same here with the sms and im on myn too..takes forever to get a text reply. idk if its the rom or sprint towers cos my friend with stock EVO has the same problem..

My texts are coming in just fine so it might be a network problem for you. I just had a problem with timestamps which, after a full wipe and fresh flash, seems to have fixed the issue (so far).

That's true, I just hate using 3rd party apps since the one included is already good enough. I'm not looking for a ton of options. The more options, the more things can go wrong. I just want a good, solid, stable SMS/MMS client which the stock app does well.

Go to the settings in the messaging app and turn off the notification. Also, uncheck auto-retrieve.
Yea when you almost get to page two, just stop typing, send the text and resume.

I'm running Myn's and I'm having no problems sending anything. It may be a phone/sprint tower issue
Hey guys (and girls?), I got my EVO 4G and clearly loving it running froyo. I am thinking on going to gingerbread but I'd like to know if apps get affected by that. Does it depends on the app or is it generally the same?

Some apps are not yet compatible with Gingerbread. I haven't had any issues yet, though.
i've never noticed any issues. just make sure you backup apps with titanium backup, NOT SYSTEM DATA, and wipe when you flash over. may i reccomend cm7?
Ran into my first non GB compliant app the other night. I use the Xfinity TV app (Comcast Cable) and when I am on MikGinger it doesn't work. It automatically closes itself as soon as it starts too load. Then I saw some reviews and people said it didn't work on GB at this time.

Titanium's latest update makes it broken on gingerbread, but okay on 2.2.
They'll fix it soon, but until then, find a prior build and use it.
I'm running the 2.3.3 gingerbread leak on my Evo, have been for about a week now(since TMartin put it out on XDA) and so far all my apps still work. My Xfinity TV app works fine. I actually just set a recording using it a few minutes ago. But I have discovered that the front camera no longer works in yahoo messenger video chat. However I'm not sure if this is gingerbread related or not. I posted a thread about it in the general section to see if anyone else if having the same issue.

Really? Thats weird.The Xfinity Mobile app works fine, can set recording etc off that. But my Xfinity TV app, the one that changes channels, will close immediately after signing in.

Broken in what manner? My TB works great with the gingerbread rom I'm using (Salvage-Mod 1.21).

I have found that Orblive doesn't work. It doesn't even show up in the market.
The only problem I had when I switched to GB from froyo was TB wouldn't restore my txts but other then that I had no issues

im currently running the latest acs syndicate rom on the ec05 modem. when i try to text a large message, the receiver of the message receives a bunch of gibberish. my friend is running the same version and the same thing happens to him. i wiped x3 and im running the erebos theme. is anyone else having these problems?
I recommend you post this on the roms actual fourm. I'm on syndicate frozen and I'm experiencing tones of problem.I'm just to lazy to fix them so I do temporary fixes like since messaging app fcs I use go sms.

Any FC's are the result of one of the following:
1. Bad flash (Keep 3x wiping and flashing until success, this is mostly CWM's doing)
2. Data Corruption (You haven't enabled journaling, and had a crash/battery pull)
3. Bad Data Restore (MyBackup/Titanium imported bad data, try clean installing)
If freezing is occurring, look for Genocide or Vision kernel. I am running the latest ACS on two Epics concurrently, and the only replicable problem is with the web browser freezing, which should be fixed in the next release. The only variable in your situation that I can't speak for is the Erebos theme, although I shouldn't suspect problems with that.

I second this, as its usually the only way that a real problem will get a true solution.
Is there a Gingerbread rom that is MetroPcs mms ready? That is the only feature (mms) i can't get to work on these gingerbread roms. I got Dinc. thx.
try the all in one from the eris section If i am not wrong the hero eris and inc are all almost the same phone you can try that look for the metroff 1.2 and it should work.
I use cricket, and was in the same boat as you, I tried a few gb roms and was able to do everything but mms.
I now can do mms. look at the stock texting app's mms outgoing file size, on all the ones i have used it was 300k. I now use either handcent or gosmspro, both compress the pictures to a manageable file size that can be messaged out

I am looking for a ROM for my EVO 4G that has:
1, JellyBean and Sense 4.0,
2. Sprint VVM working,
3. Facebook profile picture sync to contact's picture (I think this is a sense feature hence why I want sense, honestly I prefer the look of CM10),
4. as much stable and working as possible, especially flash, don't much care about WiMAX and FFC.
I am currently on AlienMOD Solar Flare Series V, which I like for the most part. However, I can not get Sprint VVM to work, it sends me texts about voicemail but I don't want to call voicemail as it uses minutes and I don't always get the texts. Additionally I can't seem to get my contact's picture to sync with Facebook.
Honestly if I could disable the text VM notifications, get Sprint VVM to work, and figure out how to get the contact's pics to since with facebook, I would be happy as is. But I have searched and searched and I can not find a solution that works.
Any help with either of these would be awesome.
Well if that is all you need my suggestion is get a new phone. There will not be any jb sense roms for this phone. Sense for the og stopped with gingerbread.

Anything after Gingerbread will never have EVERYTHING working. If you want to flash ICS of JB you have to make compromises.
For Facebook contact pictures, I remember an app called Photo Unlocker but it was removed from the Play Store. I haven't had any luck locating it.
Honestly if I could just get VVM working on this rom and remove the text notifactions for VM I would be happy. I can work around the facebook issue.
Haxsync works good for Facebook sync. Or if you want free use free Facebook contact sync.

By swap do you mean like an a2sd or something similar? Or as on a RAM swap partition?
There are a few miui issues. Stock mms will error if more than 160 characters are sent. You also have to change resolution of front camera. When first opened you get green picture. I think that is it.

Honestly I think TNN is becoming my goto ROM dev team.
That is dependant on the kernel. Lionfish will work with this ROM and give you the swap feature. It is what I run on all my AOSP roms. Just be sure your sd-ext is not an ext4 file system. 2 and 3 will work but the the lionfish kernel does not support 4.
