Here is something which I did out of interest. I am not trying to replicate the perfectly able (and the BEST) CM7. Its just that i tried to make this as our theme. Works on both CODEROM versions.
What all I have added:
1. The CyanogenMod default theme (Orange) leaving the dropdown.
2. 'Calculator.apk' the dark one which looks a lot better than our normal calculator.
3. 'DeskClock.apk' the default clock widget of cyanogenmod. Better clock looks on lock screen and more alarm options.
3. (Optional) Bootanimation of CM7 as I liked it a lot.
How to apply theme:
1. Download the attached zip.
2. Copy to root of SD card.
3. Get into recovery.
4. Apply update and select this zip.
5. Reboot.
THEMES:
1. Download and update "CYANOGENMODdefault.zip" if you want the CM7 bootanimation.
2. Download and update "CYANOGENMOD(noboot).zip" if you dont want CM7 bootanimation but the theme.
NOTE: I havent changed the dropdown of the quickpanel. It is same as before but i have done a modification which you can see in the screenshots attached.

If you are running on KPH then do one thing. Go to /system/media/bootanimation.zip copy that. Use your root explorer to search the other bootanimation.zip and then replace that by this. Then your CM7 bootanimation will work. The thing is that bootanimation of coderom is saved in /system/media but i dont remember where its saved in KPH. Thanks

Whoa! Nice work you've done here, dude!
Been looking for a theme like this for like months!
Great job!
how can i get back my codenexusace boot animation
In "MY FILES" menu, when I tap the "MORE" button i can't see names of commands such as "COPY", "PASTE" and more. Only after I tap one of them and hold, the text becomes visible. I guess it is a bug and shoud be removed. I am using codenexus.
I've installed your theme last night and I love the way it looks.
But I have a lil problem here; my notification bar is now missing. :-(
I've tried to change the setting of LauncherPro to make it visible but nothing happens.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Many thanks before
Nice theme, but one problem:
When use the browser and then select "settings", i hardly can see the options because the font-colour is so dark. Pls fix that
no much different thought.. only status bar icon and animation.

What do you mean my friend? i didnt understand . and as per others, i am trying to fix that menu problem. Will soon fix it. Tried some methods but it isnt working.
I think that he mean that this theme doesn't really change anything instead of bootanimation and status bar icons. But please tell me is there any way to change the bottom dock style manually? Not by installing Launcherpro or sth like that. I don't like the standard android style (three icons) and I prefer touchwiz. When I install themes it never changes.

Hey sorry about not responding to that earlier. I found out what the problem was. The thing is that the update binary in the zip has some functions which work only on CWmod recovery. So if you are using your normal recovery, you will lose your status bar. After that you have to either repair it by applying some other theme or reflash your ROM.

Hi guys,
another day, another tip!
Today I will explain how to change your system fonts at will, but as download and set them free.
You will say that our phone has this function ... But it is not true, or rather, this function has to pay.
To avoid spending money unnecessarily, I will explain where to download millions of characters and how to apply them in a few clicks!
Let's start!
What we need:
- Samsung Galaxy S i9000
- Phone rooted with STAND ALONE PROCEDURE (all credits to Leshak);
- IMPORTANT, BUSYBOX from Market;
- Gscript from Market (all credits of this app goes to PinkVenture, if you like it, buy a full version);
- My tips
What will do:
- Download any font you like from THIS SITE (all credit goes to this site) or any site that lets you download free fonts;
- Create a folder called Fonts in you internal sdcard:
/sdcard/Fonts
Click to collapse
- Rename the downloaded font in 2 files called(2 files with differents names, same main file):
DroidSans.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
Click to collapse
- Copy those file in /sdcard/Fonts;
- Start Gscript, leave it to take Superuser acces, then press on:
Menu --> Add script --> Load file
Click to collapse
and close it;
- a new folder called gscript was created;
- Download my zip file contenets all of 3 scripts that we need:
BackupSystemFonts - backup all your system fonts from /system/fonts to /sdcard/Fonts/bak
ChangeSystemFonts - change the system fonts
RestoreBakSystemFonts - restore the backed up system fonts from /sdcard/Fonts/bak to /system/fonts
Click to collapse
- Copy all 3 scripts in the gscript folder on internal sdcard:
/sdcard/gscript
Click to collapse
- Start Gscript and then press:
Menu --> Add script --> Load file
Click to collapse
select the script that you want and check Need SU? then save;
- A new script is added!
- Press on the script you want and it start!
- Well done, the new font is applied!!
Archive password: socketandroid84
Needless to say that now you can choose any font you want and apply it without any problem with only 2 clicks quickly and safely!
I hope that the trick will be useful!
Update 06/08/2010 - LOOP SCREEN RESOLVED
- Before apply the scripts install BUSYBOX from MARKET; there is a bug in the old version of busybox installed by the update.zip for root our phone. It's install an old version of busybox that doesn't use the "cp" command.
So, when you go to remove and copy the new fonts though the script, it's remove the old ones but doesn't copy the new ones. You can resolve this bug simply install the last version of BUSYBOX from market!

