[Q] Remove number and sprint id - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I activated my 3D and now I want to sell my evo 4G to my friend but even after a factory data reset, full wipe, and flashing a new rom the phone still has my number and Sprint ID in the about phone section in settings. Is there a way to remove that, or will it just change when he activates it?

Even though it shows your info, once you call to activate it, they will send the phone the programming signal and it will fix the phone to his info

I did it and it worked great

No Data During a Call or Text

I searched around and found that you can disable incoming calls while using data, but I was wondering if there's a way to keep calls and texts from killing data. I know there are phones out there that can access data while in a call. Is this an issue with the phone or the carrier?
Sprint network can't do phone and data at the same time. It can do 4G and phone though. Also wifi and phone too.
Thinking of a master plan while sending this from my battle station....
Got it. Thanks for the reply.

How does one disable calls but not data? That could be useful when I'm tethering.

Omg your icon ran away? What did you do to make it want to do that? Are you sure you didn't misplace the icon?

Try updating profile with a sense Rom.
This happened to me the other day too, but I lost everything, including voice services. I was only able to access data via wifi. I recovered back to my stock settings turned airplane mode on which made mobile data ask if I should turn it off since I turned the radio off, I turned it off then turned off airplane mode, went back and turned mobile data on and that fixed it.

I have a very similar problem. You need to revert your phone back to stock rom and then update everything. like your radio and your firmware, profile, everything that is there. Then re flash whatever you want on it. If it doesn't work (which it should) call your provider and they'll have you type some code and call a number that will fix it.
i tried to update the profile but it still gave me the same message, when i was getting the profile from the donor phone i only got profile 0.is that regular or do i have to have profile 0 and profile 1?

[SOLVED]Can't get 4g or 3g. Only E.

I fixed it by flashing a new ROM and wiping all the data!
Someone please help! I don't know what to do!
Nevermind, I think I fixed it!
I fixed it by changing the band to GSM Preferred/GSM ALL but now I only get E. Any way I can get back 4g?
Change it back to automatic or Odin kl1 modem from rootzwiki team kang post.

I changed it to auto, and i'm getting signal. Time to check if 4g. Thanks.
EDIT: It shows signal, but Im not getting any. Can't send text or browse web. Time to odin modem.
I flashed it, and I went to settings and looked at the network mode: It was GSM only. I changed it to auto mode. It seems to still get and send texts, and I looked at band selection with the dialer code, and there wasn't a star besides anything. I think it might've worked, but I still only get e.
By flashed I mean odined. Lol

I tried changing it to automatic in the band selection menu, and it showed signal, but texts didn't send.

Also, if it means anything, I can't change it to wcdma only in settings.

I had same issue and this is how I fixed it.
disable data connection and switch your phone off, remove the back cover and remove sim card completely. Then re-insert sim card and turn your phone back on and it should ask you to re-enable data connection once it boots up.
let me know if this helps

I did this, but it didn't ask me to turn it back on, so I turned it on manually, and still only E.

Other phones receive 3G? Perhaps T-Mobile is servicing your area? This has happened to me but I had no control over it.

Did you by any chance flash a rom port?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
Weird. My issue was that I was testing a few of the skyrocket modems. After using Odin to get kl1 it worked again. Yeah i would sugeest resetting apn in wireless settings .

Here's what I did that messed with my 3G
I flashed skyrocket roms.
So what I did was wipe everything. Go to mounts and storage and format system. Then flash Juggernaut or any other rom you desire. Then you're done

[Q] No data

For some reason I no longer have data. No matter what I try, I've restored back to stock, I've been on every ROM available to us, and still, no 3D. Forget 4G. Anyone else experience anything like this? Or have any ideas on a fix?

Check under System Settings > About phone > Phone Identity...are those values all 0's or are the filled with your number and other values?
If it is blank, your EFS got wiped.
Update profile and data and press activate your phone in settings.
