Hey guys,
i've updated the radio to 32.56.0032U_5.17.05.23. from this time i got hard problems. the wlan turns on and off all the time, and if i want to go in the wlan-settings the device freezes, if i install an app the device freezes too, well actually it freezes at everything lol. even a ruu cant delete the s-off.
is it bricked? or what is this?
i hope you guys could help me
Lol bricked. Such an over used word nowadays. Just flash an older radio.
yea the ruu put an older radio on, but still doesnt work.
and why doesnt the ruu remove s-off?
If you got the newer hboots then you will need the downgrader hboot to downgrade.
Swyped...
so i did a downgrade, but s-off and its hboot is still there....
i got it fixed, mods can close/delete the thread
Tell us first what you did exactly to fix your problem, that might help someone else in the future.

ANd a few others that link back to one of those 3.
This is not my phone. I am helping my buddy who attempted to perma-root his phone using Visionary+ 14. I have an evo, and several other android phones and understand the basics of ADB and how to do most this stuff.
After he applied the patch, we are stuck on the white HTC screen. The problem is, it does NOT have the ENG SPL, we are still s-ON and still have stock recovery.
Here is what i have attempted so far:
download and tried to have it reload PC10IMG.zip - Got an error that said the version i was trying to install was older than the one i already had. I downloaded the latest one i could find.
Since i can get into the stock recovery, i downloaded and tried to use update.zip to reinstall things correctly, but that didnt work. It didnt error out and looked like it installed correctly, but still just stuck at the white HTC screen.
I cannot access ADB (at least any way that i know how).
Yes, i have the correct USB drivers installed and ADB is working as i have accessed it for other phones.
Here is the phone stats:
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.82.000
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.26_m
eMMC-boot

I cannot find the right RUU to give that a try either. I have found a few that MIGHT be right, but i dont want to mess it up more by flashing the wrong thing (if this would even help.. i dunno)
ANY HELP WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED!!!!
Anyone?? Help????

You only posted a few hours ago. On a weekend. Might want to be a little more patient than that...
And you stated you have S-OFF? But not the engineering HBOOT? So were you using Visionary to temproot and then used gfree to get S-OFF? If so, you should be able to flash a custom PC10IMG with the radio removed (so it doesn't check for the version number). I know there is a thread containing one made by Hot_Hands that some people have used.
Or did you actually mean you had S-ON and that was just a typo? If that's the case, you're at the same point as a lot of others who have semi-bricked their device with Visionary (there are lots of threads out there with people describing this exact situation---phone had the OTA already, still S-ON, no ADB access, stuck at the HTC screen). Don't think anyone's come up with a solution yet. Most are just waiting and hoping that an RUU of 1.22 comes out at some point.
And just to make sure, you tried leaving the phone on for a while before connecting with ADB? And ADB didn't work in recovery either?

you mean leave it on the white HTC screen for a while? What is a while? I left it for a minute or 2 then tried and no dice... you think longer? Also, no ADB when in recovery (i think this is because its stock recovery maybe??)
i DO have access to fastboot (i think) but not sure if this gives us any where to go with it??
Sorry for the confusion and pushy-ness and thanks for your help!

Well, like I said before, this is the type of semi-brick that people seem to be stuck in when Visionary fails and I haven't seen a working solution. When I said to leave it at the HTC screen, it was just something mentioned in the how to recover semi-brick thread you linked to in the original post. Unfortunately, if that didn't work, you might by out of options.
EDIT: And oh, I forgot to mention about fastboot. Although it might seem like fastboot detects the phone properly, you cannot actually use it to flash anything unless you have the engineering HBOOT, so that doesn't help any.
Maybe geting the orginal stock rom and flash it through bootloader
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App

