Just recently I have updated my Opera browser to v11.5.2, and since updating I have had a lot of trouble with it becoming unresponsive and calling for a Force Quit / Wait / Report option box to appear.
I have reported using the Report option but I dont know if it would be something Opera related or if its something to do with CM7 or even if its a clash with GoLauncherEX
Situation appeared as I said after I updated Opera to the latest version, this was done via the Market so should be a legitimate good release.
I have also updated the XDA/Quark CM7 with latest builds, presently running the 111105 nightly. None of the last few nightlies have improved the problem though.
The problem seems to appear about 20-30 seconds after opera is opened. I can be loading a web page or just sitting doing nothing when it becomes unresponsive and nothing works, no touches on the screen register until fnally the Application is unresponsive message appears.
This does not happen on any other app, and Dolphin Browser is fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? any one know of any fixes? I have cleared app data and caches already
thanks
Hi,
I used to have the same problem, and as I can see on Opera's Android Market page, a lot of ppl have it too.
I had Opera mobile on CMIUI and after latest update FC was after 10sec no matter what u do.
Yesterday, I flashed new ROM - MS2Ginger and now Opera works just fine.
So, I would say that it is just Opera's problem on CM7/MIUI.
EDIT: Nope...It's not working with MS2Ginger either :S
It is working, I mean...But sometimes lags and u have to wait for a bit to open or go through page. When I installed it 1st and set up everything, before closing Opera on EXIT button, everything worked just fine. After closing it and reopening lags started. So maybe it is EXIT button problem.
Ill just try to install previous version of Opera if I find it.
Have been running 4.0.4 for a few days and all is good except all of my widgets quit updating on several occasions. They work fine for awhile and then nothing. Have seen this with Minimalistic Text and Android Pro Widgets. Sometimes they begin working again on their own, and sometimes I reboot to fix the issue, but within a few hours they freeze up again.
Anyone else with this issue? Not currently running a launcher and its stock 4.0.4.
I noticed the other day my gmail widget wasn't updating. I removed but never did add it back. I'll add it to my screen and see what it does. I'm running stock 4.0.4 too.
I think the problem was the Android Pro Widgets. I had an older version and when I removed it MT began working again. Added the newest version and all has been good since.
bought this not even 24 hours ago. didn't mess with it too much before i updated so i can't say for sure its the update. but everything i do it seems to work for a couple minutes then FC. market included. i'll reboot and that will work for a little while and then back to FC'ing everything.
also when i go into all settings/apps/all its still showing a firmware update there.
should i revert back to 3.2 and see if anything is jacked up or what?
sounds like a weird bug. try "resetting android" in recovery. I don't remember by heart but I think you may need to re-install archos aos you can download here http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates_fwm.html?country=us&lang=en

thanks shano. same thing this morning. my daughter was playing with it and watching videos for about an hour and then BOOM, FC for everything.
i think im gonna roll back to honeycomb and give that a whirl for a while.
Try installing a task killer or using the built in task killer. Sounds like your running low on memory. Try uninstalling any apps that start at boot too.

I get this all the time too, really annoying...

ok guys i reverted back to 3.2 last night and started fresh. we'll see how things go this weekend
looks like that may have fixed it. had it on all day and no FC'ing.
ICS might have jacked up when i did it over wifi due to when the tab went to sleep it killed the wifi. i had to start it up like 3 times!
i am using now 4.0.6 test 2 firmware it seems more stable but browser still hangs some times and
divice becomes unresponsive. so im using nemus launcher (free from Google play) and stopped default launcher. its much faster especially when i stopp all using system task manager
and by the way i have no gps , wifi , hdmi problems at all but apss still cant use my sdcard :-( .

If the tablet hangs try changing the CPU governor to performance using Set CPU or something similar as this fixed all my hangs . Hotplug seems to cause hangs quite a lot.

Has anyome else recieved a stability update on the 8.4?
yes for the US SM-T320 8.4 but I'm getting random reboots. it was fine on the earlier version, never had any random reboots. I tried to factory reset after the update but still the same. it seems to do a soft random reboot when you are doing something on the tablet and you leave it idle for a few seconds. It never rebooted while I'm actively using it even if the load is high..

