Unrooting after Alpharev X - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody.
I have not found any topic or tutorial helping me solve this issue.
I rooted my desire yesterday. Here is what I have done :
1/ RUU --> Original FroYo
2/ AlpharevX --> Original FroYo S-OFF
3/ Unrevoked --> Original FroYo S-OFF + rooted
4/ CyanogenMod 7 --> CM7 S-OFF + rooted rom.
Now, I want to unroot my desire and go back to the original rom AND hboot (I'm stuck to alpharev hboot). How can I do this ?
And btw, is there a solution to replace the AlpharevX hboot with CM7 hboot without bricking the phone in my situation ?
Thanks by advance :]

You will need to go back to the stock HBOOT, to remove the cm7 r2 HBOOT you will need to flash the downgrade .zip found on Alpharevs site, also the stock HBOOT can be found there.
Run the downgrade .zip file in recovery then flash the stock HBOOT the same way that you flashed the cm7 HBOOT.
Download a RRU, there is a list with downloads in the desire dev forums, also it tells you how to run the RRU. That will unroot and s-on your phone back to how it was when you took it out of the box.

Thank you very much for your quick answer. Unfortunately, it does not help me a lot, since I do NOT have the CM7 hboot !
I DO have the AlpharevX hboot, but I WANT the CM7 hboot.
I need a solution that could help me go back to the original HTC hboot (the RUU solution isn't working, I am stuck to the AlpharevX hboot) and the original HTC Sense unrooted rom.
After that, I will be able to flash both CM7 and CM7 hboot properly by following the existing tutorials.
Btw, if someone knows a solution that won't brick my Desire and that will enable me to get CM7 and CM7 hboot in my situation (AlpharevX hboot + CM7), it would be much appreciated.
Was I clear enough ?
Thanks by advance

Now on your phone, goto settings>about phone>software then look for your baseband version and build version. Use that information to find your RUU file here:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/ and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
Download .zip RUU file
I used PB99IMG_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_r elease_159811_signed.zip
move it to the sd card, rename it PB99IMG.zip and flash it in bootloader
also "RUU rom will erase your root, s-off, apps, contacts, sms messages, and call history. The RUU will not touch anything you have saved to your sdcard such as music, photos, or videos."
hope it helps

[Q] revert phone to S-On and Stock radio for repair

Hi.
i have to send my DHD back to HTC because my power button died. If you have any advice how to fix that I'd be grateful but that's not the main issue.
I have eng S-Off and and the following rom:
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
can you tell me how to set my phone back to S-ON and to stock radio?
I have a backup of the stock rom, if i need it.
Thanks in advance.
Flash a stock Rom ruu
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I flashed:
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R2_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release_163262_signed
but I still have Eng S-Off and the flashed radio
flash your original ruu and use the same tool you used to get s-off to back s-on... done
i
f you don't have (or it doesn't exist) your original RUU, follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10378829&postcount=696
your old flashed radio is the same of your stock rom... this part is done
- now you need to root your phone with visionary tool.
- use the one click tool by jkoljo to back to s-on,
- then unroot your device.
- uninstall visionary
- DONE
the tool (if you delete it from your pc) can be downloaded from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
thanks guys.

[Q] S-off questions

I have been planning to s-off my desire for weeks now, i have some questions just in case i dont brick my phone.
1. i am using coolsense hd v10 rom, is it ok to s-off? or do i need the stock rom
2. if i nid the stock rom, can i just flash the ruu and root again, then s-off
3. can i s-off using alpharev via vmware
4. how to prevent alpharev from changing my splash screen

Are you serious?
what u mean
It doesn't matter, which rom you are using. I used the CD-method to S-Off my Desire, but I think it should also work using vmware.
You can't prevent alpharev from changing your splash screen, but there are tools in this forum, which allow you to change it to whatever you want afterwards.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
You can change the splash screen with Android Flasher - It can be found in the Developement sub-forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
If you need a stock ROM, then you can either flash the RUU (You lose Root, S-Off) or flash a pre-rooted stock ROM (can be found in the Developement sub-forum).
S-Off via VMWare can be done, but if you are stuck use the USB or CD method instead (people reported issues with VMWare).
dont try to do S-OFF unless you are running stock rooted ROM
best is to run a RUU, then root, then go s-off
if you try to S-OFF while on a2sd+ or data2xxx rom, procedure will fail, and it might brick your phone (it fails after going past STEP3 - DONT UNPLUG YOUR P_HONE OR U WILL BRICK IT) but i unplugged it, and was ok, then RUU and again whole thing worked
I had problems with s-off on my stock sense rom (rooted).
I made a goldcard, rooted, then alpharev would not recognise my device.
Soon as I switched to rooted aosp rom (oxygen) it was fine!

Just flash stock rooted froyo, done the trick for me.
OP, just search for how to s-off, there are answers to all you questions available. I know that, as i only recently s-offed myself.
So, can i do this?
1. do nandroid backup
2. use froyo asia wwe ruu(im from singapore)
3. root with unrevoked
4. s-off with vmware
5. restore
But err, one question, if i was damn unlucky and brick my device, can i just use the RUU and restore it back?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069600
Just follow the guide on the thread. If you brick your device, there is no way back. That's why its called brick. There are semi bricks, which can be fixed.

hi my HTC Desire says PVT1 S-OFF already
this make any difference between AlphaRev S-off?? or i need to go through this method also??
Just install a rom without A2SD (like Leedroid 2.4.1 no-A2SD or Teppic's rom) and then you can S-OFF your desire. I advice you to write the .img on a cd and then boot on this, you won't encounter any issue.
Afterwards you can apply a new splash on your Desire, like the stock one (which is available on alpharev website).

