First, please put a title to your question
Did you unlock the bootloader before the OTA update?
If so, have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
And yeah, a thread title would be nice in future

anyone please, do you have an idea?
i have the latest version, and i want a way to root it
tanks in advance for answers
NO. As stated on numerous threads.
You'll have to wait for the OTA update which is rolling out. thanhss in another thread said that he did receive the update for his Neo and he retained root.

And as said in the other thread, that is for the Neo, Arc users are told to update using PC Companion, which means you lose root.
Yup, I did mention that it was for the Neo but it does support the fact that in the near future, the arc too would get the OTA update. So let's keep our fingers crossed. LOL!
Its seems same question is repeating itself in new threads all day long.
Of course, everyone is eager to get the latest firmware. But why, oh why, can't they use the Search??

Makes you wonder why Arc users are asked to use PCC then.
LOL! We be scapegoats for them? Just kidding but it's normal that the PCC version comes out before the OTA.
Perhaps it's just the whim and fancy of the all-knowing guys over at SE
Thank you guys
but i wthink arc will never get the OTA update, cuz neo was even more developed before this final version, that is ow se is
saw someone post hk version got ota update, u could flash back to 2.3.2 (hk version)+ gingerbreak it, then do ota

Hi,
My arc is currently rooted on 3.9.1.a.0.145, i live in Egypt i tried OTA update but it found nothing.
so basically how can i update to the newest 4.0.a.2.368 update without killing the root?
N.B. my device is officially unlocked.

Something There Might help ^
devise is already updated and rooted now i want to update to 4 without losing the rooting!
And a ton of people are going to ask the same question. Sigh!
As of yet, there's no OTA update roll out for the latest .368 firmware for the arc. Some regions have the OTA update for the neo.
We ALL will just have to wait a bit longer for SE to do the honours. Patience mate!
so how other arc users managed to update their devices ?

If you have an unlocked bootloader (as adviced in your first post), then you must look in the development section, they have the stuff you need.
If you have locked bootloader like so many of us, you just have to try and keep hitting the "update button" in the settings menu and hope for the best.

And there you go! You have your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc rooted! In case you are facing any issues or want to thank the developer in person, then head to the official XDA thread posted here. In next day i look in the rooting status and Bootloader unlock allowed says "YES" now i have two backup-TA one with bootloader status NO and one with bootloader status YES. I have read many sites and everybody say's when your bootloader unlock allowed say's No You can't change this to YES. But my phone first have NO and now he have YES. This is normal in this phone?
I gvie here two screenshots one with Bootloader No and one with Bootloader Yes. In screenshot i only remove 4 last number of my IMEI. Can somebody explain me that how he changed it from NO too Yes? Sorry for my english.
You might have received an update, hence the change. But I'm not too sure, can anyone confirm this?

Hello This is very intresting for me. I Have Xperia M C1905 number compilation 15.1.A.1.9 And i don't update it. I have only rooted. When I remove battery from phone and wait about one minute and then start phone my rooted status is NO. When i look next time for status about half hour the status i have YES! If anyone does not believe me I can prove it in some way.
Well, as far as I know that problem happen when using 15.1.A firmware. However, if you update your firmware to 15.1.C, the problem is solved. I've read same problem at Indonesian Xperia M thread on other forum.

When you update the firmware, the status will be YES, regardless the status before you update the firmware. So you can update the fiirmware anytime, not only when the status is YES.
I've sent you PM about the thread
I am creating this thread to avoid confusion among users and to prevent spamming by users creating a new thread when any new firmware arrives.

Framaroot took 3-4 times (instead of 1-2) but it does work. How many times did you try?
This message was brought to you from my Sony Xperia M C1905 using Tapatalk.
Framaroot worked for me from the first time after update.
Framaroot Alternate and a better one
