Need stock browser to CM7 - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
As title suggests I'd like to install stock browser.
Could anyone supply me with relevant files?
Ps: sorry for the annoying business english. I've been writing emails all day

You can get it from the cm7 zipfile if you have it.
its under:
system/app/browser.apk

i mean webkit 3.1 browser. i already have cm7 browser

Hey, I'm in the same situation.
I really need the SGSII touchWiz browser imported to CM7, since I really like it and its much better than any other browser I've tried(IMHO)
Can anyone help me?
Thx in advance.

Just ate some new FroYo! What is the best Android 2.2 browser/2.2 apps?

Just got my Supersonic!(I prefer this name), came from a Hero.
Well, I deleted the stock browser because Ive never liked them. On my Hero, I used to use Opera Mini. Now with my Supersonic, Im looking for the best browser to utilize all the new features, like Flash.
Thanks for all your help.
p.s if you could recommend more 2.2 specific apps and such, it would be greatly appreciated.
i use the Charming Browser or the Browser from CM 6.1.2

Thanks

[Q] User agent questions, not working properly...

Hello,
I've been a long time lurker and I finally flashed my first HTC Desire Z rom a few days ago.
The problem I've been having is that the user agent setting in all of my browsers don't work like they used to when I was still running stock Gingerbread (I'm running the latest G-Lite now).
I used to be able to get to any desktop site using Dolphin HD, and now I can't. But, Opera is still able to access the desktop version of ESPN.com. I know espn is one of those super picky sites regarding the user agent/mobile browser thing, but I used to be able to access the full site no problem. I've tried nearly every browser on the market (xScope, Skyfire, Boat Browser, Miren, stock browser about:debug thing, Firefox) and nothing works except Opera. I've played around with numerous user agent strings with no luck. What the hell is up with that?
Is it because of the super lightweight rom I chose? I know it's a minor problem, but I'd really love some help here. And, I really don't like Opera's bloatedness and Flash performance. Thanks!
Try maxthon browser. I find it's the best one out of them all. Should work fine.
Sent from my DZ.
Tried Maxthon. It's very nice and quick but it has the same problem as the others. What makes Opera so special over every other browser? I dunno, thanks anyway.

Browser with text reflow other than opera?

Does anyone know one that works with Jelly Bean? I cant seem to find one Boat Browser worked with ICS but now on JB it just doesnt work anymore...
And i know opera does this, but i really dislike how opera scrolls through pages and how it sometimes doesnt display stuff correctly. So i'd like to avoid that browser
I have checked any other browser trying to find one that reflow like Opera to no avail.
Opera is the only one with auto reflow when you aply/change zoom and this is the reason why I use it since old good WinMo days...
I can't understand browsing without this feature and realy don't find any problem with last Opera version.
Sorry
well i see i guess i have to make due with chrome (does pretty good text alignment so you dont have to zoom at all) until CM10 gets stable, in vanilla android text reflow works with pretty much with every browser...
I guess samsung is coming out with their own browser

I love how opera reflows and scrolls.
"Smartphone is no longer a phone"
Sorry to revive this old thread, but based on the above I've been using Opera just because of the text reflow. I really don't like its method for switching between tabs/windows, though. I much prefer the tabs at the top like most other tabbed browsers. So, I've found I keep trying all the others again. Well, I just tried the updated Boat Browser today and found they have now fixed it to do text reflow in JB. It works great! I really like it MUCH better than Opera now. So, any of the rest of you wanting text reflow, might want to give BB a fresh try.

Dolphin browser, available on the Play store. Works just fine for me and it supports flash, plus a host of plug-in features. l''m on stock Jellybean rom, upgraded from stock ICS.

So when you zoom in on text in Dolphin it is reflowing (wrapping) the enlarged text for you so you dont have to scroll left-right? Just want to ensure you mean the same thing because I'm on stock JB as well and Dolphin Browser sure isn't doing that reflow for me. I like Dolphin otherwise, so if it could do this I'd be happy with it, but unfortunatly it doesn't.
why you don´t use stock browser?
it has an option to do that what you want.
I am currently using boat browser without any issues. Try it, they might have fixed it in latest update.

How? There is an "autofit" in the stick browser, but that just zooms to the full page. I don't believe it does text reflow.

Yes, when I zoom in on text, the enlarged text is wrapped and I can read without having to pan left or right. I have Dolphin Browser v9.0.1 (with Jetpack v1.0.1).. The user agent is set to desktop.

Cool! I hadn't heard of Dolpin Jetpack before. It does NOT reflow with just Dolphin, but I just installed Jetpack and sure enough that makes it reflow. Thanks for suggesting that!
Hmm, now to decide which is my new favorite - Dolphin or Boat...

Nice hint - I can confirm that with the given versions it used to work (even with the user agent set to Android rather than Dolphin), but at least since Dolphin 9.2.0 with Jetpack 2.0 it does not work anymore.
This is the aosp browser with working text reflow
Just remove the stock browser then reboot and install this as a normal app (Not system app)
For the text to reflow zoom and then double tap on the text
latest firefox has text reflow feature

True. I foolishly auto updated to the latest version of Dolphin Browser and lost that feature (as well Flash support). Unistalled it thereafter and am now using Boat Browser. No complaints with Boat Browser so far.

I tried it out, but this browser does not provide text reflow (on my Samsung Galaxy Note2 running Android 4.1.1) either
I did select "Auto-fit pages" in the advanced settings and did try double-tapping as you wrote in your next post, but with no luck.

I can confirm that text reflow works with Boat Browser (after enabling the "Text wrapping" option in its settings).
In case anyone else also likes to revert Dolphin to version 9.0.3 and Jetpack 1.0.2 (the last versions with which I found reflow to work),
I attach the former as apk file, while attaching the latter apk file did not work for some technical reasons - even after zipping the file
to some 11.4 MB, I always get a strange error: "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing".
Thus I now offer both for download at http://David.von-Oheimb.de/perlen/Android/Apps.html

Stock browser on Nexus 7

Is it possible to install the android stock browser on a Nexus 7 without rooting it?
Why not just useChrome, the current default browser in Android?

Thanks, I hate chrome. :good:
Also adobe flash doesn't work in chrome. I use and older version of adobe 11.1 but ends with the last numbers in .58 and it works with some browsers including android stock or at least it did in android 4.2 haven't really gotten a chance to test it on 4.3 since I'm stock but flash still work with Firefox with some finagling and also works with boat browser.
I don't understand why they'd take away a smooth superior browser in favour of chrome. Stock browser beats chrome in every way.

Couldn't agree more. I run Chrome on my PC (and am reluctant to switch to anything else), but on every android device I own, the stock browser just renders better/smoother. And the quick controls are great, as someone mentioned above.

aosp apps to replace samsung keyboard and browser

Hi All,
flash aosp rom yesterday after months on TW. And remember why I go back to TW
Question
1. What keyboard has a number row in aosp rom like TW keyboard
2. What browser zooms into text like the samsung browser. Im amazed how other browsers are bad at zooming text in xda-developers site.
reason I want to try again is TW cant beat how snappy it is and some one said now aosp roms are giving compatable bettery life as TW does.
So any help on getting a TW like keyboard and browser ?
Thanks in advance.
A keyboard you might like Hacker's Keyboard or following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164483
As far as the browser I've not really had any problems zooming in using Dolphin Browser, but if you don't care for it you might have luck with this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969991

Thanks for the tip, but the keyboard apk must be only for 4.2 roms as it did not work on SlimKat 4.4.2 since it did not launch the keyboard.
