My rooCASE finally arrived today in the mail and thought I would put up some initial impressions.
First, I bought it on Amazon from PC Microstore for $34.95 + 8.70 for shipping. I waited for weeks for the black version to become available but after 2 delays, I got lucky with the graphite being in stock.
Impressions:
Case
The case is very well made, nice gray leather with a strong metal zipper. Front and back are hard and provide good protection. The back has a collapsible kickstand thats sits pretty flush with the case and secures via a strong magnet. The interior is felt lined with two smaller pockets on the inside that would fit something like a 3x5 notecard. The larger will fit something the size of the Xoom.
Cover
Same nice leather as the case. There are cutouts for everything; dock, Sim/SD(tight fit), volume rocker, cameras speaker, etc. The back has two circular velcro pieces for attaching to the inside of the case for both portrait and landscape view. The Xoom slides through the bottom of the case and secures with velcro on the inside of the cover itself, no flaps are exposed.
The Xoom with the cover fits like a glove inside the case, zero sliding around.
Overall I am impressed with the build quality and there is no comparison to the CaseCrown I own.
I checked Amazon and it is showing May 6th as an in stock date. I suggest checking daily as that's how I got mine, pure luck
I've been looking for a case and this is the one I've decided on getting... just gotta wait for it to be back in stock.
Thanks for the review!
Nice pictures, thanks. The actual PCMicroStore.com has them in stock, black and grey, for same price if anyone is looking. I'm still debating between this and Otterbox. The pockets would be nice for some paper and a stylus though.

Beat me to the review! I also got my Black rooCase in yesterday and it fits like a glove. Everything is tight and all ports, speakers, buttons are accessible. Quality seems really good.

They must have recently got them in as I checked right before purchasing from Amazon. The case serves its purpose for my needs and having something that keeps it protected during usage while storing it after is a win, win in my book.

Amazon is now showing May 3rd. I was going to order one, but then I saw this thread:
Coming Soon - Official Keyboard Folio Case
I'll probably be waiting for this case+keyboard instead. The rooCase looks awesome though.
Purchased the case thru Amazon... picked standard shipping, which said 3-8 days, and it took all 8 of those days. I'm not cheap...I just thought maybe I'd be on the closer to the 3 days then the 8... I guess they really did put it on a pony.
Anyway... it's very nice. The Xoom fits nice and snug and it's very professional looking. I'm happy with it.... place to keep a couple of my biz cards, a few notes, pen, etc. Definitively worth the money.
I love my XOOM, but I am not a fan of cases. When I use it I want to hold the item, not a thick shell or rubber casing surrounding it. I recently purchased the Switcheasy TRIG case for ipad, but it wouldn't really stay closed since it was made before the XOOM came out. I just bought the Kroo Wrapper case instead, since it has the same design but uses velcro. If requested I can post pics of the Kroo case when it comes in next week. Anyone else come across any good sleeve/stand combo's that the XOOM would fit well in?

Please post pics of the case when it comes in, i have a leather folio that i use now. I feel the same way you do when i want to use the xoom i want to hold the item i bought instead of a case that adds considerable thickness.
it will probably be very similiar to the switcheasy, but hopefully will stay closed since it at least says its sized for the XOOM. i'll do some comparison pics when it comes in next week.
Kroo Case
The Kroo case came in and the pics are below. the case is much skinnier and doesn't look like a puffy jacket anymore. its also not shiny, and has a nice faux-leather look to it. the velcro is also better than the buttons in my eyes. this one is a keeper for me! below are some pics of both the new and old cases (first 4 are the new one, second 4 are the old).
I'd recommend this case for anyone who wants a case/stand that isn't also a sleeve;

Hi thanks for the pics... can't quite work out how the case works to "wrap" the xoom from your them... any chance of a few more just to show how it works?
Also struggling to find a UK/EU supplier

looks OK but nothing beats the versatility of the ZooGue case imo

Looks nice, but could we fold the cover flap fully to the back, in case we want to hold the tab in book reading mode
I just ordered one of those from amazon.
Bad thing is that for me, shipping was even more expensive (15$) than the cover itself (14$)...
I think you can fold the cover flap fully to the back, in case you want to hold the tab in book reading mode. Take a look at a video on youtube about this case, but ipad version. Search for "Review: Acase Slim Leather Folio Case with Stand for iPad 2".
doesn't look like it. there's no crease on the front cover like the ipad case i have.
i bought one earlier and it should be here next week. now i'll have a matching set for my ipad, gt7 and gt10.1.

