Does anybody know how to disable the clock wallpaper when using the dock? I can't seem to find anything on the Settings for it.
As for the multimedia dock, I got it because I use the tablet a lot for playing music... and I figured it would be nice to charge it while doing some browsing without having to hold the tablet.

I have looked all over the place trying to find an app that would control windows media player or winamp or something of that nature via bluetooth. All the apps i have tried dont work. Anybody seen or heard of anything of this nature ? If not is anybody feeling froggy and would like to develop such an app.Id definitely throw some money your way if you managed to get it working. Basic controls such as rewind, fast forward play pause stop volume up/down. A bonus would be to see the playlist on the phone and be able to choose any song to play (basically emulating the "jump to file" feature of winamp). If we could get this to work on a htc hero that would definitely be worth a large sum of money.
EDIT: I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section for this but i did not see an "APP Development" thread.
ummm.... Gmote2, its been around since G1 days and works great as a media player controller, as well as a trackpad and keyboard.
Is there a reason you specifically want it to be bluetooth and not wifi?

Ive tried it and you have to see the mouse to control the pc and also if you use screen capture its not very smooth or efficient.

And i want it bluetooth bcuz i dont always have my laptop with my home wifi. And i have not been able to pair ad hoc between the laptop and phone. Bluetooth is fast enough to create such an efficient app and keep it highly mobile at the same time.
Is anyone as annoyed with the car dock as I am. Maybe I just have a bum unit but here is my experience:
When I first got the car dock, I got in the car, fired up a song in the music plater and then dropped it in the dock. This made the music stop. I went back into the player but now that it's in landscape the stock music player is useless.
I went ahead and moved to WinAmp to get around this but now I'm finding that I drop the phone into the dock and it fires up CarDock. I exit car dock, go into WinAmp and play my music.
Then as I'm driving around (and it's very random) the phone will start to go to sleep, then wake back up, then flip back into CarDock, then back out of CarDock, then everything goes mute and I get an icon in the notification bar that looks like a music icon with a slash through it. I press the volume buttons and it says the volume is all the way up but I hear nothing. If I leave the phone alone, sometimes 5 mins later all of a sudden audio comes back.
I decided to give another dock app a chance today. I got Car Dock Home v3 and put the WinAmp widget on the main screen...so I wouldn't even have to close the Dock app. After 5 minutes of driving it went to sleep, then it woke back up....then for some reason LogMeIn fired up and told me I had been logged out (haven't used LMI for weeks), then the audio stopped again.
This is making the device useless for me....I use my phone as music in my car and this is making it worthless.
Any thoughts? Could it be the power supply being too low a voltage? Could it be the magnet in the car dock that's causing this behavior? Or worse, could it be the magnetic switch in the phone?
Thats weird. I am running VirusROM and switched from the HTC car home app (which sucks bigtime IMO) to the Google Car Home. I have had no issues - I increased the screen timeout to 30 minutes, no weird app launches at all. I use DoubleTwist for the most part, sometimes WinAmp.
go to settings > applications > development > stay awake. this will keep the screen from going to sleep as long as it's plugged in to a power supply.
BzBz,
Thanks for the tip but it seems to have corrected itself....sorta. I've taken 3 15 minutes car rides and it's working as it should now. The only difference, the window mount came off the window and I reapplied it.
I'm wondering if I had it to where my dash was bumping the back of the AC cable, causing it to disconnect and reconnect power....thereby causing the unit to do odd things.
Since then, it's been working perfectly, been playing music via WinAmp with no audio drop out, even switch into Navigation for a bit, it did all the pausing and unpausing of the music.....I just may keep it. =)
Edit:
Oh, I was even trying to cause it to happen by taking a few speed bumps faster than I should...really bouncing the phone around and I can't seem to recreate the problem anymore.
Hi guys.
I am considering buying an A100 tab (at about 239€ now).
Can it be used also as a nettop? I plan to connect it to TV via HDMI and connect a bluetooth logitech mediaboard (keyboard + touchpad).
So my questions about A100 are:
1) can the screen be turned off when using HDMI connection? (I do not want to have screen light on)
2) what is the HDMI resolution?
3) Does it work with no problem with bluetooth keyboard and mouse? (I suppose it's only question of OS)
4) is the standard performance OK? (popular games as GTAIII etc.), video playback, browsing)
5) does anyone have experiences with the dock? What are the dock advantages over using a plain HDMI cable?
Thanks a lot in advance.
When connected to a TV via HDMI, if the screen is off on the tablet then the screen will also be off on the tv. Youtube videos will not play if the screen is off. Music (Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc) will play with the screen off. Connected to my TV, there is no letterboxing, it may be different on your TV. The very top and bottom of the tablet screen are cut off when displaying on my TV, due to the slightly different aspect ratios.
I've attached a picture of my tablet screen showing on my tv. My current wallpaper has a pixelated look to it, hence it will also look pixelated on the tv screen. I tested the output from the tablet to the tv screen using a Netflix video before and the picture quality was high, however I cannot recall my Netflix password at this time to take a picture and show you at this time.
Read the posts in the accessories section for info about bluetooth keyboards and mouses. Posts in the themes and apps section can give you more info about games. I play GTA III occasionally and have noticed no issue. I have no issues with the browser or watching videos, I use ICS Browser +.
Have you considered getting a netbook for what you are trying to accomplish? You can connect to the tv via hdmi, close the lid and still have a display on your tv screen.
Yesterday I picked up a N7 with the intentions to run it as a CarPC like many others. I started playing with it last night, and immediately thought it would be neat to be able to use my phone as a remote for the tablet, just like it the remote for my car stereo works, so I can be outside of the car and still control the radio (yeah, it's an infrared remote, but it has a pretty decent range).
I started looking for something like this, but all I was finding was either VNC solutions, or using the phone like a video game controller. The VNC works...kinda, but it still seems a bit kludgy, at least with the VMLite Server/RealVNC client combo that I've been using. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think about this, but I wasn't finding it, and I suspect I just wasn't searching with the right words.
Realistically, all I'd really need is control of a couple media apps, like YouTube (I'll occasionally use it as an on-demand audio streaming type deal), Pandora/Slacker, and a media player, so I don't even really need a full screen mirroring solution, but I would like to have it show the name of the current track, or be able to select local music to play.

In my case I'm using Tasker + PushBullet to control my Nexus from my phone. On the phone I have a widget with a couple of buttons on it and when a button is pressed PushBullet sends a message to the Nexus with a single command which Tasker uses to perform an action. It was a little cumbersome at first, but now I have added many actions and I'm able to do it in no time.
Try Beyond XBMC. Plenty of remotes for it
Or you can also use ps3 remote with sixc axis app
Sent from my LG-D803 using XDA Free mobile app

Hello,
Okay, trying to perfect this device is difficult. However, there are a few things I would love to get an answer for. I was looking at iDisplay, and android app that will use the TV screen as a second display. However, I'm not sure if it will play sound this way. I have a sound bar, so I didn't know if it would include playing the sound on the second display or not. When I use this function I don't want the sound to be played on my laptop.