Bravo!
I was wondering how to apply new fonts that I want besides those
from manufacturer. Thanks a lot
Thanks. First time I tried changing fonts (not using this method) I ended up reflashing the whole thing because it got stuck on the i9000 welcome screen so be carefull dealing with fonts (yeah sounds weird I know) ^_^
I thought we can change font:
Menu->Settings->Sound and Display->Font Style
I am still trying to figure out how to add more fonts.
Thanks for the easy method.
My results:
is it possible to change the font size too? because some of the 3rd party fonts look really nice, but a bit too small when applied.

Are there any prerequisities for the fonts? Because I tried one and the phone got stuck in bootscreen, so I was forced to make a reflash of FW.
I found out that I have fonts with 2 different icons (all files are .ttf), one icon has TT and the other one has O on it (see attached screenshot).

EDIT: working like a charm, thanks
this is awesome!
Crap, I did the same thing - Gets stuck while booting...
Might want to give a clearer warning in the first post about the need for a true, ttf. I'm apparently way too anxious to get things going than reading all posts
ok, how do i reset? because i got stuck while booting after doing this smh....
heck same here end up stuck at boot screen. is this really due to the font i want to switch? how do i know it's a real ttf font?
Every FONTS in this site work very well:
FONTS
If you want to reset, reflash or press the power button for 10 sec i think... search in the wiki!
For me, it worked once with 2.1, then, after flashing another 2.1 firmware it got stuck while booting.
With 2.2 it doesn't seem to work...
Stuck at loading screen too, only option is to flash ?? or is there any other option ?
Kind of lost how to reset the phone.
Is the only way to do it by pressing Volume down and turning it on?
Not in the mood to lose all my Data. :-/
Adding Ext Power as well as % Battery Mod is very easy thanks to Jim Panses super Arbeit
Many thanks also to Dena and whiskeybro for their Theme as well as vukandric for the Gingerbread theme.
This is how I did it on Darky's Rom, but it should theoretically work for any Rom based on JPU.
Possibly the Rom needs to be deodexed what most custom roms are anyway.
You will possibly lose animations but there is an easy way to get them back!
Read end of post for this!
Ok let's get started with the simple (but limited) method.
Step 1:
Download the theme from Dena, the Gingerbread Theme as well as the framework-res.apk attached to this post. Put them on your SD card.
Step 2:
Install Dena's Theme with extended Power Menu
Step 3:
Install Gingerbread Theme
Step 4:
With Root Explorer copy the framework-res.apk file out of this thread to /system/framework
Your system will most likely crash after that and reboot with the new framework-res.apk active. Then change the permissions to 644 meaning all boxes in the first column selected as well as the topmost row of the second column selected. All else unselected.
Done!
This should work for any rom, but I can't confirm it yet.
For anyone interested in making their own themes compatible with ext pwr + % battery here is the more complicated way to do this and the way I actually did it:
Step 1:
You will need Dena's Theme again as a base as well as a another theme that already has the % battery but lacks the power menu. (It work too if you don't have % battery yet, but then only for the ext Power Menu)
Step 2:
Extract the framework-res.apk of each theme.
Step 3:
copy everything from framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi of the theme you want to use into the same (sometimes also called "...\drawable-hdpi-v4") folder within the framework-res.apk of Dena's Theme.
Do not extract the framework-res-apk files. Use 7-zip to open them and do the copying!
Step 4:
Do the steps from the "simple" guide but instead of gingerbread theme you use your theme of choice and the framework-res.apk you use is the one you created.
Animations:
Many Themes use custom animations now.
The most common is the fly-in animation.
These animations might be lost with this method.
To get them back simply download the "Animations.zip" from this thread. Extract and move to /sdcard/AndroidThemes and then install with Metamorph (app can be found on market)
Here is another way provided by kenkiller
kenkiller said:

differently themed maybe, but it should still work as they are all based on the same framework-res.apk (that of JPU)
Animations are gone, but I have a good idea how to fix this
Animations are what puts Darkyy's ROM apart. Apart from his very good themed colors & graphics.

Thx for the info
Giving it a 5-star. Helpful.
it's pretty easy to regain the animations if u prefer the original.
Just extract the anim folder inside darkky's framework-res.apk with 7zip, and then overwrite the same folder and contents with the framework-res.apk you intend to copy to ur phone. But in the case of animations, it's needed to clear dalvik cache in CWM.
This actually does work on most custom roms, as long as they are deodexed.. Great work though..
Is it also possible to only add ext menu and keep glass window lock screen? I like the instant sms reader

This is just a mini theme version, anything related to litening battery will not work due to different framework.apk file which will affect the rom to cause it to freeze or infinite boot loop.

