hey guys i rooted my phone a few weeks back and now an running synergy sense 3.0.
how do i go about deleting the system apps or stock apps that phone will not simply let u uninstall is there an app to do that or do i have to go through the phone hardware itself??
View attachment SdxAppRemoval-1.5.apk
i use this
be careful you can delete important stuff, use caution. back up first!!
I use Titanium Backup to remove system apps.
It has the capability to "freeze" them without actually removing them. This is helpful when you don't really want to get rid of it permanently but just want to stop it from running on its own.
It also allows you to be sure that no problems will be caused by removing the app. If something else depends on it and you start getting force closes you can thaw the app to recover it.
Once you are sure that you want to be rid of it forever you can remove it completely.
off the top your head do u know what all can be removed without messing up pone?
+1 for using Titanium Backup to remove system apps.

At one time I saw someone here trying to build a comprehensive list. Definitely can remove the 'bloat' like Amazon MP3, NASCAR, NFL, Kindle, Nova, Sprint Navigation, and the other Sprint apps.
Things that get you into trouble are things that are integrated into Android (like Google Talk) or HTC Sense.

This is the list I was thinking of:

Hi Guys
1. Is there a way to remove unwanted apps from my apps in Google play?
2. Is there a mod to stop music being interrupted by notifications or the least by co-pilot gps?
1. There is two type of apps installed. First type is normal app, which you installed from Google Play or Manually. Second type is system app which come along with the phone, you can saw those on first boot. YOu can't uninstalled those, but you can disabled them through Settings >> Apps.
2. As what i knew, the answer is no. In common sense, a phone notification(sms..) is crucial than music playback.
Thx Man
Point 1 I know I just want to get rid off apps in my apps in Google play. You know apps that you installed to test and did not like or apps you do not use/can not use anymore like my old Motorola apps from very old android that are now part of os.
Point 2 odd excuse it is for me to decide not them. Other OS's out there (old or new) do not have that issue.

On a cm rom I used back on my xperia x8 music was lowered to play the notification and not cut out completely, so it can be done.

1. If your app comes from Google play, you can uninstall from setting->app and choose app that you want to uninstall
2. If your app comes within your ROM, you can install root explorer and then open choose system-> app from that folder choose apk that you want to uninstall after that reboot your phone to take the effect..
Note : for option 2 your phone must be rooted..

Sure it can be done, but for now no developers is providing this mod. As what i know this will need to tweak allow muxing channels. I remembered the ICS add some support for audio channels.
Regarding your first question (seeing as everyone seems to have misunderstood and is telling you how to remove apps from your device); no, I don't think there's any way to do that. The Play store always shows all apps you've ever installed and there doesn't seem to be any way to modify that behaviour (either on the device or on the web). I'm not sure of the logic behind not being able to edit that history.
Make a new google-account? No history anymore
And no purchased apps and no mail and no good solution.
2 silent mode should prevent notification from interrupting music
The new play update let's you remove from my apps section, it's floating around the forum somewhere I installed it earlier

Just installed CM10 for my frist time. Like it but a few features I liked in stock are gone. Specifically you can't kill all open apps in the task manager at the same time and you need to manually remove each open one... Huge pain in the ass in my opinion.
I searched the play store from some third party ones but it seems like most of them are designed to work with Gingerbread. Can someone recommend a good solution that will kill all open apps at once?
Thanks kindly
Ok so this has been pissing me off for a very long time and I have done a lot of research and read through a bunch of forums and im still NOWHERE. When you save music to the SD card in google music on our LG optimus G it saves it to /data/data/com.google.android.music/
This is a HORRIBLE place to save music. Every time you wipe data you lose all the music you have downloaded which in my case is upwards of 10 gigs. Not fun to download 10 gigs of music every time i switch roms. I could merely not wipe data, but the problem with that is its then a dirty wipe and ive been doing this long enough to know that dirty wipes don't always go perfectly. So on to the solutions I have tried that have failed:
1.) Use the music+ app made by a user here on XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140756
Now this solution seemed to work at first because when you download the music for offline use you can literally store it anywhere. So store it on the simulated sd card and your problems are solved right? wrong. after downloading all the music, wiping your phone flashing a new rom and restore the apk+data with titanium i find out that the app can not see any previously downloaded music that still exists in that folder and thus when you try to download more music, it wipes everything and starts fresh.
2.)Use Directory Bind created by another user on XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
now I had some hopes for this one but unfortunately it cannot access data stored in /data/data i dont think it has root permissions, which is the problem
3.) I briefly tried symlinking the data from a different folder (though i may have done it wrong i didn't put my whole heart into the attempt)
this didn't work either (unless i simply did it wrong.)
If anyone has a solution that does actually work I would greatly appreciate hearing about it because its at the point where i hesitate before flashing roms because i dont want to lose all my music.
Also please don't suggest simply putting the music on my phone and using a different player. i have come to find that i need to use google music as not all my music fits on the amount of storage we are given and i inevitably need to stream it sometimes.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. I hope this thread also helps others having the same issues.
Edit: this is interesting. im gonna take a crack at it see if it helps

I didn't read your whole post because I'm tired, but I do know you can place the music in whatever place you want, and the music application will pull it up.
Edit: also, in my experience, any music I've saved through the music app has stuck through several rom flashes, including EOS and CM.
Tried a few things, including the methods in that last link you posted. I was missing pictures since flashing CM because of the sdcard/0 partition thingy it created. They seem to have come back. Maybe that will fix your music issue.

