[Review] EpikCas.es Clear Frost TPU Case - Atrix 4G Accessories

Last Thursday I received a case from here, but there was a lot going on that day so I was delayed in posting pics and a review. Here's the goods:

The other cases, for comparison, are the Rearth Ringke in black and an argyle style TPU I got off Amazon. The Ringke case was awesome in the beginning- fit with the car dock with insert removed, worked with the standard dock with alternate cover plate, had a decent grip to it...but just stretched out over time and got to be annoying. The argyle TPU I got when I first got the phone, but it didn't work with the docks at all and showed fingerprints very easily. So I figured I would give this one a try.
The pros:
-the two-tone style is kinda catchy, the matte finish section gives it an interesting feel
-it's a little less bulky than the other TPU case
-doesn't really show any fingerprints
-pretty tight fit, feels pretty sturdy
-most ports easily accessible (volume rocker a little tricky) and it's easier to swipe your finger on the biometrics scanner than the other TPU I've used
The cons:
-not that easy to get off, if you prefer docking without a case or to remove SIM and external SD for frequent flashing.
-not a fit with docking, although you could press firmly enough to register, it's not reliable
-the front lip offsets a bit at the charge/hdmi ports because the material is thinner at that spot, the only area that the case doesn't cover the edge of the screen protector
-doesn't cover the volume rocker, and it is not that easy to acces
All in all, if you aren't one for silicone/jelly cases and you don't use the docks, this would be a very good case for you. It seems pretty rugged for a TPU case, I am not nervous about the phone staying protected with it on. I'm going to rock it for a while, I'll update if I think of anything else.

i was thinking about getting this one too, not the frost one just the black. I decided not to because the ports look porely cut out, etc. that sucks, it is a unique cause though! thanks

I have two of this style case - blue and black - i like them both, but i like the Seidio Active case MUCH MUCH better - full access to all ports, and the biometric scanner is not interfered with AT ALL!! Not to mention MUCH better protection.

Glossy black TPU case from eBay

Ok so i have tried a bunch of various cases from lots of eBay sellers. I tried the white, hard snap on 2 piece case that's rubberized and had good access to buttons but was a beeyotch to remove and got dirty fast. Couldn't be cleaned either and the rubber coating wore off.
trashed that.
got a clear TPU case from Dealextreme. fit ok, but the cutouts were wrong and blocked the ports. its the same as the S style ones on ebay. they also have knurled grip on the side, but was too hard and uncomfortable to grip for extended time. buttons were HARD to press.
then i got a typical white silicone case (cuz i like white) but that was too mushy and loose fitting like all silicone cases.
Finally i just recieved a glossy black TPU case from eBay seller "exati_technologies" .
this one is almost perfect and the best one by far. it is very thin and fits perfectly. glossy black finish made of TPU plastic/rubber whatever. generously sized openings for button access and charging ports (i hate covered buttons) so your phone may be more succeptable to scratches.
no weird designs on back just shiny blackness. the camera opening has a slightly raised border.
the only thing that could make it better is that it is a finger print magnet of biblical proportions (matte finish may be better), and it doesn't have a kickstand.
basicly same as this one.

photos taken with my iPhone 4...forgive me...
feels like the phone is wearing nothing at all... nothing at all...nothing at all....stupid sexy Flanders.
Nice simpsons reference =). The case looks almost exactly like the Diztronic/Tpu-Cases one but cheaper, which is a good thing! Personally I like my buttons covered so I cant scratch the bezel. It does make the buttons harder to press but you get used to it and lessens the chance of pressing them accidentally.
Funny.. I'm the opposite and like the buttons exposed...
ReDz
Yeah i got this TPU case and have the same problem i had to cut a little so it wouldnt be hard to press... the case was nice but same problem as the others that sale from ebay
I've been looking up different cases and your post was extremely helpful.
I bought the white one for my white Galaxy, and it is totally legit. It's not bulky at all, adds a good grip, and has yet to get dirty.

Spigen Slim Armor 14.95
Great Feel
Great Fit 100% everything lines up nice.
No kickstand
Nice Look good colors to
Button feel really good.
Seems well protected
not easy to take off it feels like it's going to break a button
Kaycase with kickstand 14.95
Very slim for a case with a kickstand only added thickness is because of the kickstand.
Feels plasticy, kind of Cheap, but the grip with the ridges is nice.
Fit is good everything lines up,
Buttons are hard to press, that's because of the not so rubber case, like i said feels kind of plasticy
Kickstand is Good ,nothing that's going to fall apart, only one angle
It doesn't seem like it's well protected
i-Blason Armor Box 14.99
The case is definitely rugged and well built
Doesn't really fit 100% seems loose when put into the case
Buttons are nice and easy to press, it has a nice rubber feel when holding it
only 1 cut-out for the screen protector, So i used my own screen protector, and then the case didn't seem to fit at all.
Had to cut off the charging port protector, because of to much pressure on the plug.
Greatshield Legacy series 11.95
Well build nice rubber feel from hard case and soft rubber inside
Fit is 100% nice and tight
Screen protector has all cut-outs
Kickstand feels cheap like it could break off however it snaps back in pretty easy
good colors to choose from.
Really nice profile with kickstand and seems like it could take a pretty good drop.
The winner is the Greatshield number two is Spigen I couldn't stand having my phone in either Kaycase or i-blanson
Reason
The hard case wraps around to the front, it's 11.95 shipped, and when pulling off the case it doesn't really put any pressure on the buttons... Easy on/off for cleaning.