First of all, credits should go to nims11 for this. I pm him and asking how to do that, it worked so I thought to write an extensive tutorial about this. Of course I am not held responsible if something goes wrong, read carefully instructions though it's quite simple, don't mind long explanation, is meant for new users too.
STATUS BAR TRANSPARENCY - WHAT YOU NEED!!!
1. This was tested on CM7.2 on both deodexed and odexed version. Also will work on ICS2. Probably will work on CM7.1 too but haven't tried this. Don't ask me if this will work on other modded versions of CM7.2, I don't know, and I am not willing to try.
2. You need a theme that supports transparency in status bar like Meizu, LunarUI, MIUI, Naked Simplicity, Orion and much more. Theme list can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167075
3. You need ADW Launcher along with theme to make this work. Remember to uncheck wallpaper hack in system preferences.
4. You need Root Explorer or similar app to be able to do have root access.
5. Before proceed with the method, backup SystemUI.apk from system/app (deodexed version) or both SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex (odexed version). A simple copy/paste to your sd card will also do the job.
PROCEDURE FOR HAVING TRANSPARENCY IN STATUS BAR
DEODEXED VERSION
1. Download this file http://www.uploadking.com/V7YWUIJ3UO and transfer to your SD Card (any directory)
2. Use Root Explorer and COPY file
3. Go to system/app --> Press the Mount R/W button on top of screen --> Now Paste. A message pops up to confirm that you want to overwrite file. Press Yes.
4. You will then get a message that systemui stopped responding. DON'T WORRY. Hold power button till phone reboots
5. When it reboots you won't have status bar. DON'T WORRY, IT'S MEANT TO BE LIKE THIS.
6. Use again Root Explorer, go to system/app, press again the Mount R/W button --> then find file SystemUI.apk --> Long press it till a menu pops up --> Click Permissions, it should be as this http://imageshack.us/f/843/screenshot1323167924787.png/ So permissions under file should be as rw-r-r
7. Reboot phone --> YOU'RE DONE.
ODEXED VERSION
The procedure is exactly the same as deodexed version BUT BEFORE DOING THIS YOU NEED TO DELETE SystemUI.odex from system/app using Root Explorer and having pressed the Mount R/W button in order to do so.
So when you're done and lets say you are using MIUI Theme it should look like this http://imageshack.us/f/856/screenshot1323169878975.png/. Different theme will have different icons or different transparency level, transparency is really theme dependant!
DON'T PANIC
1. If it doesn't work then probably you did something wrong
2. Remember that you have backed up original files so you're safe
ALTERNATIVE METHOD VIA CWM (as nims11 suggested) - ODEXED VERSION ONLY!!!