[Q] Revolutionary hboot - need to return to stock

I've done a lot of reading and see where Alpharev has a hboot downgrader but does this work with CDMA version BravoC?
I rooted using Revolutionary after having hboot 1.06 for a USCC Desire. Phone is out of standard warranty but I need to send phone in for repair under extended warranty. When I flash 2.2 RUU it cannot roll back hboot version.
Thanks!
I still haven't found anything. Thanks for the help.
what was your original Hboot number?
see alpharev page, if your model is supported try this -
flash HBOOT bravo_downgrader and right after that run appropriate RUU wich contains default hboot to protect extended warranty
as a result of this process you become S-ON again with stock Hboot
i think this may work even for CDMA version but i am not 100% sure
google it and you will find the answer
Here is about GSM Desire...
Actually I just use revolutionary to s-off my phone and it work. I test several new ROMs right now, then I try to flash stock ROM back when found this thread. I can flash the RUU HTC Froyo successfully. but...
the hboot is not overwritten. it still revolutionary. I am very sure the stock ROM I use contain hboot. because I can see it upgrade my hboot from 0.8.000 to 0.93.0001 during I flash this ROM before I s-off it yesterday.
revolutionary claim that we can get the original hboot if we flash stock ROM that contain hboot but it not working for me. maybe you need to tell them about this.

[8]STILL S-OFF AFTER RUU
"I want to return my phone for warranty, I used a RUU but I'm still S-OFF"
Cause:
- Alpharev's Hboots are write protected, so that they can not be overwritten by a RUU
HOW TO S-ON
METHOD 1#
[STEP1]- Visit Alpharev and download the "Downgrader"
[STEP2]- Flash the downgrader over fastboot. This can be done with Android Flasher, cmd, or fastboot commander (Note: android flasher is the only program that does not require third party software such as Android SDK or Java JDK)
[STEP3]- You should now notice the title on the bootloader screen is "Alpharev Unlock", run the RUU again and you will have S-ON'd your device.
#METHOD 2#
[STEP1]- Instead of running the RUU again, and putting your phone at risk once more, you can simply upgrade just the bootloader manually, with the PB99IMG.zip method.
[PHASE1]- we need to extract rom.zip from the RUU.
[P1/STEP1]- Run the RUU (BUT DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE OR CONTINUE), move it to the side as it cannot be minimised.
[P1/STEP2]- go to start menu, and use the "run" feature. Type in %temp%
[P1/STEP3]- select "date modified" to "today" (to make it easier to find). There are should now be 2 folders with long names of random characters.
[P1/STEP4]- search the folders for rom.zip and extract it to the desktop.
[P1/STEP5]- delete everything EXCEPT "hboot_8x50_0.93.0001_20100810.nb0" and "android-info.txt"
[P1/STEP6]- rename the zip to PB99IMG.zip (make sure it is not PB99IMG.zip.zip)
[PHASE2]- now we need to update the bootloader
[P2/STEP1]- put the file in the ROOT of your sd-card (not in any file or folder) and boot into bootloader (poweroff, hold VOLUME DOWN and POWER). After a few seconds, you will be prompted to update bootloader. Select Yes. DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS, OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
[P2/STEP2]- Once the process is finished, you will now be S-ON.

back from 1.03.0003 to another one

Hello, i have unlocked my phone with htc official tool, and it have installed a 1.03.0003 hboot. Now I want to flash a custom rom. But it is possible to "undo" all and go back to a 0.93 hboot for flashing (example) cm7 based roms?
Thanks
NO...i think....
Apparently it is possible to gain root access, but about changing hboot I'm not so sure if revolutionary team would bother with it. In summary - fail.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk.
in fact, i am now able only to install stock hboot custom roms, like ics beta.. revolutionary tool works only with 1.02 hboot, at the moment.. I have tried goldcard, flash old hboot with fastboot, but nothing.. Hope someone will be able to "delete" this hboot...

[Q] HTC Desire HELP!!!!!

Hi guys.Sry if i post wrong.I have a problem.I have a HTC DESIRE stock rom 2.3.3 rooted. The phone is S-OFF.So i wanted to unroot. The gingerbread ruu is installing but the phone is stil S-OFF.How can i get to froyo 2.2 stock rom?
I did understand that i need the stock bootloader then flash the stock 2.2 ruu.But i cant find this stock bootloader.
I am very very sorry.I done it.I got the s-on back.
If you want to unroot you need to do this.
1.Download from alpharev.nl the Bravo Stock(PB99IMG_stock - easy to install;only remove to PB99IMG and get in bootloader - volume down + power button) and the Bravo Downgrader (the PB99IMG_downgrade thing;you need to to the same to it.
You will get HBOOT 6.93.9999(i dont remember;it is the 9999 thing in the end) and S-OFF
2.Now download a stock RUU (android 2.3.3 in my case) and install it
3.Get in bootloader and you will now see 1.02.0001(in my case) and the hboot will be S-ON
I think you can install any RUU like 2.2.
Remember that sometimes(if the RUU is old) you will need to create a goldcard
Sorry for poor english, tutorial and the links(i am new here). This tutorial is not mine. All credits goes to "bortak".