Sophisticase Frameless Case Review

Thanks to MobileFun for providing me with the Sophisticase Frameless Case, they have a large range of accessories for any mobile/tablet device especially the nexus 7 so it is worth checking them out
The case is slim overall and has a fake leather textured finish on the outside and on the inside we have a grey soft touch fabric. All of the buttons and ports are accessible.

As you can see, we also have a hand strap.
Fitting the nexus 7 is very easy, the fit overall is pretty much perfect, you are able to remove the case quickly if needed.
One of the areas that I really like about this case is that you can use it as a desk stand, there are two angles to choose from that make it perfect for video watching.
The case is pretty light.
Another feature I love is that the case is compatible with the sleep and wake function of the nexus 7 i.e. when you open the case, the screen automatically turns on and when you close the case, the screen goes off.
In terms of protection, it is great for protection from scrapes and minor knocks but I wouldn't expect it to do too well come to high drops onto concrete...
Conclusion:
Overall this is a fantastic case especially when you consider the price! It might not be the best for protection from high drops but it will protect the nexus 7 tablet from the majority of small drops, scrapes and most importantly protect the screen from scratches. If you are wanting more protection, you will just have to put up with the extra bulk and weight from the likes of the Trident Aegis Case and Seidio Dilex Case.
I can't really fault this case at all except for the speaker cut outs, they are poorly done and cover most of the speaker grille holes.
Pros:
Cheap
Acts as a landscape desk dock with two angles to choose from
Minimal bulk & light
Nice finish overall
Sleep/Wake magnet function
Cons:
Speaker cut outs poorly done
Looks exactly like the $5 Moko case I bought back in July...
Sums it up nicely.

Ebestsale Transparent Silicone Case Review

Two cases arrived at my door today and I quickly opened them. The Ebestsale Transparent Silicone Case is actually a TPU case and not silicone. This case is made of the exact same material as the previous case I reviewed, but has its own differences.
The package came with one screen protector, one piece of cloth and the other case I ordered from this company. After bending this TPU case, I quickly noticed that it is much sturdier than the previous Walsontop TPU case. It is not very easy to deform as drastically as the Walsontop. Putting this on the One gave one of the most satisfactory sounds I look for when fitting anything into something else, the snap. This case clicks on the One and fits very well. It fits so well that you can still feel the sturdiness of the One. There isn't a mushy feel that I get when using rubber cases.
While it provides a great fit, removing it will chalk up the sandstone black's back plate. It's no worry as you can rub it down to erase it, but it may get difficult to remove it without experiencing many of these soft scratches (Baby Skin White users will not experience this).
The slots for all the ports on the side are much larger and more comfortable then the previous Walsontop TPU case. The power button and volume buttons are much more comfortable to press, but not perfect. The rubber around the slots do not move around very easily and quickly return to its original position if it's disturbed. It seems that the company that manufactured this case spent more time cutting the holes for the ports. Each one is cut in irregular asymmetrical shapes whereas the Walsontop's holes were all symmetrical.
The sides are raised and cover more of the bezel which is great when taking damage from certain heights. After doing what I call a "quarter test", where I place a quarter under the screen and move the phone, the quarter remains stationary. It's difficult to see any of the fingerprints on the sides in my case because the blue color hides it well. As far as I know, this blue is the only color Ebestsale sells for this type of case. Overall, this case was a great buy and perhaps the one that will be on my phone if the Nikilin hard case arriving tomorrow doesn't change that. This case is definitely worth more than it costs.

Pros: Fits very well - Sturdy - Great Port Holes - Overlaps bezels well
Cons: Difficult to remove - Will Scuff Sandstone Back

looks decent, ordered mine from aliexpress for like $1.35
I really don't like how easy it is to scuff the sandstone back

I think that is going to be a major cosmetic issue with our phones. Imagine how the back will look after 12 months of serious use.

[Review] Nillkin Clear Gray, Nillkin Flip Cover, Amzer Black Soft Gel TPU

I got my phone from Amazon on release day, and bought the Amzer black TPU first, then I ordered the others. I've given each one about a week of use, so here's my thoughts.
I also have a screen protector, and I'll give ya my two cents.
Links, All purchased from Amazon.

For me none of them were really good enough to say without a doubt this is the best ever.
1. The Amzer tpu
Pros' - Great fit nice and tight, cut outs work well, nice lip on front, I really like the feel and the grip and the thickness makes me feel like there's some protection for drop survival. Doesn't really add bulk nice and slim.
Con's - None, really just a preference of taste.
2. Nillkin Flip Case
Pro's - Good fit, I really like the Zen Circle it works really well, Has OK protection, doesn't really add bulk. When opened I like the tilt, almost as nice as a kickstand.
Con's - No cut out's for sensors or front cam, so when you go outside the Zen circle doesn't work in direct light (I might try a hole puncher and mod the case). Plastic feel, really the grip is just OK. No magnet clip so the flap just dangles. To bad I really like the Zen Circle.
3. Nillkin Clear Gray TPU
Pro's - Nice fit , cut outs are perfect, nice small lip on front, I love the feel and the grip, power and earphone covers are really nice, and the raised button for volume and power actually add to the phone. Clear color shows off the phone.
Con's - This is such a slim case that I'm worried about drops, and because it's so slim it's not really that tight, I've had stuff already get between the case and phone.
4. Screen protector
Works as good as any, all cut outs are perfect, and it has good thickness for scratch protection.
Conclusion
Nillkin need to rip off the cover from the flip and add it to the TPU, make some cut out's for the senors and cam add a CC slot in the flip cover. Then you'll have the best case ever.
