Anyone else on the beta notice that it just loops the song you play forever incrementing the counter?
Any known work arounds besides hitting the next button after every freaking song?
I am having same issue. Don't know how to fix it

I have this issue. I have read a number of other forums and it seems to be a common problem. I keep hoping for an update to fix it. Got to love beta software, lol

Yeah, it happens to me too.
I've been checking and it seems like it happens when I try to play songs that are not pinned or cached over 3G.
If the songs are pinned or cached, it doesn't happen and if I am playing over Wifi it doesn't happen
i am on SyndicateROM Frozen1.2 with Twilight Zone v1.1.1 kernel and for some reason i can't get my music to stream from my cloud is there something going on?

Are you linked up to your account? Within Google Music hit the menu button and go to settings. There it should ask you if you want to use your current google account for music or not. If that doesn't work, go to Settings>Apps>Manage Apps. Scroll to 'Music', hit it, and click 'Clear Data' and start over. There's some weird bugs in this app but thankfully they aren't any deal breakers yet.
As for the OP, I have the same problem as well, but it always seems to happen with the first song played (if it does happen) or a song that is freshly streams. Other then a few minor things, so far so good

Unmount and Mount the SD Card
Make Sure Wifi is on
Restart Your Phone
Open Music
If it still doesn't work, download google plus from the market and repeat the steps above. Some times (For some people including me) for some odd reason you have to log into a google service or download a google appp for the first time and then reboot for the software to recognize the phone. (Silly)

All of a sudden, whenever I listen to any music now, every now and again it will randomly pause.
I noticed as I was on my 50 minute walk to sixth form, suddenly it paused. I assumed I had accidentally pressed a button, but it kept happening again and again. I haven't changed anything about my phone, I haven't installed any new software between now and before it started happening...
I've tried the stock Music app and it seems to happen on that too.
Please help, this is a very frustrating problem as it will pause about 4-8 times in that 50 minute walk!
I was going to move to the alpha ICS ROM but it doesn't work with Google Music
EDIT: I don't have Google Listen installed
You can try this, there is also an app on the market which does the same.

Yes I do know that.
That does not mean I cannot ask questions and try to understand the problem.
After all it may present a solution that could work for many other people...
Okay well the SD thing didn't work, and neither did doing a full wipe and flashing a new rom...

I did not want to hear this! I get my GNex in 3 days!
I installed JB, and my powerAMP stopped working when the screen is off. I have audio books that ends in .m4b, and I need an app that will play it when the screen is off, and will automatically keep track of where you leave off instead of starting back from the beginning each time you open the app.

Remember its a new build that isn't well supported for most qpps so quirky things may happen ..and as for the audio book thing I'm not sure lol haven't really played with those on jb

I noticed that the volume automatically increases when listening to music using headphones. Doesn't matter the app..it happen with PowerAmp, PlayerPro and even with the stock music player. Have you ever had any kind of problem like this in your GNex?
Is there a way to solve this?
Regards.
Weird. I know this used to happen while I had a faulty Bluetooth keyboard plugged in, but I've never experienced it happening while plugging headphones in. You may need to wipe your device and try a new ROM/start fresh :/ Note: I'd wait for more replies first, as there is probably an easier solution, but if you do decide to go down this route, please make sure you backup first
I've tried to wipe data/factory reset but the problem still happens...even with another custom ROMs
Tks for your advice anyway.

Does it do it gradually, or a big jump when a new song starts? I had the second one happen earlier tonight and I uninstalled DSP Manager and it fixed the issue. IDK if that will help you, but I hope it does.
Good luck!
It's a big jump but it doesn't happen when the music starts independent if the screen is on/off. I'm currently on the stock 4.1.2 ROM and don't have DSP Manager installed in my device. I noticed that the black volume control pop-up doesn't show up on screen when the problem occur...which happens when the volume key is pressed phisically. From what I heard this issue was identified in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353590) although what I'm experiencing is the volume increase (until the max) when listening to music and not the volume change like the thread said. I have an idea. Talking about the thread mentioned, would be possible take a log or use an app to know when the device uses GSM 900 network?
Thanks in advance.

