Does anyone know how to back up just your kernel?thanks
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
For what reason? Just keep the flashable .zip of the kernel around so when you change kernels you can change back after if you want.
I don't have the original .zip

Everytime I try to flash a theme. Any theme, it says:
Opening zip
Updating zip
Can't install (whatever the zip name)
(Bad)
Installation Aborted.
Now I'm doing everything right when flashing but yet I don't know what's wrong. Any help will be appreciated.

I have cyanogen 6.1.1 and I'm trying to flash iNexus Theme and Bliss 2.0 but neither works.

Are you downloading the themes directly from your phone or from a computer?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
found my noob mistake, i was trying to flash a new theme on top of them i already have. flashing my latest backup into a stock rom AND THEN flashing the theme worked. hope this helps.
Downloading them from the phone. Does that matter?

How do I flash boot animation zip I go to recovery and flash but then says install aborted I'm using clockwork on evo
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
99% of the bootanimations are not flashable. You will need to move it in a certain folder depending in what base rom you are on. Which rom are you currently running.

Cm7 do I move it using my computer?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
You will need to use adb for using your computer, or a root file explorer using your phone. You will need to put the zip file in your /system/media folder and make sure it is named exactly "bootanimation.zip" for it to work. If you can't get it let me know and I will try and walk you thru it.

How do you flash the Rom with the file push and when you have to push it but steps

Why the kernels are so hard to flash?
I have tried everything and still cannot flash....
Why the developers doesn't make a flashable zip for flash the kernel on Cwm?
?
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
I can't say for sure so its just a theory but I think it has to do with the device not being s off.
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
your phone must s off.you can use your phone flash boot.img. Otherwise don't want disorderly think, don't say why developers do not flash kernel mod.

I tried with the all in one software, but it reboots my phone every time I tried to flash kernel.. and I have tried with cmd...it doesn't do anything

You need to first install proper HTC driver for your device.
Download HTC Sync Manager from this link..
http://www.htc.com/in/help/htc-one-v/#download
Install it and then try to flash a kernel through Fastboot.
Hope that helped.