Hmmm how do I do that? Is there a different way other than adb? I will check again but pretty sure I don't have adb access (I think this is what the eng spl does but I am just guessing here) does fastboot allow Me to do anything like that?
Ok, so my friend tried flashing some new Rom in the Hboot and it didn't complete or something and it caused the phone to update the radio and turn S-on. So now we restored the phone since it wouldn't turn on and at the moment we are at 6.1.1 with the newest Radio_12.5 0.60.24_26.08.04.16_M, and rooted but S-on. Question is, how do we go about getting S-off?
We thought about unrooting and maybe restoring all the way back to stock but didn't know if that would allow us to even downgrade the radio? Is he just stuck? Any help would be great.
And to clarify, I didn't do it, or have any part of what happened, so comments about me flashing and not knowing what I was doing need not to be stated, I'm just trying to get some help from him as he has a 0 post count.
Thanks.
nm. problem solved
heyyy i want to update my desire to gingerbread so that i need RUU for that coz I cant able to get to recovery mood my phone is stuck...
RUU is not available on htcdev.com so any one has a link please share....
its the top link on the htcdev site:
http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
but you have to download and flash the hboot downgrader hboot first as you are s-off.
But please stop and slow down for a minute. Decide what you actually want and fix one issue at a time please.
Youre doing a million things to fix issues that perhaps you dont fully understand and before long youll brick your device.

thankyou again for helping me.... )
Right here is my problem, I had a rooted Desire which I was trying to unroot and in the past I had used a RUU to do it. This time round the RUU didnt work due to Hboot versions so I downgraded to a Froyo Rom. The catch is that Froyo Rom did not have a Radio and stupid me I did not flash a radio. Then I ran the Gingerbread RUU from HTCs website so basically at the moment I am sitting with a Desire that is running 2.3.3 stock but unable to make any calls due to the lack of a radio. I cant seem to be able to find a way to root the phone again and flash a radio. Any help will be appreciated.
wrong section dude
ask in Q/A
RUU comes with radio.. so find exactly ur problem then ask. and u dont need to flash radio if u have done this once..
and u can check if u have a radio installed and which version in the settings. about phone
Er.. No radio, no phone. I don't imagine it would give a slightest flicker of life!

Many thanks I checked from settings and the RUU does indeed come with a radio, the problem was my sim card. Thank you very much.
Mods please feel free to remove the thread.
Hi, I'm a complete noob to modifying smartphones and my knowledge is very limited.
I wish to install a custom rom to my HTC Desire.
One of the reasons is that the device is overheating and falling into a reboot loop and I beleive that to be a software glitch and hope this would help (not sure, but could be).
Anyway, I've found a really nice tutorial made by linkslovesandroid, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084 and have come to a stop at the very beginning since it says:
"**This method only works for users with hboot 0.93 and lower. Sorry 1.06 users, but until unrevoked updates, your stuck on stock htc***"
I've looked up my hboot and it's 6.93.
I presume that it will not work then.
So...can I modify my hboot, if yes how, is there another workaround or another tutorial (understandable for my level of knowledge which is close to 0) I may follow?
Please help!
if you will check hboot(power and vol -)/fastboot(power+back) screen it will say S-OFF
so you don't need to do anything just access recovery and flash any rom you like just keep in mind you have to adhere any developer requirements

The reason the device is overheating and rebooting is due to a very well known hardware fault with the Bravo. Changing ROMs won't help.
Thanks to the both of you.
Indeed it is S-off..
I've researched the matter further and I fear it is as you say, a hardware error, there are numerous reports about faulty motherboards if that is what you mean.
I got the device 2nd hand so no warranty or anything, hope it's not too expensive to fix it, although if it is a motherboard issue, I'm afraid of the price.
Does anyone know aprox. how much does it cost to fix this?
No idea. Ebay is your best bet.

My desire has same hboot. I made S-OFF with revolutionary method (check alpharev webpage).
Once you are S-OFF you can change your hboot just by downloading the hboot image from alpharev. Rename zip to PB99IMG.zip and place it at your sd-card. Reboot on bootloader, zip will be detected and you will be asked if you want to apple update, answer yes. And that's all, enjoy your new hboot.