I think you should be able to download an app called catlog to look at the logs in the phone. One of the log view options is the radio log. I'm sure that'll show what band its using when. If that doesn't work you might be able to look at the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) in the dialer. It shows what band the phone is using. I may have the stars and pound sign backwards on that test screen. Hope that helps!
The app you talked about is CatLog - Logcat Reader!, isn't it? (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat&hl=pt_BR). My network type is WCDMA preferred.

Yeah that's the app. If you go to settings and add Radio under the Buffers setting, I would imagine it would show what band you're on. On the test menu, if you'll look under the button that says "Run Ping Test", several lines down it says what network type you're on. Either way should work I think but the log is probably better. It'll give you more detailed info on more than just the band. Just leave the main log buffer selected or you won't see if anything else go wrong on the phone.
FYI, I don't know a tremendous amount on this stuff so some of it I may be wrong on. Hope I'm helping some though.
Is anyone having issues with pandora? I am on the latest firmware from smart switch. My phone is rooted and I have tried it with both stock kernel and with the simple kernel from the international forum. The app freezes up after a few songs when connected through Bluetooth in my truck and the radio tells me to check the internet connection. This happens whether I use the built in pandora app in the radio or just stream it straight from the phone. It also has issues playing from just headphones and speaker. It will play but if I play a couple of songs and then turn the screen on, it will say pandora is not responding and ask to close or wait. I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled, fixed permissions. I just cant seem to figure it out. Its driving me nuts.

Try the following steps and let me know if it works:-
1. Close Pandora
2. Turn on the ultra power saver mode.
3. Once all the apps are updated for the ultra power saver....... just switch back to regular mode..
I tried this and it worked....The worst part is that you need to do it every time pandora freezes
I'm having the same issues where Pandora force closes and freezes up when using Bluetooth on my car as well. I would have to restart my phone after I force stop the app and clear the cache. Seems a little tedious. It's weird because I'm fully stock. No root or anything.. Is this Pandora messing up or a software compatibility issue with Pandora on the GS6 Edge? Never had an issue like this with my GS5.
Are you using adaway? Adaway created several issues for me, from slow page loads to Pandora issues.. Even tethering issues. I'm sure the correct white listing would solve all problems
Sorry I see you're not rooted... So adaway isn't on your device
I've been loving this phone since Saturday but came across an issue that I can't figure out how or why it's happening and to solve it. When I'm downloading a some what large file, I'll turn the screen off and after a certain amount of time Nougant will pause my download. While I love the ability to easily pause and cancel downloads finally, it's getting quite annoying have to check my phone ever 15min to make sure it's still downloading. I'm not sure the length of time yet for it to auto-pause my downloads, but it constantly happens.
Any suggestions on a way around this or how to fix it? Marshmallow didn't do this on my 6p.
Thanks!!

Try going to Settings --> Battery --> (top right 3 dots) --> Battery Optimize --> All Apps --> Downloads --> Do not optimize.
Only thing I can think of is the new Doze and sleep features kick in since they are set automatically to optimize. Try that and see if it helps.

Thanks for the help and to think I thought I've been thru all options. Just went and changed it and will test it out and report back. If it doesn't work, I'll change the Chrome option as well too.
Thanks!
Ended up pausing again so I turned it back on and turned off optimization on Chrome and I'll see what happens.
I've had this problem on a number of Android phones from various manufacturers but haven't found the cure yet. A reboot usually cures it for me.

Appears like changing optimization for chrome fixed the only issue so far!!

I guess that would also make some sense if you are downloading via Chrome. Glad you were able to get it figured out.

Yeah I misspoke, thought it was being controlled by the Downloads app. Thanks to you I was able to get it fixed.
I'm having exact same problem but I have a galaxy note 4.Downloading large files always pauses in chrome and cm browser but it never happens in stock internet app(samsung default browser).
I have whitelisted both browsers but that doesn't solves the problem for me.
Are there any other solutions?

If I just exit Chrome, download still works. If I close out the app, it'll pause and I'll have to go hit resume. Maybe yours is same way?