Yeah im kind of hoping that the most recent solution i have found will solve my problem (deleting the nomedia thing) i haven't tried it yet but i would have to use google music+ for this not the regular. you can put your music elsewhere and google music will read it but see i want to have the adaptability of just clicking the save offline music thing to both add music to my offline, and remove music from it. its just convenient. If i had it in a different spot on the sd that wouldn't work.
when you flashed between eos and cm, did you factory reset in between? because if i dont do that the music will stay but i dont want to be constrained that way
There is an app called cloud music importer or something like that. It logs into your Google music account and then allows you to download your music. It stores it in the music folder under cloud music. Google music player will still play it too. The free version of the app only allows 50 downloads. There is an in app purchase that is tied to your Google account so you don't have to keep purchasing it.

Good idea but not what im looking for. two apps instead of one. and then the music is separate from the music in the google music app itself. kinda defeats the purpose
EDIT: i might end up giving in and doin this. i have been unsuccessful in just about every way im testing this app out to see how well it works
just realized this cant be my solution because i can't fit all my music on my phone otherwise this would be a good solution
You don't have to download your whole library. Just the albums or playlists that you want. I mainly use it to place music on my phone so zombie run can see it
Edit: I'm totally with you tho and wish it was back to how it was in the beginning instead of just downloading inside the app

Can you install the HTC Apps from Google Play?
Then disable the Google apps like: Calculator, Calendar, Chrome, Photos, etc?
And one more question, are the dialer/phonebook, messages, music, notes (Scribble), voice recorder and tasks google or HTC apps? (I hope HTC)
Anyway, if it doesnt. If you extract the apps from any M9 rom (maybe deodexed), could you install the .apk files?
Also, does it have the grid view on Recent Apps? (Please say yes)
I would like to know if this is possible as well. I prefered htc apps over Google...
From what I have seen and read you can do this yes.
Yes, this is possible.
My mind is a little blown that some people have these preferences, but yes, you can.

People have different tastes.
Like some people prefer Touchwiz/Xperia/Optimus/Miui/etc over AOSP, because each of these skins add something new that appeal to a certain group of people.
The big advanatge of HTC apps is that they are not completly linked to all the damn google stuff. I want to use the playstore for apps, but the other stuff is mostly an invasion of privacy...

Well, I mostly prefer Google apps, but the HTC Music player is awesome, so yeah that's the first app I'll be installing when the 10 hit UK market
HTC uploaded Boost+ on Google Play.
Guess what was in one of the screenshots.
Sense 8 apps.
See for yourselves.

Who's the say that isn't from an M8 or M9?
Anyway I believe if HTC makes it available you can get it from the Play store. If not then you may have to sideload it and hope it works.

Most HTC apps can be downloaded from the Play Store on the 10. However, one that is not compatible with the 10 is the HTC gallery app.

Is there a work around for this yet? I hate using Google photos...
Tried extracting the Gallery.apk from a M9 rom but it kept force closing.
I don't mind Google Photos as an app to create and save my pictures, but it's absolutely not ready to be integrated into the camera app. It takes way too long after taking a photo to review and edit. And forget taking a burst of photos, you have to wait literally a minute or more to see them.

3 choices:
-you could use Team Fulmics's ported apps
-you could download ICE ROM for M8 and extract some themed Sense 8 apps (but low chance for them to work... Althrough they are running on a Sense 8 rom)
-there was some thread on XDA where somebody actually ported some apps especially for the HTC 10
Imo, you should the second idea, because the Sense 7 apps would not quite fit with Sense 8, so better try some themes ones first.
If they dont work, just try the other things.

Because of the status bar. Is the stock google one.
HTC One M9/M8 doensnt have that.
So... I think HTC has made new apps, but they are not releasing them for some reason. :/
I can deal with almost all of the changes that they've made but I'll tell you the one app that I'm really missing is the HTC music player. I found the APK file online but every time I install it the app force closes
I don't particularly care for the Google photos app because what it would like to do is upload all of the photos from my phone to my Google account and I don't necessarily want that to happen. I actually hate the way Google handles most of their data collection. So I've made it a habit of mine ever since I started using android to go into the sink settings and turn off everything except for my Gmail.
I'm pretty comfortable with the way things are now
I have slowly gotten used to the Photos app from Google...
I did try to side-load HTC Music Player, but it keeps crashing on me... if anyone has a stable version, please let me know. Google play subscription isn't available where I live, so casting is disabled and I can't use my wireless speaker system...
Good grief, can't use the HTC Music Player app and can't edit the quick settings so there's a huge amount of pap in there at the moment. No interest in using Google photos or most other Google apps, seems to me like HTC has sold a bit of its soul to Google and left out some of its good apps like the gallery. If i wanted a stock launcher and all that Google crud I'd buy a Nexus device.
Strange, HTC Music player crashes but not Htc Music widget.
