[Q] MMS saving pics? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have a question in regards to my Xperia Arc.
I received some pics via mms, and i have since deleted the message thread.
Is there a default place the Arc saves those received files? Or, have I just lost the pics forever?
Thanks for your help in advance!!
Amanda

I'm pretty certain you have to manually save the picture otherwise it's only stored within the message.

ahhh crap!!
really?

I also think you can't retrieve the photo when you deleted the message and haven't saved the photo manually...

[Q] Can't get contact profile pictures from facebook

Hi All,
I am having this particular problem for a long time now.
I always link my contacts with facebook. But the new contacts I have created and linked can not update the "contact profile picture" from facebook. Also a few of old contacts people have changed their profile pic on facebook. I can't see the new profile pic as the contact pic.
But apart from this picture problem everything is working perfectly. I get regular updates. Just not changes in profile pic.
Finally I did a format of my HD Mini and put all contacts manually again. But still the problem exists. I can get the facebook updates but none of my contacts have a picture now. Can anyone please help me on this.
Thanks ..
Hi! I had the same problem and reported it in the general section of this forum. Here is the solution which worked for me:

Okay, I found a solution!
Picture sync does obviously not work, when safe browsing in facebook is enabled. I switched of this option in facebook under account settings. That means you don't use facebook via https when you're online. Afterwards pictures were loaded as usual. For further information read:

[Q] contact pictures not syncing?

I got a new LT15A device sent to me after the other one was deemed defective. I've almost got it back up to where I like it, but realize that the contacts are all cloud-based (either in google, facebook or twitter) I used to have the profile pic link with the contact on my phone, but now it doesn't seem to work. I only get the twitter pic & pictures that I linked directly on the phone. I'm hoping I don't have to do that for the rest of the contacts! Any help here would be appreciated. I'd prefer to leave the contacts off the phone if that option exists.
Thanks in advance.
answered in your second thread.

[Q] Restoring Deleted Files! Help

Hi People,
So I spent the great deal of this weekend setting up my phone so that it is rooted. I had great pleasure in deleting unwanted applications HOWEVER I was a little trigger happy and managed to delete a contacts system file. Not sure what it was exactly but this is what happened;
I can no longer save contacts under 'phone contacts'... in order to get them in the contacts list and keep them there I have to group them with my google account. Even though I have no way of viewing my saved phone contacts... their name appears on the messages they send me, so obviously the contact details are being saved somewhere in the depth of the system??? How do I fix this hole so I can save and view contacts AS phone contacts??
Look forward to hearing your responses to my prediciment. Also I have an Xperia Arc version 2.3.4
Thanks!

First take backup of your phone.
Then you can start from scratch, restore orginal firmware with flashtool and root again.
Always backup. I had the same thing but I was able to simpky restore it with TitaniumBackup

[Q] SMS/MMS filtering

Hey guys.
Prolly answered before, but I didn't find anything by googling nor searching the forum.
In my android inbox i got a few thousand texts/MMS. Here lies my problem.
I'd like to go back and delete MMS messages that weigh down the system, and that I no longer see any use having in my archive.
Rather save the pictures to gallery, instead of having them in there.
Is there any way of filtering the inbox to show mms only? Or any app that can do that? (Did also check google play).
Appreciate any help!