Also, a tip as a small contribution for people who don't like adw launcher like me. If you want to have a transparent status bar while using a different launcher then you need to download multi picture live wallpaper from the market. Use multipicture live wallpaper and transparent theme.
----------With This mod, you will have:
1. G3 style notification panel,
2. white (Kitkat style) icons in status bar,
3. lollipop style navigation bar!
I've made this mod on myself, but the idea was for antonio.talamo(thank you)
----------Requirements:
1. Optimus G 4.1.2 - 4.4.2 stock Rom (may work on stock based custom roms)
2. Root access & nothing more.
3. MUST work on both odexed & deodexed roms...
Nothing is going to be wrong BUT ALWAYS HAVING A BACKUP(copy of original system ui.apk) is absolutely necessary!
------------Instrutions:
Flash the appropriate flashable zip through recovery or:
1. You must have a file manager for editing LGSystemUI.apk, X-PLORE file manager is always highly recommended:
2. Download the appropriate zip from attachments, open the customization folder, open res, open drawable-xhdpi & select all those pics & copy(replace) them with the original files in LGSystemUI.apk in the same folder & directory.
3. Replace your new LGSystemUI.apk with the original one in system/app(4.1.2) or system/priv-app(4.4.2)
4. You MUST always restart your phone to get the right result! Force closes before restarting are usual! You've replaced a running app, right? Hold power button 10 secs if force closes are too fast.
-------------------Done! Enjoy!
It WILL work on jellybean(tested) & kitkat(tested)!
I've tried to fix all the issues that have been reported, so it must be perfect now!
I haven't test the kitkat mod by myself, so If there are any bugs in kitkat, please report it!
Flashable zips are here! But please test them & report the result, they must work!
------------------editing apk files with X-plore file manager:
hold on an apk file & select "open APK as ZIP" & then you can modify APKs easily
-----------Enabling the Navigation Bar(recommended):
First I must say there's an app doing the job perfectly named gravity box!(also it has expanded mode to hide navbar to use default camera app, but I rather using these two methods which WORKS PERFECTLY ON JELLYBEAN(tested), BUT ON KITKAT, MIGHT CAUSE BOOTLOOP!NOT TESTED, while I say it won't cause!do it on your own responsibility!, but the gravity box method works good):
1. If you want to enable navbar in Optimus G or any other devices, Download build.prop editor (android app) & after making backup with the app, insert qemu.hw.mainkeys & set its value 0. RESTART
2. Or you can go with x-plore to system/ (& backup build.prop somewhere), then open it & copy qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to end of the texts.insert an empty line before it so that it works. RESTART
3. for disabling the navbar, simply restore the build.prop backup or delete that line.
----------how this mod works?
this mod will replace only some pictures in systemui, so every time you want the original notification, you can restore your original SystemUI.
If you don't like a change, easily delete its picture from mod folder & copy pics again to the original copy of LGSystemUI.apk.
!! remember to have the original LGSystemUI.apk file somewhere safe !!
Some good Tricks:
If you want to hide the Qslide, try geemod, which is an Xposed module & can hide whatever you want in notification panel & some other tweaks.
If you want to have changeable status bar & navbar colors same as action bar(flat style like my screenshot, you can use FlatStyleColoredBars! Even on 4.1 like myself. All the credits goes to ibocharov, that's a great module & worthy to buy the pro if you like!
BUT IT'S ONLY FOR 4.3+! BUT NO PROBLEM, install Xinstaller Xposed module & disable checking sdk version & it will be installed & will work on 4.1 jellybean perfectly!
NOTE: use the 0.63 or lower versions of flatstylecoloredbars on jellybean, the newer versions cause serious force closes! If you've already faced the problem, use Xposed recovery mode:
Restart the phone, once you see boot animation, press volume down four times or more!
That's how I solved the problem on my (locked bootloader-no custom recovery) device!
The 0.63 version that I've already been using, is perfect for jellybean, I've attached it(edited, works with 4.1 without other modules )
By installing gravity box, you can enable & edit & hide(with shortcut of expanded mode) navbar when you want easily(e.g. when using default camera app or watching movies)!
If you want huge mod for stock apps on jellybean, this is the mod:

Hi! There seems to be a bug in the 4.4.2 version. I'm not able to make the notification panel background transparent, it looks black instead. Can you take a look, please? Thank you so much for this mod!

Thank you for reporting the issue,
I've Tried to fix it, reply the result.
The fix has messed up a bit the UI haha. Now the top bar seems to be lacking some kind of height/margin/padding. But no problem, mate, I can keep testing until we get the desired result [emoji6]

since I'm not on 4.4.2,
First rename one of the files of my 4.4.2 fix to status_bar_carrier_label_bg.9.png & REPLACE it with the same one in "drawable",(not drawable-xhdpi),reboot.
EDIT: I've updated the OP, try that and reply the result
Sorry, I couldn't reply sooner! I'd tried all the previous fixes without any luck (with a clean LGSystemUI.apk, clearing the caches, etc). But now, with the latest upload, it's working like a charm!! Thanks for your hard work, mate [emoji16][emoji16]
PS: The background color is no longer transparent, but doesn't matter, I like it black too!
Can you make status bar color black and no AM/PM for stock 4.4.2?

I'm not changing codes, hiding AM/PM is such a thing
But I guess I'm able to change status bar bg black.Like what I did to make 4.1 status bar transparent.
Copy the attached png to your drawable-xhdpi to make status bar bg black.

delete notification_panel_bg.9.png From mod drawable-xhdpi & then replace the mod folder with your original system ui files, (not the current edited system ui!)
Problem must be solved,
That's easy bro,
I'm making a holo green bg for notification panel, so I need this result, I'm waiting...
Edit: I've uploaded the holo green mod & if it doesn't have quicksetting black problem, the transparency should be fine, please attach the ss with enabled Qslides bar, I hope it work
Whoa... Man, you rock! Both themes are looking so nice now. Hoping the screenshots can convince more people to use them [emoji2]
Main mod:
Holo green:
PS: I really love the second one!
I'm happy that worked & you like it
There's one more thing to do. Latest try to make the full transparent mod work,
Please attach the ss with enabled qslide! This is for examination of qsilde bg! Also I want to see the notification bg is now more transparent or not(double try In one mod! I guess it won't work :-/)
Here is the screenshot, mate [emoji6]

Wait a minute! What's wrong with Qslide button?
Fixed! Updated :-/ !
Can you make the backgrounds of the clock and date, toggles, notifications and the carrier name black? Instead of g3 icons. Stock 4.4.2 E975. I hope you'll grant my request if you can. Thanks.

You're alright, seems to be something wrong with the QSlide button. After the update it is even more small:
