Okay, so I'm about to trade my phone with another xda user. I was hoping for an upfront trade, but I live in hawaii, so that's kind of an impossibility. How should I go about doing this?

Make him pay first with PayPal. He is then protected by there guarantee. And you have the money, so you don't have to worry when sending it.

I'm thinking he wouldn't put his money on the line if he doesn't think id already sent it. And once I've sent the phone, he could easily screw me over by not following through xP

Id still be losing out though. Id rather not send it if I knew id be sending it to become a piece of trash/paperwieght. It just costs too much to get a new phone. I have a backup g1 but... I'm not taking that out of storage until I really have to xD

An old forum I visited had a sale mediator. You both send to 3rd party (usually it was forum owner) he'd check out both, make sure all is kosher then forward on to new owner.

I'm trading my g2 for a mt4g. its not cause of the hype around it or anything. I actually did everything humanly possible to stay away from it xD I just want a bigger screen is all.

I'm from hawaii too but I mean you want to exchange your G2 for a MT4G? You should be posting this to MT4G thread cause we both have the same phone and btw I was planning to do this to get MT4G for FFC but I changed my mind I did it by posting at craigslist oahu, ill try look for the guys number

I did post it in the mt4g thread. I'm here asking how I should proceed with the trade, because the man interested lives in texas. I tried craigslist but people are vicious there. One scratch on your phone and its instantly an unfair trade.

Ok I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I just got my Droid incredible about 2 months ago. I bought the extended warranty and now that there not selling it anymore can I still get the same phone if something happened to it a few months down the road? The thing is, the stream of CLNRs in the warranty channel is self-perpetuating and isn't going to dry up anytime soon.
Really depends on if they have any in-stock or not. If they still have them in stock, then you'll get the same one back. Otherwise, like the others said, you're going to get a different phone that's "supposedly" equal value.
How are everyone planning to upgrade wen the new 3d comes out. My full upgrade is 2 years, which would be next year. Hows that work?

I had sprint for like a three months and they gave me a free upgrade randomly.Its been six months since and in just about to use it for the 3D. Never found out why they gave me it, didn't really ask questions.

I am going to use my upgrade for the 2nd phone. They said even though my first phone is technically the one that is supposed to get the upgrade, I can just transfer it to the 2nd line

It's not always so easy. When my wife had the crappy samsung moment, it took me sending in that phone 5 times for a warranty replacement and them wanting to give me an even crappier phone. BBB did the trick

I'm eligible for a $75 discount, but not a $75 upgrade AFAIK.
Regardless, I'm not ready to move to the 3D until a few good devs go and the device is proven in the wild. They're really banking on the bleeding edge and the gimmick crowd on this one. I'm sure there will be something even better closer to when we're all due for a full upgrade next year.
Yea im not upgradin either, especially with these sense 2.1/3.0 roms comin out, really no reason. By next year though im thinking our evos wont be able to handle the roms, so I might upgrade to something new.

I just realized I qualified for an upgrade since april. I was thinking it was in augest.
Anyway, I wanna buy a new phone. I really don't want to sell my epic because I love it and I just want a new phone to keep on the side and not to actually use. So my number would stay on the epic and I would get a newer phone for my music and games and stuff. I don't think anyone would do this but I am lol I need my keyboard.
So I was thinking gs3 or epic touch.
But just incase I have to pay an amount of money that I don't have and I would have to give up my epic to get a newer phone would sprint buy this phone from me for a reasonable price? Like let's say $100?

I think Sprint will give your around $30-35 dollars.
You will get much more if you sell it online or some such.
You can use your upgrade to get a new Phone, probably around $200, and just not activate it, and then you can keep using your Epic.

Ya I was thinking I may sell it online. And I also have an extra battery for it. Its the same as its stock one.
I'm going to go to the sprint store sometime soon and see what phones they have there and what they offer.
if I have to sell my phone to get a new one I may sell it for about $100. Ill let you know if you want it. And yes its in perfect condition I don't remember dropping it not even once and everything works.

Depends on condition as well I know I can get 45$ for mine that's with the small dent on the bottom and surface scratch marks.

The upgrade discount is only valid if it's activated on a renewed contract. No activation means no discount.

After you activate a new/upgrade account, that phone must remain active on that line for 6 months. (might be 3) This is why I use GVoice. I have 4 lines and me and wifey trade up renewals with 2 of the lines.

Sprint doesn't allow buy backs of any of their devices which have dirty ESNS. Corporate retail employees who do this sort of thing can and will be subjected to disciplinary action of up to and including termination of employment. I know this personally from seeing about half a dozen of employees in our DM's market promoted to customer. You have to remember people that Sprint has a report on just about anything you do in RMS and are able to drill down to employee ID level.
They wanted to give me $60 for mine when I upgraded, but I decided to keep it and try selling it for a little more private.

Maybe I'll ship you mine to sell ....I've been upgrade eligible since may but I like my phone. When I do upgrade I'm keeping my epic as backup instead of tep. if anything happens to new phone after first year I'll break this bad boy back out.

But seriously if I get an upgrade I have to use that phone for the first 6 months??? I can't believe that cuz they can't just tie me to one phone. What if I bought another phone I'm not allowed to use that?
I was really wanting to buy the g23. But I think the epic touch wouldn't be bad either. And its 100 dollars cheaper. But its a shame that both the epic and the epic touch cost 100 with a new contract lol.

Man I haven't been on here in a while. Glad to see everyone still hanging around.
So I went off the deep in I let my wife use the Inc2. She traded it for a iPhone. So I was stuck using my BOLD. Well it made its way into the toilet. I then got a IPhone. Today I traded my IPhone 4 8gb for a mint condition Galaxy Nexus.
Haven't quite gotten use to the size yet. Haven't even got it rooted yet.

So the verdict is in. I miss my inc2 guys. The nexus is a great device but I just can't get use to the size. I just don't know if I can give up 4g lol. Trying to find somebody local who might be interested in trading. (To the moderators. That was not me asking for trades on here.) I would do the marketplace on here but I don't have a get me by during shipping phone. If anybody knows anyone in the upstate sc area shoot me a pm.