Mine says device modified, I am rooted - any workaround?
I'm currently uploading the new ND3 DeOdex ROM base now. (Tab Pro 8.4 Wi-Fi)
I will also upload the bootloader firmware (Odin flashable) too.
I managed to capture a logcat but I can't seem to identify the cause of reboots, can anyone assist with that pls...

TabPro 8.4 random restarts
Hello guys
So, it appears i am not alone then.
The school i work in as an IT tech, has purchased us 2 TabPro 8.4 tablets and the one i have has given me hell so far with these random reboots.
It has the latest update and is also rooted. It has nothing to do with the root i believe as it did it before and also after applying the latest OTA update. I have now factory reset it and noticed a slight difference in the home screen where i now have 2 pages (1 home screen of course) wheres, as far as i remember, when i first turned it on it only had 1. I may be wrong though.
I didn't sign in to any accounts yet (google, samsung dropbox etc.) and left it with Google chrome and Samsung own browser open. I suppose only time will tell now. It's really bloody frustrating though because i spent hours loading all my apps again and restoring app data via Helium etc.
Another thing i noticed is that even i after wiping the tablet via recovery (Wipe device/factory reset option) it actually kept root.
New device, issues gone
Got my replacement unit from John Lewis today (i must say their service is the best i have seen) and spent hours on the device rooting it and installing all the apps i had on my other unit.
I have not encountered one single reboot so far , whereas my previous unit restarted on me pretty much 30 minutes after i first turned it on.
My advice to you is if you are having stability issues and random restarts with your TabPro 8.4, send it back for a replacement.
I installed the update also and haven't had any issues or random reboots either. The screen sensitivity fixes are great. Huge difference.
I spoke too soon it seems. It did restart on me. Twice. Once whilst caching images on quickpic app and second time installing Samsung's own office suite of applications.

What is this? Stability or Instability update? Sammy, why?
anyone who doesn't suffer from Random reboots, are you rooted?
also those who suffer from reboots, are you all rooted?
My the Theory: I think this reboots are related to being rooted or have knox void.
Mine restarted before root but after I installed the OTA update. I since rooted it but it didn't change a thing obviously. God knows how many times it reboots a day. I leave it in airplane mode with a few apps running and after a couple of hours I notice that the apps that ran on the background are not there anymore so I figured out it restarted. is there anyway to uninstall the OTA update???

Stability update
Since reverting back to old version (and rooting the device again) i have suffered 0 random reboots. Looks like the latest update screws something up.

I have two 8.4's and they both boot when I wake them up. They are rooted with Xposed, but I uninstalled Xposed and tried one without it and it still boots at random. So IMO Xposed/root isn't causing the trouble.
See my other post... wonder if that'll fix this. I'd almost rather have the reboots over the screen sensitivity problem, but either way, the tabs aren't really usable.
Rich
I have used my tab pro 8.4 now for 5 days running on the old firmware rooted and with xposed running, without a single glitch. I'd strongly advise people to avoid updating the tablets to the latest ND3 firmware.

I purchased a tab pro 8.4 a few weeks ago and was noticing random reboots several times an hour. A couple of days later I got the update and didn't see any change in reboot behavior. Couldn't link it to anything at all as it happened before as well as after rooting and adding Xposed.
Changed to Average Joe's debloated (elsewhere in the forums) and have had zero random reboots since. Also running several exposed modules without any problems. Purely anecdotal, but it appears to have increased the overall responsiveness of the device while keeping most of the good things Samsung put on top of stock Android.
New update
Samsung released a new update to the TabPro 8.4 which is supposed to improve stability and add "Kids mode" (firmware version ending with NE3). I gave it a go and the random reboots got back! wiped my device clean and installed NAI firmware and all is well again!
So I have been experiencing random restart on my htc 10 unlocked. This is my second htc 10 the first one never had this problem and the second one never had it until the android 7 update. I think it could be some apps so I have uninstalled some app that i have installed right before getting the random restarts. Is anybody else experiencing restarts? I have also notice both restarts have been while using facebook messenger...

Try setting Chrome as web view. Developer options -> WebView Implementation and then select Chrome instead of Android System WebView.