Aw man, didn't see that. If only it is a mistake with the pictures and the cover we receive is OK... I think that crease helps you type on the best position. Well, you know better that you have the I pad version.
you can rest the bottom on the "latch" and put in a slightly upraised position. i just find it a little too bouncy when doing that while typing.
I have the same case for my 7" Galaxy Tab and am very happy with it. The quality is that of a much more expensive case. If I had not already bought another case I would be picking one of these up.
Unless I am seeing it wrong in the photos the problem with this case is that you have to constantly detach it from the BOTTOM HALF of the TAB to use it in a tilted position. This is how that $90 Zenus brand carbon fiber case I bought and returned worked. It was a real PITA plus it will eventually wear the paint off the tab.
i prefer that than the extra thickness (like belkin folio case). i haven't had any chipping or scratching on either of my other tablet's yet, but i did bend all those tabs a bit after getting them to make it easier to pull out. i even loosened the cover latches a bit too.
I'm looking for a case that will support the tab (folio style or the like) yet have the cut out or designed in a way to have access to the headphone jack and dock port.
I would really like to load movies onto a SD card and watch them via the USB host adapter. However, I will be doing this mostly in places that will need headphones. Also will need a case that supports the tab so I don't have to hold it. (Thanks Samsung, for this little inconvenience)
Anyone see anything that will make this possible?
I would like this as well. Most cases give headphone access but that port connector location kinda sucks. We almost need a case with a build in port connector that has a wire oud the side....perhaps detachable.
Ya.. I've been looking at cases for an hour and now resorted to looking on ebay.
That dock connector is seriously in a bad spot.
I could really care less about the case, but I care greatly about not having to hold the darn thing up with my hand while I'm using it. This includes while watching movies or showing someone pictures I just took.
Trying to add a support solution without adding the case would be an option...
I have the ACase Folio, which I am very happy with. When I want to use the Tab with something plugged into the dock connector, I fold the ACase cover all the way back and stand the Tab on the Rabbit Portable Stand and Holder, $10 on ebay, shipped, at http://cgi.ebay.com/Rabbit-Portable-Stand-and-Holder-iPad-Galaxy-Tablet-PC-/220772954466
The stand is just wide enough to accomodate the USB adapter (as well as the USB cable). Works great for me.
Thanks, I've seen the rabbit stand and it's the best stand of that type IMO. However it's just one more thing to carry. Add that to a bumpy plane ride and I'm still looking for a case that does it.
I just got the Belkin slim from Best Buyer, and it's going back.

The Rabbit Stand comes in two pieces, that you interlock to use (see first picture attached). When not using, one of the pieces fits flat into the other, and the two pieces fit flat into a seal-able baggie that comes with the stand (see second picture). Would take up minimal space in your carry on for traveling.
For bumpy plane rides, you could use velcro to attach the stand to the Tab or a Tab case.
(I have no connection to the Rabbit Stand or the ebay seller. It just happens to be the only good solution I have found to using the Tab in landscape mode with the USB adapter plugged in, and a good one at that.)
Oh yea baby ill give you full access. That what she said she really did.

Hey guys, I HIGHLY recommend this one from Amazon:
rooCASE Multi-Angle (Black) Leather Folio Case Cover for Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi
I cant link to it yet, since this is my first post!!
I got it from Amazon last week after using the Belkin one for a few days. It's $43. but it's really worth the investment!!
The pouch is detachable from the Case itself so that it can stand portrait position AND landscape position. It attaches to the case by two large Velcro circles.
You can flip it around so that the charger faces out and the case closes while charging. Or you can leave it with the port on the bottom and move the Tab up (in landscape position) and the cord runs along the inside spine of the case while it charges.
Check out the specs and more details at Amazon.com
Executive Portfolio Leather Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7510
Built-In Stand for Comfortable Viewing at 45 Degree Angle. Detachable Inner Sleeve for Handheld Operation;
Business and ID Slots with Accessory Flap. Elastic Loop for Pen or Stylus. Dual Zipper for Easy Access.
Access to All Ports and Controls.
A MUST Have for all GALAXY Tab 10.1 Owners!! Available in Black, Magenta and Red. Search: rooCASE Galaxy Tab 10.1 Executive Portfolio
Reattaches by Velcro for Landscape / Portrait Viewing. (Galaxy Tab NOT Included)
(NOT Compatible with Galaxy Tab 7, 8.9 and 10.1v P7100 European Edition)
If you are concerned about thinness and slimness, this isnt for you. This REALLY makes you look like an Executive!!
I saw this. It's just too thick for my liking.
I could have dealt with it, but the fact that you're always going to have a keyboard sized front cover in front of the TAB was a deal killer.
At first, I thought about that, but then I quickly realized that I wasn't. I guess the Tab distracted me too much I can't ignore the extra protection & stability it provides though. My stylus doesn't roll too far either and is easy to find on my desk which is also black (and the lights are dimmed for a little "Table-
Hopefully someone will develop one for those users who prefer a slimmer form factor which has the functionality & accessibility of this one. The port cant be moved so they should definitely take a closer look when designing them. If they put it on the other side, then it would be waaayy to similar to that "other" device, which shall remain nameless.
J
RooCase is AWESOME from Amazon! so many different ways to set it up its impossible to not have your desired configuration. Unless like someone else said you bought this tab for the sole fact of it being thinner than the thing that soaks up my woman's monthly friend. Just goes to show you that Apple will suck you dry!
Okay, so I'm wondering if this exists: a book style case for the Galaxy Tab that doesn't add a lot of bulk, but does fold over to allow it to be used as a stand.
I have a GTab 10.1 LTE, and a XOOM 4G, and I'm trying to decide which to keep. I prefer the size and weight of the Galaxy Tab, but the XOOM came with a really great case that doubles as a stand. The Galaxy Tab came with something similar, but it's so thick and sloppy that I might as well be carrying the XOOM for all the weight savings I actually get. Is there anything equivalent for the Galaxy Tab that doesn't make it chunky?

Yeha, go for the official one. A wonderful case - Adds almost no bulk, fits perfectly and its very high quality. I love mine, and it was worth every cent.
I use the same one , but

I'm using the same original case from Samsung, my tab is white and here comes the problem. The internal lining for the case causes black color on the back of my tab which is very hard to remove. I use my original perfume with high quality cloth and pushes very hard to remove this coloration from the stupid case.

I use this case, its some fake leathery material, holds the tab very nice and tight, everything fits perfectly, and its pretty slim for the material its is
Closes with a magnet, which is unfindable on the cover xD
and it can be used as a stand, very nice. and cheap!

+1 on this case. Best one on the market. Its a generic branded by several sellers, so you might search to find it a bit cheaper.
I'm using a "smart cover" style case. not really versatile or transformable, but i do like the one posted above. looks like a great stand for desk/table use. i might have to order that
