[req] ICS GMail apk (?)

Hey guys!
I´ve seen some threads about working GMail (ICS) apks on tablets (e.g. EEE Transformer). Has anybody tested the new gmail app on the SGS II? Is it possible to use the same apk?
I hope this hasn´t been asked before, the search gave me no results...

No sorry, I didn´t. seems like many people are intersted in this (*clicks*^^), but no answer here so I think there isn´t any possibility for a port at the moment

Transformer and some other tablets got a port since they were originally running HoneyComb.There are huge differences in GB and ICS frameworks to be possible to port this to GS2. Sorry, it's not going to happen.

Samsung GT-P1000

Hi everyone
Please i know that somewhere in this web of forums their must be a wise and helpfull way of upgrading the samsung galaxy tap p1000 to either an cynogenmod or to honeycomb/icecreamsandwitch
If look around for a while now and im unable to find any straight forward explanation in doing so
So sorry for asking this question yet again
Does anyone know how to do such upgrade or to explain such process in detail or even direct me to such forum and probably most important if such upgrade is available
I am having issues with my tab,mostly it crashing or sometimes freezes for a while. Bought it about 3months ago with gingerbread preinstalled by samsung
I know that with my htc wildfire by rooting it and installing cynogenmod it helped it not crash and also improved with possibilities and speed
I want to do the same with my gt-p1000 but its still under warranty so want to be sure there is a root and mod upgrade that works so that i wont loose my warranty for incase.
Please if someone could advise

Have an ancient tab that has become boring.
Can anyone recommend a fast, pretty and stable rom? Have clockwork mod on it running Gingerbread 2.3.3 + kernel 2.6.35.7?
All help appreciated. I don't think it is rooted fully as Titanium can't get root.

Samsung Galaxy S2X games

I WANNA know that how to make use of chainfire 3D.. i dont know bout rooting and all that stuff.. although my android version is 4.0.4.. it cant play some games life nfs most wanted, avengers etc..! So anybody plz help me...

You dont need chainfire 3D or root access to play games on S2. nfs mw and most of other HD games run smoothly on stock roms

Root
Dude instead of using chainfire 3d, You can root your phone and install an awesome rom! Your phone will then become much better and trust me its an easy task. It just needs a little bit of work but remember to read through everything.

For a first timer I would recommend something more stable like 4.0.4 instead of jb leak. You could try chameleon 2.1. It's really fast and stable.

DONT FLASH ANY ROMS FROM THIS FORUM. You have a s2X which my father has and it has its own forum in the tmobile samsung galaxy s2 ht989. Flashing any rom here will **** up ur phone

As far as I know, there is no version of android with 2.4.1
Google directly released android 3 honeycomb after gingerbread 2.3

Its fake bcoz neither samsung nor google will sent you a message via sms. Updates notification pop out in a dialog box when ever there is any update or upgrade. Neither the companies will send u msg in hindi such as "namaste" .

I use Vodafone as a matter of fact and have also got this message.
The message indeed came from SAMSUNG! Whenever i got updates on stock rom i used to receive notifications thru sms only.
It indeed is official. As far as the 2.4.1 is concerned, i've no idea. @OP, which firmware are you using?(even though it's a custom rom)

AFAIK, the last version of Android Gingerbread that Google released was version 2.3.7. I've personally never seen or heard of Android 2.4.X.

This is a fake. Next to 2.3.6 is 3.0. Why does Android make a lower android version if there was already 4.1?

[Q] (Philippines) Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 MAY BE UPGRADABLE TO ICS?!?!

Last week I went to 2 malls... And this is how it began...
- I got into a Samsung Mobile official store and of course saw many Samsung phones
when i walked in, first thing i went to see is my phone ( ace 2 ) and saw that in its description:
Gingerbread 2.3.6 ( UPGRADEABLE TO ICS )
so then i got curious and asked those salesmen/ladies "is my phone really ICS upgradeable?"
i was so surprised when they said "YES"
so i asked again "but how is it upgradeable to ICS? i had waited so many months just to upgrade it but even now it isnt available through OTA/Kies"
then they said that i should go to a Samsung Service centre to have my ICS upgrade and I asked when will ace 2 JB be released...
they said that ICS will be the end of support for Ace 2 in the philippines... so now im curious... anyone got an Ace 2 with ICS in it?

Why open a new thread for this. Samsung have already announced that Ace 2 is skipping ics. Your store is wrong.

the first time ace 2 launch in the phil it was there.. you did not notice at all.. haha.. and they annouce that it will skip ics.. just search in phone arena or gsm arena.. you are so late to notice that at all.. another useless thread.. search on google.. LOL!!

Well apparently i go to 5 diff samsung stores and all was like i said ( UPGRADABLE TO ICS)

Im from PH too and yes it was said to be ICS upgradeable at first but they only base it on what they were told or see. Ace 2x is only available in some or maybe one specific variant and this Korean guy that stays in the nearby samsung store just told me that it is indeed skipping ICS and he told me that samsung never worked for 4.0 on ace 2 because of bugs and lags that it would have basing on new ICS phones they made. And he also told me PH would get official JB on june/july which is also case dependent. I showed him the leaked version and he was amazed on how fast the italian job with themes of Dr01nE was really fast and smooth.
and oh lastly, he told me that the ukraine announcement was a lie(idk if the first or second) and he told me it would be the same as the firmwares we got at TMN
