If you don't want Sense, probably not. I'm currently running the CM6 + Wimax alpha, which I really like.
As far as Sense ROMs go, Calkulin's EViO is my favorite.
FWIW, you're probably better off asking these kinds of questions in the Q&A forum.
I am also running alpha2. Mikfroyo is my fav sense rom. Sooperfast feel.
CM7 Nightlies are coming out tonight. You could try one of those once the first EVO build drops.
I seemed to have nothing but problems with CM6. There was a lot of churn with the different versions of ClockWork recovery, but even when I used RA Recovery I still had issues. I finally gave up and switched to VaelPak 3.0 with the netarchy 4.1.9.1 Kernel and all is well. Seems to be a solid combo for me at least.
On a semi related note will cm6 themes be compatible with cm7?

Same here loving the alpha wimax, so can't wait to have gingerbread mixed into the pot, and baked to pure awesomeness.
swyped from my gingerbread'd Evo 4G
Agree that Calkulin's ROMs are very stable. He cooks some very nice ROMs. He is pretty reliable about updates and addressing issues. EViO line of ROMs are quick and they are stable. Have had the pleasure of using Cal's kitchens back in the WinMo days...he is one of the best!!

And Supersonic is building now...
First off, wrong forum. This belongs in Q&A.
Second, this is all but insulting. There are at least 5 good ROMs on every page. Click on some and look at them. Are you too lazy to do the work yourself?
Finally, here are a list of ROMs that are all very good ROMs in my opinion. I hate to even respond to someone who's too lazy to do their own work, but I think the devs deserve credit for making other VERY GOOD ROMs:
Salvage 0.9.6 <-- My current, 2.3, most stable ROM I've ever used
Myn's Warm RLS5
MIUI
Evervolv is ok
Frost is great, but needs to be updated
MikFroyo
Azrael

Hey guys,
I need some help here, im trying to figure out which ROM is the best for my needs. Im a heavy user I use a lot of texting, email and social networking. I do have exttended battery, so battery is not a problem for me. I don't mind if the Rom is not Wimax (4g) friendly but ill love to have Wimax(4g) because I pay that extra $10 so why not have it. Thanks in advance...

I have used Ava, Azrael, CM6 and 7, Myn , MikFroyo and EViO. I think all of those would work for you. I would take a look at some of the different screen shots and see what you like and go from there.
If I were you, I would try at least CM, MikFroyo and EViO, but they're all good. There is a CM6.1.2 Alpha with wimax too, so all of those options will have it.

Thanks a lot, I'll try them tonight. Another question what version of CM should I try ? My co-worker told me CM is really good.
Edit : I'm looking for a STABLE release of CM but I can't find anything.
I've used CM v6, and MikFroyo v4.4, and both have been great. I prefer MikFroyo because of the speed and stability. Its easy to use as well. Plus CM doesn't support 4G (last time I checked) and Mikfroyo v4.4 does with no issues. So that's a big plus in my book.

The CM with WiMax (still Alpha) is 6.1.2. CM7 is still going through the motions but doesn't have WiMax support yet. The WiMax Alpha for CM6.1.2 is super stable.
Best thing to do is just start checking em out though.

6.1.2 is there last stable release. You also need to download the gapps for that rom. (Called Google addon)

As others have said, stable CM is 6.1.2. I would try the Wimax Alpha 3 if you're in a 4g coverage area. I had both reg and Wimax Alpha 2, no problems on either. I've been on EViO the longest, but I just flashed the latest Miui to see what was up.
It's pretty, but I'll probably go back to EViO, or Mik 4.5 when the stable comes out, or a CM7 Alpha with Wimax whenever that drops. I have a hard time staying one any one longer than a day or too.
Hey guys I just got root and installed Clockwork Mod and backed up everything. I'm just wondering what ROM does everyone think is best. I prefer AOSP but I can't seem to find what bugs are exactly in CM7 for INC2. Also thanks to rivera82falcon for the extremely helpful/clear instructions on how to root.
I'm running cm7 nightly 39 and so far I haven't seen any bugs or had any reboots whatsoever. And I'm also running tiamat. 1.1 and am overclocked to 1.5 ghz and the battery life is even better than it was stock. Noticeably better.

I use OMFGB with Tiamat 1.0.4. I also tried CM7 before. It really is a matter of preference. Give them all a shot and see what you like best.
Thanks for the responses I went with CM so far so good. I haven't had any issues so far.
I'd say CM7 Latest Nightly + Tiamat Kernel for the best setup IMO, if you want sense go with TrueLefty or RMK's roms.
I've used CM7, MIUI, and Incredible Sensation
Each one was stable, and each has it's ups & downs...if you like AOSP the CM7 nightly train is great!
I am using MIUI currently with the Tiamat 1.1 kernel. Phone flies. Haven't noticed any issues so far, but I am pretty minimalistic. Tried CM7 nightly 40 and Virtuous and they both performed great.

+1 for Truelefty's ROM. Very lightweight, zero problems. Not bad for a 14 yo dev!

thanks, i can't stand sense.
OG Vanilla rom!
What's the differences between the two? Right now I'm running cm7 RC right now so can someone tell me what the big difference is please
Sent from my PC36100
A stable build is just that; an RC [release candidate] is a stable build where everything works, no bugs. A nightly is a nightly/weekly build that has newer add-ons to enhance the rom, though sometimes there are occasional bugs, that are worked out in the next build.
So if I try the cm7 180 nightly there will me new features in it compared to the cm7 RC I'm running or will it be more the same

The link shows everything that was added in each nightly, and I would recommend updating to a newer nightly. Though you will need to backup your apps+data along with launcher settings, as you'll have to install it under a fresh instal [full wipe].
Really is it worthrunnong than NY cm7 rc
Sent from my PC36100
Personally I say yes; better functionality, more features, such as to mute camera shutter, built in screen capture, separate lock screen background.
And that's the nightly 202 would u have to update everyday lol or what

Try gingerbread-evo-deck.
I used to use CM7 and it drove me nuts because I always felt I had to flash the latest nightly, and I did! I got so tired of reflashing, and recovering from buggy nightlies, so I decided to try Deck's GB ROM. It is AOSP like CM7 (I think it's based off of it as well), but slimmed down and faster. I get better battery life, better performance, and there aren't crazy nightlies as much as CM7. It's very stable and nice to not feel like I have to flash another nightly.

Okay, thank you. Can you offer an opinion on which you like better?
CM7 by Slayher is actually really good. I use it. However, since it is not really a full release it does have bugs. But over all, fantastic for an alpha.
CM7 Hybrid by RoyalKnight6190 is yet another great alpha build (however he has had more work on it). It is faster...but since Netflix does not work, I do not use it.
Also note...there is only one kernel for all the CM7 alphas.
But, for the most part. CM7 is being pushed back for CM9. Just have patience.

There are both of the ROMs that ZombieUsr described, and we can also flash Skyrocket ROMs. They have the exact same bugs as ours, but there might be additional tweaks.
There is also a CM7 kernel that Da_G made for the Skyrocket, but Auto-Rotation is broken when you flash it to the T989 (disable it and you SHOULD be fine).
