I used sandisk microsd 4gb class 4. it works fast but instable...
Well, I was frustrated having to reinstall over and over again on my Sandisk 16 c4. So I just installed it on an old Nokia phone no-name Micro SD card of 1gig (probably Class 2).
And it runs perfectly stable! No issues what so ever. I guess that just might be the fact that Android partition is just 419 something mbs. Speed is almost 85% of Sandisk..Only grip is that Media scanning takes considerably longer, it used to be like 40-50 secs with Sandisk, this one required about 3-4 mins..that also at mere 512 mb partition with no media on it. There is no lag or anything. but the size of the card makes it literally useless...
I have a kingston 8gb class 4...i recommend to stay away from this card because it too slow. It would be good to know what is the best card to use
Presumably a class 10 card is the best?

Yeh you would think so but it be good to have like a comparison chart of a few cards and how well they perform on both ext2 and ext3 and issues that may occur, tho that sounds like a bit of work as it needs contributions from a few people
Sandisk 32Gb class 4, as far as i know, has the best 4k write speed that is good for booting (many read/write on small files) from sd.
Otherwise, if you are interested only in storage performances, go for lexar 16gb/32gb class 10, with a good read speed and excellent write speed (but NOT on 4k). Or even for a cheap Team one.

OK, 7dayshop are selling the following for £38.99 in the UK
Micro SD High Capacity (MICROSD-HC) Memory Card - 16GB Class 4 (118x) - Dane-Elec
Will it make any difference to the X1 if its a class 2 card or a class 4 card?
The classes defines the writingspeed of a memory card. A class 2 Card can write 2 MB, class 4 4MB/second. The real writing speed is much different. My 16GB Memorycard (Class2) is much faster than my 8GB Card (Class 4).

Yeah that true i have reliaze that after i have already buy a dan-elec MicroSd of 4Gb and it is slower in writing than my old one MicroSD 8Gb Sandisk (OEM with my xperia)...
So i recommend you to buy a MicroSD Sandisk this brand is faster and more quality...
And if sonyericsson choose it..Is for something isn' t it?
Also Kingston are good but Dan-Elec or Duracell (Are the same)
Are the worst i think....
Very slow.............
brand makes a difference.
I have a 16G sandisk class 2, althoguh I did not do any benchmarking, it doesnt feel any slower than my previous 8G sandisk class 4 card.
You won't see a difference if you don't do continuous photo shooting or copy big files from your desktop to your card anyway. I say for the purpose of the card (i.e. used in mobile devices) a class 2 is sufficient but I would still recommend getting from reliable brand like sandisk.
Hi all,
I've currently been using a 16GB Sandisk Class 4 MicroSD in my Note, and that's filling up, and I'm planning to switch to a 32GB card.
BUT, there's 2 I'm stuck against choosing between.
This one is a 32GB Class 4 card by SanDisk:
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...0&searchtype=allproducts&ob=4&urlrefer=search
But this one is a 32GB Class 10 card by Play.com:
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/21619964/0/Play-com-32GB-Micro-SD-SDHC-Memory-Card-Class-10/ListingDetails.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchSource=1&searchfilters=ae63{Play.com}+&urlrefer=search
Which should I go for?
If you want more speed: Class 10
If you want more money: Class 4
I used a 32gb class 10 previously and now the 64gb SanDisk class 6.
While I did like the speed and filling up the new one took it's time, I do prefer volume over speed.
The 64gb gives me so few worries over space, and once my "permanent" media was on it I am in gb-heaven.
But then, to me the space was the priority.
If you have the need for speed, a fast 32 may fit you better, or you can wait until 64 gets fast.
Also keep in mind that you can buy a fast 32, a 2 dollar usb otg cable on Amazon and a big thumb drive for less than the price of a 64. But that is a clunky solution.
I prefer the big card.

Why dont yo go for a 32 GB Sandisk Ultra (Class 6) Memory card. It has a good performance.
If in any case you need to buy a class 10 card go for transcend/kingston or even Samsung
i suggest you to buy patriot class 10
is our galaxy 3 is compatible for microsd 2.0? does it support MicroSDHC. and if yes does that make any difference.
I read that HC stands for high capacity even transfer speed is more..so wanted to buy 4 gb class 6 MicroSDHC.. is it a good option :silly:

I have 8 class 8GB microsdhc card and works fine. No problems. Writing speed is aprox. 4,2 MB/s if it helps.
I have 8GB class 6 microsdhc and it works fine.
I had the same question...but I directly approached the Samsung guys...they told me that for sg3 microsdhc cards up to class 6 are supported. Above classes will work but not at their optimal speed.
.: cheers:.

Mine is ZE551ML and spec says it support only 64 gb card, will it still accomodate 128gb card?
Yes it will. mine is the same model.
Wow thanx base_band5 ☺
Guys, last time saying this... 64gb is SDXC. 128gb is SDXC. Your zenfone 2 supports the SDXC format so ANY sd card that is SDXC WILL work.
Theoretically this is up to approx. 2Tb... Unfortunately, the biggest micro sd card released so far is 200gb and yes, that will work too...
